  • Whats the shifting like on the sst? Does it shift smoothly when driving non aggressive? I've driven a 5speed evox and thought the gear spacing was horrible for the cars powerband, but then again I hear the sst cant handle much power? Asking because im thinking of getting one.

  • @foolongtea When I test drove a 2010 EVO, It just didn't feel right with the automatic/paddle shifting system. It was smooth, but there was something missing. I then test drove a 10 GTS model with a full manual transmission and even though it has no turbo, and is FWD, it felt like it had more get up and go with that 2.4 size engine where the EVO only has a 2.0. When you look at the specs the EVO supposedly has more power and all, but in my test drives I preferred the GTS which was $10-15k less

  • @Dviperman

I seriously doubt that. There is just no way.

  • @adogg619 Well I am going by personal experience while test driving both vehicles. Every one has different experiences while driving a car. I was just saying that for the extra $10-15k the EVO costs over the GTS, it just didn't seem worth to pay more. There are many car reviews that see the Ralliart version as a better car for the price over the EVO version.

  • i love how people will argue about anything.....i'll admit that both evo's and sti'are pretty quick. faster than my hhr ss if driven correctly. but i can admit it. i dont see the point in arguing lol

  • quick car!! the problem is i lack faith in mitsu reliability and the subaru is butt ugly! BOTH kings of rally...... although the subaru does make a better sound with the horizontally opposed 4 whereas the mitsu just sounds like a civic with a turbo...... you have to ask yourself what sense you want to use more...... sight or sound!

  • @82raptor just get a dodge charger R/T. AWD, V8 390hp Naturally asperated. it can get 31 MPG because of the cylinder shut off system.

  • @82raptor What's wrong with a mitsubishi? We have had one for 8 years with no problems

  • @Tekhsheen Well. You guys have been lucky then.. Because I've heard alot of horror stories.. From the eclipse Gs-T days, to recently when people were having problems w/ their new evos blowing up, and dealerships refused to fix because they said they were being autocrossed, which voided the warranty..

  • @bliglum It depends if they decided to mod their evo's as well. Besides, there are horror stories all over the manufacturers; for example, honda's tranny problem, reliability issues with vw's, even the new mini's were recalled for fire hazards. You have to still give credit that it is manufactured by a japanese company with a rich heritage dating pre-ww2; unlike vw's which are still POS's

  • @bliglum Sorry let me add the Mitsubishi "Mitsubishi PX33" as proof of them doing something right others couldn't; first Japanese awd sedan

  • And for all of you arguing about an EVO'S 0-60..... It's rated for 4.9 if driven correctly.

  • STI is still behind the EVO. The evo beats it in drag and handling. STI gets better mpg though I believe. The EVO has beaten the STI in every professional test.

  • well , i hate this cuz they are discontinuing the evo fuckin stupid ....

  • damn 5.0 electronically nannied evos, my stock 05 wrx WAGON does it in 5.5. not that 0-60 times really matter. i like evos, i just prefer the car that you drive buy your self, and not with the aid of computers..

  • @EthansOpinion92 That's why I just bought an 06, automatics are nice, but in a sports car I like to feel what is going on.

  • @mg86ta1 thats my problem though... i bought an 05 wrx with a 4eat:/ soon to be a 5mt or 6mt :)

  • 5.5 sec

  • poor sti wannabe

  • You realise it has launch control? Deactivate the traction control, put it in D: S-Sport and hold the brake with the left foot while revving to 5k with the right. Release brake, wonder why everything has gone blurry....

  • from 0:12-0:17 5 seconds

  • ITS 6 SECONDS HANDS DOWN all these other people are saying 4.9 just because they bought this instead of a sti and to make themselves feel better

  • @MrCodBaller you do realize the evo is a more powerful car than the sti right ?

  • @SuperGuitarMaster69 you do realize the sti has 305 hp and the evo has 291 hp right?

  • @frekadee more like other way around...why do you think the sti gets dusted by the evo anyday ?

  • @SuperGuitarMaster6 i didnt say the sti is quicker. i just pointed out that you are wrong. these numbers are from their websites. sti has 305 hp and the evo has 291.

  • It doesn't take 7 seconds you dumb ass. Try 4.9 seconds

  • timed on my ipod and got 5.5 seconds

  • Yea like said....about 5 seconds.

  • @sadfhorde 5 seconds? are you retarded? was 7 seconds

  • @Barissa96 are you retarded? what sort of Evo does 0-60 in 7 seconds? He revved the car first for about 3 seconds before actually launching...

  • @Barissa96 you sir must be 12

  • @Barissa96 Sir your a retard. Evo X 0-60 in 5 sec

  • @Barissa96 lol yes an evo takes 7 seconds to go 0-60 when a 2012 civic si can do 6.5 seconds lol get real 5 seconds would be close to more accurate id say probably around 5.5 maybe 5.7 for evo lol learn a little bit about cars lol

  • @Barissa96 5 seconds you fucking beast. You dont know how to count seconds?

  • sorry, but auto tranny ruins it!

  • 5 secs, not bad.

  • my honda is faster than that

  • @mikewatts1990 hmmm depends on which honda...

  • @mikewatts1990 unless its an NSX, its still a honda.

  • @skyline9878 What do you mean. A NSX is pure Honda. The NSX introduced variable valve timing with this car, which every company now uses in their engines (VTEC) everyone else has just had to develop a different name for it.

  • @Solumic No duh. What i meant is that unless the honda is an NSX, it it still a honda, as in a commuter car. NSX is only honda worth talking about. Also an evo can go toe to toe with an NSX and with aftermarket, evo runs away.

  • @mikewatts1990 who cares its a honda.

  • lol i was looking fuck that's slow but i realised its MPH not KPH .. :D

  • Mitsubishi said that evo x is the last of the evos

  • @KidQuickx91 Sales were being pounded...not enough people are buying them anymore :)

  • ha the other vid i just saw a wrx sti did 0 to 60 in 3.8 secs

  • I LOVE EVOS

  • Dude, the ralliart is quicker than that. The ralliart is pushing 3.8-4.0 and the evo is pushing 4.3-4.8...xD

  • @Wemustmod dude-- you might wanna check out my acceleration video, ralliart will never be quicker! ha,

  • WHAT A JOKE! HOW ARE YOU GONNA DO A ACCELERATION VIDEO WITHOUT LAUNCH CONTROL??? HAHA EPIC FAIL! AND THE EVO X-MR IS A FAIL TOO! AUTOMATIC SUCKS, AND SO DOES THA PADDLE SHIFT CRAP... EVO X-GSR(MANUAL) FTW!!

  • @princeofroyalty2 YELL LOUDER NEXT TIME, ASSHOLE!!

  • @princeofroyalty2

It's a dual clutch automated gearbox, but why does that matter? Did paul walker tell you stick is the only way to race?

  • @adogg619 actually when it comes to an Evo, it does matter, cause the automated gearbox Evo X has its limits when it comes to modding ,not only that Stock on Stock the Evo X-GSR(manual) is a bit quicker in the quarter mile than the Evo X-MR(dual clutch automated gearbox) Evo X-GSR 13.6 - Evo X-MR 13.9 (you pay $3,000.00 more on the sticker price for the Evo X-MR(sst automated gear box) its not WORTH IT,especially once you start modding & if you see an Evo X in the 11s-its most likely manual

  • @princeofroyalty2 My Evo X Mr Details.. HKS Intercoller Piping kit, with HKS Spec R Intercooler. HKS racing suction kit, Hks Gt Extension Kit HKS Hi Power racing exhaust,FP Red turbo. 1000 CC Injectors, and Trani Intercooler. My X MR Does 0-100km/h 3.8 Sec on 98 octone. Surely faster than any evo 9,8,7 on street.

  • @max22g That's extremely impressive. It's in supercar's class!!

  • @CHARLIETWW I know, and it sounds so sexy... i have been told.. good thing is, it looks stock evo X, dnt have any stickers or anything to attract attention

  • @CHARLIETWW the older one did a 8:11 on nurburgring and that means it spanked some ferrari's and lambo's that have 8 more cylinders

  • @W4TCH4W I checked "List of Nürburgring Nordschleife lap times" again. I didn't realized that Evo IX was on the list, and it's very likely that Evo X can make it in less than 8 mins. If that''s case, it will put Evo X on par with Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4, Porsche 911 Turbo 997, Ferrari F430 and other supercars! WTF, that's outrageously fast! I'll own a EVO without the price tag of a supercar! I'll probably save enough money for a Evo XI !

  • @CHARLIETWW any idea what year xi is gonna be out

Oh by the way i don't think it will run under 8 seconds because even though it has the new S-AWC and all that it is still heavier so thinking they even out i say around 8:05- 8:10 i hope somebody runs it and prove me wrong and you right :D

  • @W4TCH4W 2013, evo XI will be hybrid, with electronic turbo,

  • @CHARLIETWW Lapping the Nurburgring in less than 8 minutes with a stock Evo? As much as that would be great, it's not going to happen.

If it WAS true, wouldn't everyone be buying Evo's and making Ferrari, Porsche, etc. go bankrupt? LOL

  • @wajalama In reality, Evos are not supercars, but for their price tags, their performance is quite impressive. Look forward to seeing how the next gen Evo performs.

  • @CHARLIETWW It should perform actually quite well unlike what everyone thinks. It may be a hybrid, which kind of sucks, but at least hopefully it'll get better MPG while still kickin butt. I just hope it still has a nice exhaust note.

  • @wajalama An evo may be faster in laps. But does not have the refinment and artistic features that you pay for with an exotic. Two different kind of car's. Trust me you ride in a evo built and you will undstand why it can make it around the track so fast. I mean the evo is faster than my Acura. But my Acura is just more car.

  • @Solumic Uh, I never mentioned anything about the Evo being more refined than a Porsche, etc. I was just debunking the other guy's comment about how a stock Evo can lap the Nurburgring in less than 8 minutes in a stock Evo, that's just not possible.

Of course a super-car has more luxury, etc. etc. compared to an Evo, lol.

  • @CHARLIETWW A evo being a supercar? I am scared to hear what you consider a supercar :S

  • @max22g Why are you comparing your modifed Evo numbers to an older, stock Evo? That makes no sense, whatsoever.

  • driving on the D to make it slow haters

  • do you do these times at a more quicker style such as manual with launch controll and such cause automatic 0-60 this thing slows down a generous amount

  • That thing hauls ass

  • Paddle shifters?

  • @fosset24 Auto

  • 5 seconds

  • i prefer evo 9 and evo 6 :(

  • @4LLeY i prefer the 9 and 4

  • @unknownaznboy209 still,one of the worst model is the X :(

  • you're correct man! Evo 6 TM edition!!!

  • for fast cars like these you should do a top speed run or at least a 0-100

  • Lame. Mr is for people who dont plan to use the car how its ment to be used. GSR is a real evo.

  • the mph look like the rpms on my 09 eclipse lol

  • around 5 seconds. give or take 1/10th

  • wow

  • 4.9

  • 4.9

  • i got 6 0-60

  • I know that tranny is faster than a manual but dammit, It needs to be manual.

  • it revs fast as fuck lmao

  • @guywhoflys1 it IS fast as fuck!

  • I counted like 6.8 seconds...is that right??

  • @dboytesoro most definitely not.. its around 4.5

  • I've concluded that the people who make these videos do not know how to drive a real car... one with a manual transmission.

  • That turbo lag is disgusting.

  • Automatic! :(

  • Nice magnetoscope =)

  • 6 seconds???

  • sucks that it's automatic

  • @beampoc7 It's Dual clutch you IDIOT! Try affording one and you will understand how much better it is. Not only does it have launch control but when you are in manual mode its just that like that a manual.. Dont get it confused with triptronic, far from it.

Source: MKV r32 DSG equipped/ EVO 05 MR

  • Where's the launch control?

  • @therookie93 It was unhappy about launching at full revs that day.

  • @mpgomatic Ah, I see. Definitely looking forward to a test drive soon.

  • @therookie93 Cool. The EVO's a hoot. The dealer might not be too keen on trying out launch control on a test drive, tho ...

  • @mpgomatic haha definitely not! thanks!

  • @mpgomatic whts wrong with u?, i did not make any comment regarding that. read before react

  • @mpgomatic was going to say, the ralliart in the other video looks 5 times faster

  • It's a stock street car that only costs about 38k brand new. Built to handle and drive on any road condition, not drag race.

get it through your fucking head people this car handles on rails who cares if it only has 290hp?

  • ill never understand why people drive automatic cars. shifting is so much fun

  • @Frittrich traffic, lazyness, maybe a inability.. such as back problems or something like that, i dunno... in my case sure its fun to drive manual, but id rather just lay back and cruise around without being paying attention at when to shift

  • @LordKevin92 yes thats an argument, but i learned how to drive manual so i dont need to pay attention at when i shift you know. thats why i wonder.

  • @Frittrich maybe its cuz you've driven manual for so long that its natural and u dont need to pay attention

  • @LordKevin92 yes :) but i must admit it can suck pretty hard in traffic jams

  • @Frittrich Yeah. I'd take this over the GSR's tranny simply because I hate manual trannys in traffic. Sure its fun, but it's agonizing in bumper to bumper.

  • weak o-60mph

  • this isn't an evolution. sorry but there's no such thing as an automatic evolution.

  • @qwertymalene The MR is auto.... get your facts straight.

  • @themomopan well, you're right. that's new. but a real evolution is a standard. you don't buy an automatic evolution for rallying or for everyday driving. same reason you don't put a towing hitch on a car. absolutely pointless.

  • takes 3 gears to get to 60 hmmm,

  • no way! 3rd gear for 60? dont kno much bout evos but cant they do 60 in 2nd?

  • EVO? you sure???

  • that 'sync' issue might also be because the tach could be slow on this car.

    nice videos regardless.

  • Yeah, cool dual clutch...not. Slushbox.

  • Wow gearing is not that great

  • its a stock festivus

  • lol automatic

  • the evo is a best car i like

  • 5.3

  • why automatic?

  • @Turb0Tuner they chose to do the twin clutch auto because it shifts faster, is more accurate, leaves less room for driver error i suppose, im surprised that they didn't make the manual an option though....weird right?

  • @tbirdsport302 Um... manual is an option? At least in the USA it is.. Get the GSR... it's the 5 speed stick shift.. MR is the 6 speed TCSST.

  • auto-tragic...boo

  • whoever was driving ..their foot probably was stick to their head!

  • ralliart and evo almost the same time from 0-60 !??? and with a difference of 60hp!?

  • Automatic?

  • I have sustained 26 mpg for about 30 miles in mine at the time it was bone stock. This was in 6th gear cruising at 55-60 on a highway, so it can be done.

  • thats a very slow 0-60 i didnt expect that

  • Why is it that almost all of your videos aren't synced with the sound?

  • @ktrazy This clip sounds fine here. We did have some sync problems early on, but they were fixed quite a while back. What type of computer setup are you running?

  • @mpgomatic I'm running Mac OS X with Google Chrome. The Volkswagen GTI 0-60 video was correctly synced with my Mac, but pretty much all the other videos were out of sync.

  • @ktrazy Interesting. I usually use Firefox on OSX here ... no problems with sync. I'll install Chrome and check it out.

  • @mpgomatic yea, it not synced %100 but it close enough..

  • @mpgomatic Have the same lag/delay on google chrome with my mac OS X imac

  • @mpgomatic im running it on mac also sound trouble but on safari =)

  • @mpgomatic hmm im running firefox on osx too and im having that issue as well

  • @mpgomatic I get sound delay on this particular video as well.

  • Mitsubishi confirmed that Evo's are going to be stopped from production, very sad.

  • @ExiiTZz dude are you kidding me? how can u know that? source plz,, anyways i dont care if they stop making it... i already bought me a evo x fully load,, SSS/Aero kit/navi/ oh yea am full so i dont care if mitsu stops make it...

but i would like to know who told u that big lie...

  • @breck569

the turbo on an evos is 97388363344 times bigger then the one on the Audi

  • STI

    'nuff said.

  • @lymphocytedr Sexually Transmitted Infection?

  • turbo lag from 11 seconds to 13 seconds then it kicks in, i'll stick with naturally aspriated engines for now.

  • @k00lball3r Ok can you please explain whats bad about turbo lag??? im not talking down on you its a serious question. First of all i know what turbo lag is but what i want to know is whats bad about it? if originally your car goes from 0-60 in 5 sec and you put a turbo in yes it will lag but will it even ruin your speed? its the same as having a NA engine while its lagging but when the turbo kicks in it boosts your cars HP but i just dont see why ppl complain about turbo lag??? please lmk.

  • @kr4zyr4ver turbo lag is only 2-3 secs of stepping on the gas with little to no power and then finally you have power, as in u step on gas and there isnt much go until 2-3 sec, if u have a supercharged or n/a engine then you would have instant power when u stepped on the gas. its not that serious, just personal prefrence if u ask me .

  • doesnt it have a launch control?

  • @cardude1992 Thats what he is doing when he builds the revs before taking off.

  • wooh this car is evil!!

  • how are these 2.0t so fast? i mean an audi a4 is a 2.0t and it isnt nearly as fast

  • @breck569 because audis puts out 100 less horsepower than this does.

  • @breck569 you can modify the audi for more power with different tunning maps. But you'll lose that engine's purpose which is to be efficient. With EVO you'll be lucky if you see 20mpg out of a tank of gas. The two are made for completely different purposes in mind.

  • @yuning83 Wrong. My Evo IX MR get around 25 mpg when I drive conservatively. Plus it's modded and tuned, stock would be even better.

  • @MLGaKuRit My friend has the same exact car as yours and it's stock. Never seen past 20, and he definitely drive conservatively, but mostly city. If you compare highway mpg, the other day the Audi told me that I had 34mpg doing a trip to Chicago, but that's hard to believe and computer was jumping all over the places between 34 to 39. It all depends on where you drive and how you were driving it. If you windmill it I'm sure you'll get past 30 with a Evo, but same conditions, Audi has better mpg.

  • @yuning83 ohh yeah, Audi has better mpg for sure. Just saying my IX can easily get over 20. But then again, that's when I drive it like a saint, and I'm in Florida, so it's all flat, no hills.

  • @MLGaKuRit 25 is pretty good considering it's performance. I wouldn't mind owning one myself. But I live where my friend lives, and since he can't get it to pass 20, I doubt I can out do him that much. lol

  • Seriously guys. I just typo'd. What I meant to say was 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and through the 1/4 in 103mph. Simple mistake.

  • I only watched this because I thought it was funny for a 0-60 video to be 34 seconds long.

  • 5 or 6 seconds, amazing for a 4 cylinder engine, (is it?) i want 1.

  • Dam...about 5 seconds? Just send it to Germany, get rid of all that fast and furious toy shit out of the car and give it 4 more cylinders please.

  • this joker right here is quick

  • @grifkylian ummm where are you getting those numbers becuz those arent true..

  • It's your fuel mag, it's got a nasty hole. That's why you're unloading in third. Lengthen the injecting pulse another millisecond just tune the nos timer you'll run 9's

  • Prefer BMW 335i. Check them out

  • should have used launch control
