  • i have 44 keloids throughout my entire body. [most are on my shoulders and chest but i do have some on my stomach, lower back and legs] Most of them are small

They all originated from when i had a bad case of chicken pox in kindergarten. I've never experienced any pain or extreme itching in the areas.

4 years ago i developed a large one on the back of my left earlobe [the classic area] and had to get it surgically removed. The keloid hasn't grown back and the way mine look has never bothered me

  • keloids are the most painful fucking things in the world i have one on my chest and i want to shoot it off!!!!

  • Are you kidding me? My keloids on my chest and back are worst. They itch like hell. So I have to scratch it. I can't wear a tank top and any low cut shirt. People will stare at it. What kind of medical treatment are doing with your keloids? Do they work?

  • i can't wear tank tops at all but i will soon!! ok DO NOT GET SURGERY!!! it will grow back and worse. There are these things called steroid injections. You get a shot in your keiloids every month and the keloids will flatten and match your skin. But keep in mind that they won't totally disappear but that's what make up is for.

  • @OS253 I have about 12 keloids on my chest. They are bright red and itch when my allergies come up. Ik DO wear tank tops and low cut shirts, beacause I'm not ashamed of it. But I do understand the agony of people staring, so I actually started wearing scarfs more frequently. My scars get treated by a dermatologist. I get injections and two lasers every 6 weeks. It's painful as hell, but I basically have nothing to lose. The scars have gotten slightly flatter and I've been getting treatment[1/2]

  • @OS253 for about a year now. I always knew it was gonna take a long time. At least two years. Maybe you should see your doctor and ask if they know a good dermatologist who can treat your scars like they do mine. I hope I helped! (if I made any grammar mistakes, I'm Dutch:P)

  • @OS253 oh and I got silicone pads (: Haven't tried them yet, because I still have some small wounds from the injections

  • the alcohol seriously work? but i tried the silicon gel.and it work on me..the keloid became smaller. so if the keloid formation is lost or became invisible, will it form at the same place again or diff places?

  • @lollipopguiwang, keloids will only develop in a different place if you injure a different place on your body. and even if you injure yourself, there is no way to tell if a keloid will develop or not. i've had keloids since my teenage years. i've learned to accept them because trust me, THEY ARE SOME STUBBORN MOFOS..LOL

  • Thanks for the question DJuggz06. My son used the alchol as soon as he could see a keloid formation for about 3 months. Timing and the location of the scaring could determine the outcome. Keloids are so unpredictable most of the time. You never know where one will form and sometimes you will not know the reason for the keloid formation. There need to be a study on the effects of rubbing alcohol and the keloid. It has not worked on all keloid but it has worked.

  • i have redness around my eyes from over using achne medication. 1 does anyone think this is due to a low level chemical burn? 2 does anybody know how to cure this?

  • 1. whats the medication called?

    2. stop using the medication, if it does not subside after 1-2 weeks, see a General practitioner or dermatologist.

  • u can get those remove my doctor tolld me to just put a silicon gel path on the keloid u can buy the at Walgreen's 5-30 bucks i have a keloid in my chest and idk i havent tryd the silicon gel path

    but i will

  • I had a small mole removed, in my right armpit area, and it was stitched up, then after the stitches were taken out a small neat straight scar was left behind. After a few weeks it changed shape into a bump, very sensitive. Turns out i have keloid scarring, i am irish and caucasian, and i'd love to have a facial piercing, lip.... but i'm unsure what to do, the doctor was to be honest a misleading asshole, so any tips?

  • i'd try piercing something not as visible as ur ear or face first, leave it in for a 5 days- week, take out the piercing. let it heal over a few weeks, then see how the scar looks, if it turns out ok, then its ok.

Different people have different skin types so it would be hard to know for you, you would know what ur skin is like.

  • My son hurt himself when he was younger. He rubbed his healed injury site daily with alcohol swabs because a long disfiguring keloid was forming at the site. Miraculoulsy the keloid formation started to diminish. It is almost impossible to see the keloid now! You would have to get very close to him and search for the area that the keloid was in. A study need to be done on the effects of rubbing alcohol and the keloid. It has not worked on all keloid but it has worked.

  • how long did he use the alcohol wipes for?

i heard some plant oils with vitamin E could help for scarring, i've never tried it though. for me, depending on where i get cut and how deep, depends on weather it forms a keloid.

  • DERMATIX

  • I get keloids from deep wounds. I just might be one of the few caucasions that gets these nasty looking scars. They are a real pain to get rid of. For people out there looking for information. You can go to a plastic surgeon and get it removed and then go to radiology. The radiation will impeade the healing process and help the skin grow back normally. The problem with keloids is that they over heal for the deep wound. The radiation is safe and does not penetrate the skin for cosmetic scars.

  • Some keloids appear spontaneously without any surgery or trauma to the skin. Acne on the back or chest can cause them too.
