this is Earsl's Court 75, i have the dvd....incredible show, they were and are on another planet...nobody can imitate that guitarist and that drummer..
@varone6t9 I'd imagine he's using a treble booster of some sort... most people did back then but you can never be sure... I don't hear the tonebender.
When Zeppelin went to Germany Eva Von Zeppelin (the guy that made the Zeppelins grandaughter) saw the bands name and gave them a hard time until they changed it. So, as a result the name the Nobs was used for the two day concert. Now any video with the nobs also changes the songs name for legal reasons (I think). "The Precipitation Song" = Rain Song, "At the Moment of my Death"= In my Time of Dying, etc. Its actually quite funny, and most of these are bootlegs.
It seems like they played some of the songs really fast at earls court like this one and trampled underfoot. They were probably just exited and having fun.
Shame they don't release this officially....or maybe they will sometime in the future? And for fuck's sake leave Robert's chatting in there....it's so good to hear.
yeah, i aint sayin they werent fantastic and forceful, but i think also some of it had to do with reputation. Alot fo what an audience walks away with is what they walked in with: expectations. If they expect Hendrix to be the best, then chances are they are gonna walk away thinking he was the best. particularly at Woodstock
One of my favorite Zeppelin songs - JPJ and JB played the intro with different flourishes many times but it always sounded great. Get your hands on the drumming from the 6.21.77 boot entitled "Listen To This Eddie". Phenomenal drumming and Plant's voice sounded better than most of the '75 tour.
are you kidding in 75 plant had an amzing voice this is the 25th of earls court and his voice was eshausted i have may boots that show that plant was fantastic in 75 and had alot of power.. he was better in 75 than 77 but i have to agree that in 77 he was more controlled = ]
'77 much better and more constant for Plant, it's hard to beat "listen to this eddie" Kashmir. '75 he suffered more from the flu early and he didn't clear up till the late March shows. the LA and Seattle 1975 in particular the 21st were really good nights.
I dunno, probaly something to do with zeppelin being so stuborn about releasing there videos, I also heard that zeppelin wouldent peform at woodstock just cause they wouldent share the stage with anyone else, thats just the way they are I guess.
Really?! Where did he say that? I just heard that zeppelin as a whole never wanted to do it, and if it were my guess id say Page probaly would stick to that.
i dunno, i think Hendrix and Santana would probably have owned them. Zep just hadnt really come into their own yet. They were actualyl playing a few blocks away when Woodstock was happening
theres something about zeppelin that doesn't quite say quintecential (sp?) hippie to me. Im sure its different for whoever reads this though. They seemed like at any point they were exploring musical boundries, which didnt necessarily mean it fit in with psychadelic hippie shit. However, lets not forget the festivals that they did perform at and destroy ie isle of white.

cause Irish Cofee has :)

I meant why would IRISH tea have SCOTCH whiskey in it. It would have IRISH whiskey in it, not Scotch.
Nevermind...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
That was wayyyy past their prime, early 70's was when they were a tight band, and before jimmy dabbled with heroin.

Maybe Plant, but Page was fine. It was the end of a huge tour, and a week at Earl's Court. '77 was when his playing started to suffer.
