  • The reason this happens is because the map data for those areas 'swaps' or 'refreshes' incorrectly due to a numeric terrain-type variable within FFVI. In the World of Balance, the area around Narshe's Encounter Index (EI) is 10. The Veldt has a unique manner of managing Encounters, however, due to the fact that you can fight monsters from all over in it - it uses a random-number generator to choose an EI, which also effects how the music transitions into the combat setting. 1/2

  • @danyetman That area around Narshe that you discovered has the same Veldt EI, but contains only the enemy data for that specific area, ie, EI #10. The random number generator therefore cycles about a 32/256 chance of entering combat with the "Veldt Combat" value enabled, so the music transitions in and overrides the standard battle music.

  • u can do this on the veldt in the world of balance on the upper north part corner i believe that will have the same background and music playing. I cannot remember if the world of ruin has the same spot is still available.

  • Sweet find.

  • I knew about this one...

  • I like this glitch! The regular battle music isn't as cool. Thank God the boss battle music makes up for it.

  • Standard battle theme is one of the weaker ones, not nearly as good as in FF4, 5, 7 or 9.

  • @ComradeSephiroth in my opinion, the final fantasy i battle theme is the best. but i also think that final fantasy vi's battle theme is way better than 7 or 9-although I have to admit that 4 and 5 are better.

  • Music didnt change o.0

    Nice glitch ! 5/5
