I'm in Arizona what do I need to hunt one other then the permit and tags I know that already but what else? I looked at a Cougar hunting website and they charged like 3,000 in total I just want to get one so bad one time how can I cheaper?
I enjoy the idea of hunting, but I am very cautious of those that say they hunt for the meat when it involves lion, bear, cougar, etc. I heard it is a terrible meat, and most the time it is just to kill. I also think the excuse about population control is weak. There is one animal out there that is way over populated . . . .LOL. Anyway if you truly are doing this for harvesting, and not trophy, great and many props to you. If for anything else, very sad ! ! !
Nice dogs and awesome videos, mountains lions could be dangerous for children when getting close to humans. This guys are a great team, instead of killing inoffensive poor deers they are after killing machine mountain lions, there are many families living with small children in areas where these lions approach homes looking for food.
I think you would have to agree that more than hunting or harvesting anything; you blasted the lion out of a tree with a bunch of stooges watching on going, Goody Goody Goody!! You are pathetic dude. The Colorado Mountains would be better off with less people like you and more mountain lions. Just Sayin...you know I'm right- That is NOT HUNTING it's just KILLING- La Whooo Za Her
this is the best hound hunting video i have ever seen. ive been looking for one like this for awhile. i really like how you guys show the hunt from stat to finish. all of the other videos i see are just of the kill. theres nothing wrong with that but i would rather see a hunt from start to finish. good job. have you guys ever thought about puting out a actrual dvd or video. i think you should consider it.
Great video remember that this took several days to get to this point with a lot of training and work to get those dogs to this point. I'm a houndsmen also and catch 1 or 2 of those endangered Ca. lions 5 out of the last 6 years with-in a mile of a dozen homes.
Many people don't like the idea of hunting and are trying to prevent it from happening. We hunt for meat, but we also hunt for population control. If there is no control over wild game, the animals become overpopulated and can create more harm to all aspects of life. Hunting is an important industry to all of us, but many people have the wrong views of it. If animals weren't harvested, there'd be disease in plant and animal life and cause all of us to suffer.
On top of that, we don't buy beef. I would much rather eat something I killed than buy something jacked up with hormones and chemicals for consumers. At least I know what I'm eating and that it was properly handled after harvesting. I find that to be a huge advantage to hunting, I know what I'm eating.
All right thanks for the info! I've really started growing more and more open minded about hunting and its always good to learn about it before criticizing! Thanks!
That's a very good question, we harvested this lion for meat, for a trophy as well as deer population. One mt. lion can kill up to 80 deer a year, just one lion. In all honesty though, they taste great!
Without dogs, it's very difficult to harvest a lion. The skill of these dogs blows our minds every time we're out. Guys give credit to their pointers and pheasant dogs, these lion dogs deserve the world. For those who don't find this fair, what's the difference between lion hunting with dogs and pheasant hunting with dogs? Both animals are free to go when they want, they are not held by the dogs. Trust me, many times the lion gets away.

I always hate seeing animals get killed but if you use the animal for meat I am fine with it.
