  • is there any way that i could download this or is there any album version of this?

  • @poppajah My MediaFire link has them.

  • can you do a rhythm and melody version?

  • @gravitybreaker1 I've thought about it, but decided against it.

  • Once again proof that the bass line is a solid stand alone instrument. Slap style again and the drums are good in their own right.

  • Is this possible to do this with Sonic Heroes? That had some pretty amazing music and I'm trying to learn it by using just the bass first. :P

  • @Wiintendoh Nah, since that's studio material. The closest you can get is a to find a good midi of a particular song, and mute the other channels.

  • The bass alone caulde make a song

  • Spazzy...I learn a new word! XD

Yeah..it really IS like Karaoke for the keyboard lol

    Thanks for the reference :-)

  • it can go by itself, it still sounds good like that xD

  • It sounds weird without the 16-bit saxophone.

  • Or Chemical Plant Act 3

  • Genocide Plant Zone Act 2 XD

  • wow how about the harmony next time huh

  • Freaken sweet, will be learning to place this on my bass guitar now. Thanks man!

  • @johncuda Yep yep

  • HA~!! I KNEW IT~!!

i used to think the bassline to this song was two-part... so, that means there's an accompanying arpeggio on top of this to drive it :DD

  • Hey is this your own arrangement of these parts? Or a transcription? Sounds good ^^

  • @LegendaryCloud89 Nope, these are all the originals.

  • I love the spazzy bass just before it loops. :D

  • @Pirochiro Spazzy? haha nice word.

And yeah, that part is awesome. =D

  • @Pirochiro You mean the chromatic descent slap-pop parts?

  • Dat percussion

  • @SOnicpower451 ...is nice.

  • how do you make these?

  • @liammillay2 Winamp and the in_vgm plugin.

  • @dissident93 i know that but i want to know exactly how you do it

  • EPIC !!

  • @Callofgun YEP.

  • MORTAL KOMBAT!!

  • It's like a fighting game music

  • Reminds me of music from Road Rash.

  • This is like karaoke for people who whistle or play keyboard

  • @KairuHakubi Haha, I agree.

  • @KairuHakubi I was doing exactly that with my keyboard, then I decided to look through the comments and was like :O!!!

  • It kind of sounds like an intro to a song. I think it would sound sweet if you attached the actual soundtrack to this.

  • @wallykasp The actual soundtrack? If you mean all the Sonic bass and percussion mp3s, they are on my channel.

  • @dissident93 I think he means it would sound really cool if this was added as an intro the normal version of Chemical Plant Zone, I can hear it happening too.

  • @IIIIIACEIIIII Well it is in the song, just under the other melodies.

But yeah, It would be cool to hear the drums first, then the song starts.

  • Do you sequence these and export them as 8 bit or do you somehow strip the treble stuff away? These are great!

  • @psychgoth I'm assuming the latter option. It's too accurate to be sequenced.

  • @Mayokitty7 I simply muted the other channels, nothing you guys couldn't do. haha

  • Sorry for sounding ignorant, but what does "percussion mean"? like drums or something?

  • @Wiintendoh Drums are part of the percussion family, as guitars are with the string family.

  • @dissident93 Wow you reply fast. o>o

    thanks tho! :)

  • @Wiintendoh Yeah, a few people have said that I comment fast. haha

  • And I'm pretty sure that the "musicians" are one guy :)

  • I wish I had this when I was learning it, lol..

  • @BedroomBassist You could always make another version. Haha

  • @BedroomBassist i still like your version =) you inspire me

  • Every time I hear one of these separated Bass/Percussion songs, I truly appreciate how good the musicians/composers are to create such finished masterpieces at the end of game production.

Just listening to this baseline tells me how good a bass player they had.

  • @YinYang19 Well the composer for Sonic 1 and 2 was the bass player for the band Dreams Come True, Masato Nakamura. If you like this you might like this too: watch?v=8Y4ski3LkTI

  • @dissident93

Wow, Indeed I do, thanks man... that's pretty awesome.

  • @YinYang19 While we are on the subject, watch?v=Rt-YZ8SbVOA

  • @dissident93

    Oh... mah... god.

That's amazing lol, the Ending and Star Light songs are so great... the Ending one sounds like it was actually sung by the band! I'd give to see that version of the song in the actual game, it would be awesome.

  • @YinYang19 Oh yeah, I forget to tell you that the ending from Sonic 2 is actually Sweet Dream.
