You sound like Charlie Sheen! Not in the crazy, bi-polar way - just in the 'it sounds like Charlie Sheen is trying to teach me how to paint a space marine' sort of way. You know.

oh yeah and what is that putty stuff or as you called it in the video *green stuff/junk* just wondering as i usually just(when i still made them)jam them into the base(also i did lord of the rings guys with swords and guys with high-power guns are not to be mixed up)
i have been thinking about getting into 40K for a while but now i think i'm going to head to my local gameswrokshop and pick up a set of these and if you have the time whats a good starter set to get? and since i'm probbbly going to play with them what faction? i prefer (you can guess this) humans but anything is fine space marines are cool though anyway i would be happy if you answerd but dosent matter*5/5 10/10* great video!!!
I AM SO THANKFUL for your videos. ive always been a fan of modeling, i became a true fan of warhammer 40K fan after playing the PC games of warhammer 40k. And i though why not get an army of my own? I got 12 space marines last week and i was...Where do i start? Youre videos have been extremely helpful, Thank you for taking the time in making them for the community who love this hobby. Best regards...Keep on rocking.
Awesome vids Chris! Great recommendations on the tools of the hobby (we pretty much have the same stuff) but I'd have to disagree with you on the hobby knife. That type of knife holds the blade to loosely. You don't have as much control. I used that starting out. So far the best knife for me has been the GW. Yes it's overpriced but it's got a rubberized grip with an ergonomic shape. X-Acto's are a bit too narrow for me. Anyway, to each his own. Again great job Chris.=) Great job.
I have the same knife. I extend the blade a bit and then press my finger against one side (with my holding hand) to make sure the blade dousn't wiggle or anything. I had the same problem you had until I started doing this
That tends to happen quite a bit with GW models. The best approach is to either remove the tab from the miniature's feet completely and just glue the feet to the base OR, if you're in for some filing...you can file the tab on all 4 sides until it is thin enough to fit in the slot on the base.
Hi there. If you wish to use sandpaper, that is always a possibility, as are files. I personally have never been into either one of them as I find they are generally too messy and I can get the same result with my hobby knife.
4) Generally I do not scrub models. There are a few exceptions that I will discuss later.
5) Brush soap is available at art supply stores...model and hobby stores rarely carry the stuff.
As far as demonstrating the use of the soap goes, after the holidays, we will be releasing a set of DVD's on how to paint. We are currently finishing the filming and editing process, but one of the sections IS a section on how to properly clean brushes.
i just started and my space marines guns do not fit all the way in. they are regular space marines can u help because i do not want to destroy them.

First rule of using Knives of any sort, cut AWAY from yourself.
I'm a carpet fitter and not adhering to this rule has left me with lots of cut fingers.

I glued my base using super glue

I purchase mine from TheWarStore. It's an online retailer for most things wargaming related. And, it's very cheap too.

im new to this stuff, im getting my first set soon, and i just want to ask are the actual marines metal?
JaZZZZZz666 3 years ago
Most marines are NOT metal. Most are plastic. The only metal marines are the ones that come in blister packs instead of the boxed sets.

do we have to use the green stuff?
pussypop18 3 years ago
You can use superglue instead of greenstuff if you wish. The only difference is that the model will not be quite as "clean" looking.
AGProductionsInc 3 years ago
Question 4: GW recommends that you should scrub the model with soap and water... do you do that?
Question 5: Where did you pick up your cleaning bucket, as well as the Brush Soap?
Question 6: How does one use brush soap? I would figure that scrubbing a brush would destroy the bristles.
