Yes, single payer has worked so well in other countries. The truth is if those 1300 insurance companies were allowed to sell across state lines and didn't have to meet so many insane regulations, we would have actual competition which would drive prices down.

How can Sanders actually say that conservatives should support something that goes against every conservative (and Constitutional) principle there is? What has the government ever run better than private industry?

Schools? Are you kidding me? And those others are public utility and protective services. Oh, and there is only one thing in your list that the Constitution has actually given the federal government to do, and that's the military.

How about Medicaid and Medicare? The "war on poverty", the "war on drugs"? The fact is this type of system won't do anything to bring down costs. Its only goal is to give more control to the federal government.
