I don't know why this part in particular made me think of this, but did you know Lewis Carroll was seriously a suspect to be Jack the Ripper? It wasn't a theory they explored for long, but it's true.
And as in uffish thought he stood The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame Came whiffling through the Tulgey Wood And burbled as he came. One, two, one, two, and through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack He left it dead, and with it's head He went gallumphing back And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? O, come to my arms, my beamish boy O frabjous day, callough, callay He chortled in his joy (Repeat first stanza. This is from memory. Yes, I have no life.)
Twas brillig and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe All mimsy were the borogroves And the mome raths outgrabe. Beware the Jabberwock, my son Jaws that bite, claws that snatch Beware the JubJub bird and shun The frumious Bandersnatch. He took his vorpal sword in hand Long time his manxiom foe he sought So rested he by the TumTum tree And stood awhile in thought.
Has anyone noticed that the buttons at the bottom read LSD? And then with the trippy shrooms before... Somebody was high. Either Mr McGee or Mr Carroll.
If this is Alice's dream, and she knows it, why not just make herself supreme overlord of Wonderland or some such nonsense? And then maybe cross the Chessboard Desert and make herself supreme overlord of Looking-Glass Land? Forget the White and Red queens, Alice created an entire universe!
@similispastor It's not quite a dream... it's Alice trying to sort out her mind. Think of her situation outside of Wonderland (her mind). She's depressed about the fire and shiz. If you're depressed, it's very hard to have confidence and to build happiness back up again; she is building it back up by running around killing doubts and fears in her mind to stabilize herself.
@RuikeiWolf Yeah, I know... it's just that it would make so much more sense for her to get rid of some of the obstacles. For instance, if each boss represents some negative thought process, why not get rid of all the ground enemies and only fight the boss battles? (And obviously this is a video game, I'm not saying it would be better or more fun, just that it would be a whole lot easier for Alice.)
Did you notice the Cheshire Cat's contacts and teeth glow in the dark? I bet his teeth are the cheap plastic Vampire teeth that glow in the dark that you can buy for cheap :D
@chansenorsan Because assembling the pieces of a magical eye staff is cooler than assembling the pieces of a sword I guess? Also the poem doesn't specify that it had to be the vorpal sword to kill the Jabberwock that I can remember. The guy just happened to have the vorpal sword with him.
@nickelshotnight You're right at both points there but didn't it imply that the sword did the killing? wasn't it like "the vorpal sword went snicker snack" or something like that? To me that implies that the guy/girl/person/THING used it but that's just me :o But hey that's me
@chansenorsan I think so, but that doesn't mean it has to be the vorpal sword specifically. I think maybe any old sword can do the trick if you don't die first. Anyway, it's just a poem so speculation is silly XD
The reason they hit hard is because it's, well, chess. When an enemy piece hits your piece, you lose that piece unless you can get the most worthless piece to the end of the board.
@gravisamurai89 The Jabberwock is a vile creature created by Alice's guilt. He terrorized the world known as Wonderland through the Forests, which covered all of Wonderland.
Somewhere around the spot where you make the comment about Snake, there's a semi-hidden room with a bunch of the normal sized meta-essence crystals. You have to drop down in the right spot to find it.
Second part And as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! and through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy.
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! He was on opiates at the time he wrote the story of alices adventures he used them to help him sleep back then they were given to those who couldnt sleep
It has been suggested that he took them later in his life to ease a pain in his leg (which was common at the time), but there is no evidence that he took anything while he was writing the Alice books; they were composed for the enjoyment of his child friend. Besides, they're too well formulated to be a product of drug use.
I love that little detail of Alice preening her hair in the glass. It looks so childish, somehow, in the midst of all this horror. I think it's a hint that here in Wonderland she is still a playful little girl, and after all, this is all her own creation.
The red pawns - the little bastards - are quite easy to take out with two tosses with the throwing knife, by the way.
I just noticed, on the load screen the dials have L S D on them down in bottom, that's kinda cool, seeing as this would seem like an LSD hilucination.
Stage 18 already? Wow: 1- Random observation from an earlier mention in the library: Bobby the Boojum sounds odd... as that was his name... 2- Yes, the looking glass. My friend took over for a bit and she fell under the stairs on accident and was having fun being invisible. Okay, see you next video! ~Amiko

The jabbervokky is a poem from the second book that Alice reads. I believe it's the white chess piece king she takes it from.
