The Future of Music V: The Craft of iPad Music-making (Short)

Technology is great and all, but without skills, talent and a creative imagination it’s not worth much. You can hear when a song or a piece of music is written by a real musician vs a hack or PC junky. The hacks’ song usually sounds like you listening to a fax machine receiving a fax. Where is the music in that???

Making music is a talent and is learned.

It's not something that anyone can do by just playing a loop, that's not "being" a musician. A Musician learns how to play music because of the love of it and it's that drive that creates the desire to learn.

Some are able to play something they created by themselves and others just play loops created by others!

We have already millions of sounds virtual instruments, sequencers etc. The only thing I miss is talent, and hard work to learn music. The future should help to learn music, tools that makes it easier to learn (not to simulate playing!!). You can not make music if you dont learn it. This sh... with: NOW everybody can make music!! It is so easy! forget it! Music is not easy and need time... and talent. A good thing is that you dont need anymore a lot of money to record music!

Future? I see only the same. Big kids playing with repetitive loops... I would like to see tools for musicians (helping tools for working as musician, not toys making "funny" loops"), I mean musicians who can play instruments and study music...
