  • Wow, what a great yet simple drill! It's really true that if you can't bent your elbow up in dry land you have slim changes to do it in water.

  • Holy crap this guy pulls deep.

  • great tip thank you! this is probably why i tend to catch better with my right arm rather then left. i'll have to work on it

  • Very interesting - looking forward to trying this out in the pool tomorrow

  • Arm on the side of the pool demonstration is genious. I love how you all come up with these things. My kids just don't understand how to Twist their elbow while extending. This helps so much!

  • How good is his demonstration? Elbow seems tobe dropping too early?

  • Hence the reason for doing the drill.

  • lol just that normally your shown what to aim for in the water, thats what seemed odd

  • It's not that bad. lol. Also, you're probably judging the "dropped elbow" from the front, and don't forget, high elbow isn't just about the height in the water, but rather, the distance in front of the body that the catch is initiated.

  • @goswim098 HI i have q uestion about freestyle. When you do the catch is your arm suppose to vertical because I see videos of almost all good swimmers bending their elbows 45 degrees to the body, not 90 degrees straight. So are we suppose to bend them or keep the "high elbow" straight underwater. I couldnt find any videos on this specific info, please tell me if you know.
