This was a very weird episode of Pyramid. I give Joan props for not cursing out her two teammates. Sometimes if were just playing a little game and we make mistakes we carry on with life. If it's the Pyramid and we lost alot of money we can forgive but never forget since we want to win the money. This episode is a true example of how kinks are in a show at the begining but are resolved somewhere along the road. I give this episode 3 stars; things were too weird and very nerve wracking.
I wish I could invent a time machine, take a VCR, my TV set and some blank tapes with me, and tape every episode of the show in first-run from 1973 to 1991, and treasure them for years and years to come.
It's possible that "The $10,000 Pyramid", at least the remaining 210 or so episodes of the short-lived CBS run, might still exist. Didn't CBS abandon their policy of wiping game shows sometime during the end of the 60's and the beginning of the 70's?
You may be right. It would have been good if the other networks would have done the same sooner, although I've heard rumours that tapes that are thought to have been destroyed for other shows are still collecting dust in a vault somewhere.
That would be nice. I know that people thought the CBS episodes of "The Joker's Wild" were wiped, until GSN found out that someone at WCBS-TV had airchecks that included the show.
My guess is they are lost in the vaults waiting for someone to find them. spin-off was belived to be destroyed then all the episodes were found intact. I hope it's the same with $10,000 Pyramid. I wish I could go look for them.
@vnisanian2001 Following the short lived "Amateur's Guide to Love", CBS has preserved every game show from 1972 on so that plus Gambit, Hollywood's Talking, and Musical Chairs may still be around.... somewhere.
@gameshowluvr86 haha forget VCR... bring your DVR! or Blu-ray burner to get the highest quality possible. :D And don't forget to bring some plutonium for your trip back.. or some garbage if you installed Mr. Fusion to your time machine. heheh
@vnisanian2001 I'm with you on this. I'd have to rent storage space to house all of this good stuff. No credit crunches here--what a disrespectful practice if you ask me.
No fee plugs(or were they edited out by GSN)?

Do you have more $10,000 Pyramid episodes? If so could you post them?

The prize consideration notices at the end of this episode were done with Vidifont. The credit roll, however, was old-school.

If only it were that simple. I would want to do the same with this and other shows which are thought to be lost forever on tape.
