  • how old is robin

  • Wait. They stop Robin going into the club because he's underage, but they clearly see, yet let him drive the Batmobile?

  • reamake this damn show and put it on hbo

  • batman is not a good dancer he should stay a crime fighter

  • If only for the discotheque scene, this rocked. The music and the young adults were classing up the joint.

  • Does anyone know if you can get a Riddler costume like the one worn by Frank Gorshin in this scene?

  • I laughed my ass off when Batman danced

  • @thebehmont1

    I know, hilarious stuff.

  • Who takes orders from a dude wearing tights?

  • @clpearson991 I would.

  • @clpearson991 Ballet students?

  • The rules seem completely turned upside-down in this series.

In the modern, Batman ambushes the bad guys. Here, the bad guys ambushes Batman.

  • This is my favourite episode from this series Frank Gorshin was amazing as the Riddler I preferred when he wore the green tights outfit I was never fussy on the suit he wore.

  • @kirk8472 The suit was nice. He nneded the staff though, like John Astin did.

  • Holy Headaches! What is that dastardly device they're using on Robin?!?!?

  • Riddlers a good shot

  • You shake a mean cape Batman

  • -dies-

  • Watching Batman dance is hilarious. xD

  • Batman and Robin really aren't putting up a good fight in this episode, are they?

  • Glover AVE. john glover hmmm

  • "You shake a pretty mean cape Batman" hahaha. I miss this show so much!

  • A large fresh orange juice? Better get that long island ice tea you rookie!

  • @pfunk2800 Maybe he signaled or made a gesture to mean that he wanted a "hard" orange juice, perhaps a Screwdriver lol.

  • i liked frank girshwin as riddler but the guy who played gomez adams sucked in the role

  • "The man-hole, stupid."

  • 9 minutes later, my chops have not improved, and this was not even a standard rudiment. Fuck.

  • I thought this was going to be a hybrid rudiment. Fuck.

  • BATMAN SHOULD HAVE NOT TRIED TO FIND ROBIN AS A DRUNK. HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE EVEN IF THE COPS DID NOT ARRIVE.

  • CAN NOT BEAT BATMOBILE!

  • Does Riddler kiss Robin at 4:17?

  • @yared94 --no, supposedly checking to see if he's breathing.

  • Batman is one suave dude!

  • hes a good actor and all but i just don't think they should have cast him to be the Riddler, he brings too much of a Joker-ish feel to it, just my opinion

  • @xCoopazx That "feel" was what made a second rate villain at the time into a hard core keeper for the series both comic and TV wise. Even The Joker was supposed to die in the comics if it wasn't for the whim of the head guy of the comic writers, and that's all it was, a whim.

  • OMG Batmans dancing!

  • "You interest me, strange lady." lol, who says that

  • @dogwhisperer777 i think i might from now on

  • Haha I know a Ginger named Molly...ah coincidences, what would we do without you? :P

  • Comment removed

  • 4:18 the Riddler kissed Boy Wonder (Robin) in the lips lol

  • batman's gt a mint six pack

  • @DreamingofAz, true, Robin didn't get his driver's license until later in the series, but he could drive if he had a learner's permit, with adult supervision. Batman was still there when Robin parked the Batmobile, therefore he was supervised. :)

  • @KVNDV1 Also, Robin never left the parking lot. You don't need a license to drive in a parking lot.

  • "You interest me, strangely".

I wonder how many single guys used THAT pickup line.

  • So the scene where Robin gets shot in the arm was supposed to be a one take scene. Burt Ward (Robin) was told all he had to do was stay still while they shot fireworks out of the batmobile..... the fireworks burned through his cape and he ended up going to the hospital with third degree burns, but he stayed still through the entire shot and it was the one take scene they wanted

  • Robin can't go in the club, but he can drive the car? I thought he didn't have his license yet :)

  • "Curses, it's got more lives than a cat!"

  • you have to love Btaman dancing :D:D Macarron....:D

  • Guess there was honor and integrity among the villans and the dynamic duo. Why didn't the Riddler take off Robin's mask? Afterall, wouldn't he be curious, now that Robin is unconscious from a mickey dart, to know who it is?

  • who's the doll that Batman dances with?

  • Did The Riddler kiss Robin?!?!

  • lmao on these comments. It would been more funny it the police would of told batman to get out an walk the line and have batman refuse. Then have the police slam him down on the hood of the batmoblie yelling then took Robin they took Robin. lol

  • @ 1:07 totally groovy

  • Drunk batman is just hilarious. XDDD And only one glass of orange juice too that lightweight!

  • @guruguruponchan27 it was a pill not liquor

  • poor ROBIN

  • Only Frank Gorshin can wear such an outfit and still be respectable.

  • what they should've done is take robin, than knock out the drunken batman and unmask them at their hideout. why bother with the batmobile?

  • R.I.P Frank Gorshin.

  • "Outta mah way, Ossifer! I gotta go find Wobin!" Drunk Batman is epic stuff.

  • THIS is why you don't drink.

  • Holy dance-off! Batman can't hold his orange juice! :P

  • At 1:28...that gesture. "Yeah, you got me...and you know you want a slice of this."

  • JILL SAINT JOHN!

  • Batman: I was drugged

    Robin: With what?

    Batman: Rufilin

Robin: There you go again with that word rufilin!

  • Burt just gets manhandled all the time in this series, doesn't he? lol

  • Batman is a really good dancer.

  • I alwyas thought this show was gay growing up but does The Riddler really kiss Robin @ 4:18?

  • @goolagong68 haha, he totally does! That's just creepy...

  • @goolagong68 Yes, it is part of the culture of Hollywood types and doubtless was improvised.

  • Why not just shoot Robin with a gun and get it over with?

  • U shouldn't wish to attract attention? LOL

  • Robin says "hey, give me the car, I'll pick up my own chicks"

  • The entire bit in the Discotech, this is a prime example of when the show goes from simply being campy to being a striaght up comedy/spoof .

  • Jill St. John was smokin' hot!

  • wtf batdance???

  • I love the Bat Mobile

  • 3.05 lol

  • The Batusi is proabably the funniest part of this.

  • @onemellowdude Yes, even then Hollywood types were like this.

  • its so funny when batman says "I shouldn't wish to attract attention"

    lol

  • 5.50 - 5.55 mighty fine cleavage !

  • I'm so glad TVLand hadn't (yet) started having annoying voice-over advertisements during the end credits. Or, I'm glad FanOfBats was able to remove the voice-overs if there were any.

  • Classic scene lolllll Man I had to watch this like three times. "You interest me", "Batman Special" LOLLLLL

  • @onemellowdude Yea in my defence it was a bad day and I was half asleep, I thought you said KILL but you put KISS and I just re-read it

  • I dont think batman can stand at this point in the show...besides its the very first ep EVER aired no way they could kill robin off on the first ep...DUH

  • "I shouldn't wish to attract attention." I'M JUST DRESSED IN A BATSUIT!

  • damn imagine if batman got hit with a dui . damn that would make for good tv.

  • lol batman "drunk" lol.

  • Batman getting groovy

  • Am i the only one who could have sworn the Riddler just kissed Robin?

    God I'm blind D:

  • 4:18 must bleach brain of creepiness.

  • BAT DANCE !???! 555+

  • riddle me this...did batman get drunk on OJ?????

  • it was spiked oj.

  • God damn, I thought Bruce Wayne was supposed to be a partier, but after one drink he's drunk off his ass? Either he chugged straight rum with a hint of OJ or he's just a HUGE lightweight

  • 6:18 batman's drunk driving.. what the hell kind of orange juice gets you DRUNK????

  • The kind that's been spiked!!

Exactly, Robin!! And where do you find liquor to perform this deed?

Robin: At the liquor mart, of course!!

Batman: Right again, old chum!! To the Batnobile!! We've got some spiriters to spirit away!!

  • it had a sleeping pill in it

  • the fact that Batman made a live appearance at the disco reminds me of "Batman & Robin"

  • batman got drunk... off orange juice?

  • @dontKILLmyCAT Remember the orange juice had a dope.

  • Batman can even dance? Superman got nothin' on this shit.

  • "Don't worry Batman, I can take care of myself."

Batman leaves, Robin instantly gets kidnapped LOL.

I think a lot of people mistake the painful awfulness of this show for being unintentional, but it's not supposed to be true to Batman it was supposed to be parodying how silly the Batman comics had become. In a way, fans of the modern Batman owe this show because it forced the comic to start treating the Batman material seriously again.

  • @shebird1 love to see you dodge a knock out dart

  • @shebird1 Here here!

  • the bat-dance

  • orange juice is batman's drink of choice =P

  • orajuice batman´s special

  • Honestly, before anything else the mask would've came off of Robin lying on that table.

  • The Bat Signal! I thought they only had the phone.

  • they only showed the bat signal in certain episodes.

  • 3:32 the infamous "Batman on Drugs"

  • Hahaha, Batman was gonna get a DUI.

  • gogo batman lol cute dance :}

  • the old Batmobile is awesome

  • hahahah these old batmans are just so funny

  • lol batman danceing and i know the name for his dance its called the batusi

  • robin is not under age he is the boy wonder

  • Best car alarm ever.

  • Did that girl just say "Gleeps" or was it me?

  • She indeed said "Gleeps!"

  • When does she say that?

  • This nightclub scene has so many funny moments..."I shouldn't want to attract attention"..... Batman special (orange juice)....Batman dancing...."My drink....DOPED!"

  • "I wouldn't want to attract attention" lol.. very funny... kinda too late for that Batman...

  • Is This the ghastly end of our dynamic duo???

Well, it IS the first episode...

  • Robin is too young to go inside but old enough to drive the batmobile

how old is he meant to be?

  • He could be 16 or 17.

  • fair dos

  • @talkape Well considering you can get your learner's permit at age 15 and can't drink until you're 21....although with the time period of the 60's I'm not sure what the age was for either.

  • @billwenham Drinking age was 18 then, up until at least the 80's.

  • @mrdcoolblue Until around 84 here. I don't know when it changed in Gotham City.

  • @talkape Burt Ward was 19 at the time

  • @puterboy1 Actually, Burt Ward was a few months from his 21st birthday (born July 6, 1945) when this first aired.

  • It's funny how the people coming out of the nightclub just stand there and watch the kidnapping in process

  • Can I check your cape?? Holy crap!!

  • This was the best Batmobile. My opinion.

  • I agree!

  • i agree

  • same here

  • Batman doing the Batusi with Jill St John

  • Yeah, because you'd really walk into a crowded bar as batman and say 'I don't wish to attract attention'

  • lol he has a lawsuit on him but yet he shows up at a bar

  • is that william dozier that offers him a table...the announcer between episodes

  • I never noticed that before I really think that is Kudos to you good sir =)

  • So this is where Batman on drugs came from!

  • I laugh when people will watch that but dont even reconize the batman series or the actor who plays him LOL

  • i love how Robin passes out!!

  • the thing that always bugs me is while robin is unconcious they could of looked under his mask and found dick grayson i mean come on :p

  • @fanofbats12345 Or even took it off and cut it in half. How would you explain to Aunt Harriet her nephew wears tights and gets excited easily?

  • Cool. I forgot that Batman invented the car alarm!

Check out the other cars in the lot. Only in Hollywood ---uh I mean Gotham...could you pull those together in a dark alley.

  • "Down the manhole, stupid!" Great stuff!

  • Wow.. Batman cannot hold his liquor. You would think Bruce would have a better tolerance.

  • Accually his drink was spiked with a drug.

  • Well I knew it was spiked, but I'm saying, in general, you would think that bachelor Bruce could hold his liquor. ;p

  • He wasn't expecting it.

  • omg even if i was to young id still kick them and go in anyway oh thanks fanofbats your a real pro

  • Batman's lowest ebb being thought of as a drunk

  • "Floorside table, Batman?"

"No thanks, I'll just stand at the bar. I shouldn't want to attract attention."

    OMG! Gets me every time!

  • THERE YOU GO If you wanna a beat a Check Stop

Be sure to dress like Batman and yell out 'WHERE HAVE THEY TAKEN ROBIN..."

It gets me thru not matter how drunk I am

  • lol

  • Riddler had batman ruined, but he went another step further so Batman could foil him.

  • OMG batman looks stupid when dancing xD

  • this is great!!. the first episode of the dinamic duo in action with the riddler, riddle me this, riddle me that...

  • at the risk of ruining it for everyone, how do they know robin's not old enough without carding him?

  • ...Lucky guess?

  • Batman's drunk!

  • When I was a kid I took this so seriously

even though it was fun to watch. Now as an

adult it is so absurd and ridiculas. But still fun. That is Jill St. John by the way

at the bar. She was Charles Bronson's wife.

  • @TIPTON340 she's magnificent

  • the start/anti-theft button switch was pretty clever

  • "I shouldn't wish to attract attention..." Nooo, that couldn't happen LOL

  • all the drunk chicks love the batman.

  • Ahh, well I see what you mean, you are right about that. Batman is more than just beating up a few thugs and scaring a few mobsters(with an annoying graveling voice, my only big gripe with Christian Bale). But you have to admit that the performances were done really well. Especially Heath Ledger as the Joker, who even if he were alive would be a shoe in for an Oscar nomination. I have read The Long Halloween and Two Face's origin was done decent, but I would have liked to see The Holiday Killer

  • So your the Ebert of the world, lol In other words very hard to please, lol nah just kidding. I loved the Dark Knight, but am interested in hearing your reasons for not liking it. I like a good film debate. I'm like Siskel a bit, but can still please better than both.

  • I agree completely, the strength of The Riddler, the "True" Riddler is that he is one of Batman's most intelligent foes, just a bit of a nut. That's why I think Steve Buscemi would be great, he has the right look, he has played smart crazy characters before. If he can take that and just take away the humor, than he'd be perfect.

  • I agree completely Frank Gorshin played The Riddler very 60's Joker-like. Caeser Romero was good, but seemed the tamest of all the villains. When Jim Carrey played the role, he seemed to mix Jim Carrey up with Frank Gorshin's Riddler, which was ok, but could have been done better. Now hopefully the next one who dons the Riddler name can play him the way he was meant to be played. I'd have to say either Johnny Depp(who seems to be the top choice)or Steve Buscemi.
