The Guard or Watch in Matthew 28 is referring to 4-20 men probably about 8 not the entire Praetorian Guard which is about 500 Men...

You really believe Pilate would send his Entire Praetorian Guard to defend a tomb of a man he did not want to crucify...He wouldn't The Priets sent their own "guard" or "Keepers" to secure the tomb...(Mat27:65)
