saw her this past weekend open for U2. I kinda sorta knew about her, but after seeing her live, it's like "HOLY SHIT!" She ran all around that huge stage and sang flawlessly (no gasping for breath or anything!). She's the real deal AND, most importantly, uses her talents in a way that hasn't been done before! Her voice makes me feel like I'm up high above the sky and as I look down at the earth, it takes my breath away for that brief moment. This song is overwhelming, at the same time beautiful. =]

I was really trying to like this because my girlfriend is a fan, but I just could not get into it. Florence has trouble carrying a tune live, and despite screaming loudly she still manages to sound whiney and wavering the entire time. The lyrics are pretty awful as well, but it's hard to tell since most of the words are incoherent due to the wavering tone deaf moaning layered on top of them. The only good thing about this song to me is its arrangement, I like the harp.

@neoguy35 You're right, I found her voice to be very grating. I think it's the combination of singing loudly despite not being able to maintain pitch, and also moaning and whining. In the non-live version it's covered up pretty well by good sound engineering, but in the live version her voice just sounds awful.
