  • for another variation of the same song check "Nina Nikolina - Ti li si maistor Manole"

    watch?v=sDQIrtelWMk

  • Bulgarian song taught to Sonja Drakulich to sing in Bulgarian language by her Bulgarian singing teachers. (check StellaMara web site). Original name "Ti li si maistor Manole". Song not about town Strumica (check lyrics) but about bridge over river Struma (river in Bulgaria, check map). Strumica - town it today's FYRoM, formerly, when song was created, in Ottoman Turk Empire (check hystory). Song clearly not Turkish.

  • @nikolaaay Lol Manole?? Did this man Manole was a bricklayer master? Romanians have a legend about Master Manole who built a monastery here in Romania and imprisoned his wife Ana in the walls of the church. Search on wikipedia: "Mesterul Manole".

  • @dreacul Could very well be the same legendary person - maistor = master crafsman, here builder. The Romanian Wiki legend also exist in Bg, the version I know is about a bridge, his wife ends up built in it. In Bg the name is Manol; in songs they add this type of endings, like the -e here.

  • @nikolaaay That's so cool! We have the monastery were legends say it happened there a stone on the wall supposed to be related. It`s cool to discover such things! Perhaps is a old legend told by builders. anyway...romanians and bulgarians are very related let`s be honest.:) There a vlach song in Serbia (Timok valley) called "Cantecul lui Manoilo" /watch?v=RQYqBDH5A5A

  • @nikolaaay I heard from some aromanians/vlachs that is about the construction of the bridge from Arta.

  • THIS IS NOT BULGARIAN SONG, ITS ABOUT MACEDONIAN TOWN STRUMICA. SINGER IS HALF SERBIAN AND HALF HUNGARIAN GIRL.

  • I love this kind of thing. What genre is it called?

  • на Бъгларски е =] нашенски I'm proud to be bulgarian :)))

  • IT'S JUST SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! XO I love it! Thank you for posting!

  • Strumica-Town in Macedonia

  • can someone translate the lyrics?

  • Strumica e vo Jugoistocna Republika Makedonija ili vo centarot na CELA MAKEDONIJA. Znaci Strumica e vo centarot na makedonstinata. Pozdrav do site makedonci vo svetot.

  • what language is this?

  • @reja57 Bulgarian written with latin letters...as for the song - magnificent. There is no matter where this town is Macedonia, formal Bulgaria or whatever else. Our cultures are forever bond together and this is what they present.

  • @reja57 macedonian or a dialect of bulgarian. Stumica is a diminutive from Sruma a river in Bulgaria and Greece. The original title of the bulgarian song is "ti li si majstor manol" this is a tragic story of constructor's woman (Struma or Strumica) who find death in the construction of a bridge over Struma (the river). The name of the real bridge is "Kadin most"

  • @vilialice And the lyrics:

Ti li si majstor Manole, mosta gradil nad Struma, nad Struma, Strumica

ti li si majstor Manole sam vgradil v strani nevesta Strumica

  • @reja57 it`s on bulgarian language

  • the first notes hooked me, its very good indeed!
