Of course you have to speak BM. Takpela, boleh je cakap bahasa lain. Tapi BM tu kenala fasih. I've been living in Europe for 8 years and have seen that regardless of the ethnic differences around here, they speak the country's language. I live in Germany now. Turks that are born here all speak turkish too. But, they speak German among Turks. Aku ada member cina gak, ok je bahasa melayu derang. Somehow terasa close to them bila dengar derang cakap BM.Kalau pernah gi Kelantan, semua hebat kecek.
Wow, it means a lot to me. For me , we have to face discrimination from UMNO. have to live salary under RM2,000. which is not enough for a living. Besides, having a lousy party which is Perkasa and also a racist party.
Easy UMNO + MCA + MIC + PKR marriage, then produce 1Malaysia, to manage a country should based un a good government, not religion driven, not ethnic driven, it should be fair to MALAYSIAN.
Najib seems to be doing a great job these 2 years. His has numerous good policies. However on the other hand, they may be merely actions taken because of the strong opposition voice. Just curious, is there any country in the world with a unified government? Unified as in, ruling majority partners opposition in joining a unified govt. Both the winning party and opposition party has members holding portfolios in Government Cabinet. That way, race based policy is a sure doom as BN-PR befriends
@MalaysianAgent if i'm not mistaken, United States they have such thing which in the ruling government, they have opposition party people holding portfolio in it. Tat is why, to ammendthe federal constitution of US is not easy. The cabinet themselves will argue. Cabinet of US will not always agree to what the president wanna say or do. They don't bother much about president, instead they really oppose if they feel something is wrong with the suggestion.
What it means to be Malaysian? It means that badminton is our National Sport! Most of the time, we will make it to the quarter finals. ^^ What it means to be Malaysian? Eating, eating, eating.. Sweet, sour, salty and spicy. What it means to be Malaysian? Freeeeeedom... free to chase our passion, free to speak our minds, free to live life to its fullest! What it means to be Malaysian? A land rich with opportunity!
What with Language got to do with this? less educated enough to understand the issue? guess what Bahasa is from Indonesia, we just fix it and use it here. Everyone have they rights to religion, believe and language.
kalo kite nk jadikn yg bukan melayu fasih dlm bahasa malaysia, then we might need to change our education system.
Its just my suggestion, kite should not ade sekolah khas Cina or India. But all the Sekolah Kebangsaan should teach all 3 language. Barulah ade pergaulan yg betul, and also get to learn all language
@byitong Masuk SKM and hear racist remarks from the Guru Besar? The "pendatang" must be fasih in Mandarin and Tamil too, otherwise how do we survive when we are asked to "balik Cina" or "balik India"??
@Tangosabah Actually the Guru Besar should juz shut up. She dont know about races integrity. i'm trying to highlight here is about our education system here, and do away with all those Chinese School, or Tamil School. Sorry for the Chinese School or Tamil School. We can still organised classes for all this special language classes for them to learn. So that we can have the same mindset for different races, and also to close up the gap.
@byitong the education system is really bad. I was from a high school in malaysia but now i moved to canada. The education system here is much, much better.
@byitong totally agree with you... in my opinion by having those SRJC Cina or India we're actually teaching our younger generation the meaning of 'racial segregation' at a very young age...
Macam mana nak ada identiti Malaysia. Org Cina masih nak guna bahasa Cina dan Inggeris. Mereka tak fasih bahasa Malaysia. Kalau korang pi Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway dan beberapa negara Europe semua org Cina dan tak guna bahasa Cina. Mereka guna bahasa tempatan seperti bahasa negara mereka tinggal. Jadi, gunalah bahasa Malaysia dengan fasih. Baru le ada identiti Malaysia. Itu pendapat aku aje...
@along111 aku nak tanya... apakah bahasa kebangsaan negara Singapura? Bahasa Inggeris ataupun Bahasa Melayu?
Kedua, Lagu Kebangsaan Singapura adalah dalam Bahasa Melayu ataupun Bahasa Inggeris?
Kalau kau nak bandingkan bahasa-bahasa negara-negara tu semua...
@jam316 Indonesia maju sampai mana??? Kalau u nak banding pasal thailand tu, i mmg respect thailand. Politik wang mereka superb. Dirty politik mereka superb. Tapi, krjn mereka at least buat banyak benda utk majukan thailand. Tgk krjn filipina buat banyak benda supaya mereka maju.
Krjn M'sia bukannya tak buat apa2. Tapi kalau nak buat bahasa malaysia sbg bahasa kebangsaan tu, kenalah ada enforcement. Ni nak buat project besar2, tapi takde enforcement. Mcm mana nak berjaya?
@jam316 Lagi satu, bahasa kebangsaan singapura tu bukannya bahasa inggeris... Pergi buat research apa bahasa kebangsaan dan lagu kebangsaan singapura tu dalam bahasa apa...
@jam316 Hey, i dun wan fight with u la... who wanna fight here?? Kalau nak fight tu, pergi lah balai polis fight.. youtube for ppl to share video and comment and debate and gve your opinion... We are educated and civilize ppl... We dun suka2 then fight...
Sejak bila Japan's national language is english?
Sejak bila Korea's national language is english?
Sejak bila Germany's national language is english?
And bahasa kebangsaan singapura adalah bahasa melayu la dude...
@sloweed87 all universities in germany, japan needs ppl to get know English to get into top universities in their countries. even they didn't speak well because it;d a high cost to teach them to speak. where as we have advantage to be educated in english with a low cost, but we ignored that
@enkii82 Yes, i agree with you. That's why we need to brush up our english. My english is not good/perfect, but at least i can speak smoothly, but of coz with gramatical error... We still need to brush up our english to compete with the world.
And one thing to be added, when i say we need to brush up our english, it doesn't mean i'm challenging bahasa malaysia. Many ppl who dun understand english will mistaken on this sentence... sad :( How to compete with world???
@enkii82 erm, nope. I studied in germany for more than 6 years. English is only starting to creep in. Only in Masters though and in some bachelors (changing from DIPLOM cert. to English edu:( ). Education in Germany is mostly German. The top 10 Universities all teach in German. I submitted my final thesis in German. My friends who asked to submit it in english, some professors allow it, others don't, saying "you are studying in Germany, you should learn the language and submit it in German"
@iqe98 Of course, most of the undergrad studies uses their own language, even in japan. And you have mistaken me. 3 points I was trying to make. 1. even Japanese universities use japanese language as the medium of teaching but the english is the major determinant for their entry to their top U. 2. Most of the graduate level school uses english now (to attract global student and most of the higher level text mostly available in english) and 3 the language of communications of the world is English
@enkii82 hold on a sec. your 3 points does not represent what u are saying here: enkii82:"all universities in germany, japan needs ppl to get know English to get into top universities in their countries".You said in their countries.in germany, no. so, i just corrected that. Only a small mistake :) .However, i get your point. English is important. But english is not a MAJOR determinant in German universities. I had to pass a german test not eng. like other foreign students before being accepted.
the undergrad doesnot matter. what matter is the graduate level where the 'real research' kicks in. undergrad is the acceptors of knowledge, graduate is the giver. so if one country wants to be a leader and 'giver' of education english is an essential language to learn. btw, in germany nothng much need to be written, aren't that mathematical equations the only language they speak in their teachings , jk.
@enkii82 yeah, i had lots of pictures in it. Because my german is understandably bad. But, I still had 35 pages of written german.they do speak like human beings you know... hehe, i know ur jk. English is taught as an elective. At the work place, it is considered an extra but not determinant. They even change all the voices of movies in german! no subtitles.harry potter might have the same voice as jackie chan! The Original Voice (OV) theaters are never full! Filled with us malaysians. hehe.
@jam316 And who say we wanna change Bahasa Malaysia? Adakah anda tahu dalam federal constitution, we're not allow to question anyting about Bahasa Malaysia? I'm not questioning single about bahasa malaysia...
But, we shud brush up our english, so that we can compete with international... I'm not questioning single thing about Bahasa Malaysia... Pls read my comment properly before comment anything about changing Bahasa Malaysia as our language...

@along11 tak setuju dengan pendapat saudara. Jati diri, nationality, takde kaitan dgn bahasa yang diguna pakai.
orang melayu, hari2 baca Al-Quran, bahasa arab, hilang jati diri kah? xde.
its a totally different thing. orang cina bukannya tak tau sangat bahasa melayu. tau jer, cuma broken sket2. ok la. what else to expect.
even kita org islam, sepatutnya fasih bahasa Arab, cuba sruh cakap arab kat rumah, mau terkebil2 mulut.
