Ugly or not, it feels as narrow and poised as my k7 750. I liked it right out of the box.

two thumbs up to the BMW folks who let me take one out for a spin with no chase rider and no return time either. I really liked it.

@MontereyKid I agree, the worry free test ride at the dealer really convinced me to renounce my current partnership with my K8 1000, not to mention the fact that it felt like a 600 with the punch of a young Mike Tyson lol.

FAIL.this bike is ugly i am wondering why youl ike it JAP bikes are much better and more beautiful.bmw will never become as good as honda and other bikes built in italy or japan

@parisTDR250 It may not be the best looking bike, but there is no denying that is DESTROYED the competition and is only going to get better since it is BMW first Supersport bike ever. "Never good as other bikes built in italy or japan." The types of bikes BMW makes it is always in the top 3 against the bikes from other manufactures in the same class. BMW has been making motorcycles longer than just about every manufacturer.

@bullseye246 dont make me campare it with mv agusta's or GSXR''s cause or kawasaki.by the way dont look only at the bhp of the bikes but at the torque and the acceleration.the BMW is also 200 kilo's its a fast moving cow nothing more

@parisTDR250 the full weight is around 200 kg i mean with liquids a cbr weights full about 180 anyway if you do a search on 1000cc bikes specs you will see yourself that there are other bikes with less horses higher top speed more torque but many sites are not reliable only manuals from the factories tell the truth!!

This model should appeal to the younger set bringing more riders into the BMW brand, and to some of us older riders already on a BMW!!

@kihei7 Yeah I'm 24 and love it so much I bought one over Ducati's 1198s and Aprillia's RSV4 pretty much all I was looking for was a Jap bike with some nice finishes!!!!!! (Reliability, servicing, and rideability is key).

P.S. Anyone who hasn't ridden one the gearbox is out of this world not like the Dukes jumpy power and harsh traction control, and Aprillia's reliability probs which I think aren't worth its gorgeous good looks.
