@TheWomacker The Spartans held their ground for some time, and based on their abilities proven in the previous days, and their strategic advantage, I believe the Spartans would have won, had they not been surrounded. Stranger things have been done. Such as 500 Crusaders and 50 Templar taking on a massive elite persian bodyguard, and winning. Alexander the great routed a million-man force. Granted he had more men, he didn't have as good an tactical advantage as Leonidas.

Several instances of the Templar knights performing similar actions have been recorded. You should read your history, friend.

a lot of people in a very bad formation. having such a great deployment of men disposed in that squared way, with multiple orizontal lines, is a suicide. you could be beaten even by a smaller but best organized army. you should dispose your men in three lines deep maximum, and expand the units on the sides as much as possible in order to cover up the whole horizon!
