  • Mark Knopfler IS the God of guitar

  • jealous!

  • and after two thousand came two thousand and one <3

  • spendide

  • Yep, this version is really a very beautiful one. I saw the concert in Hamburg 2006, and already this violin intro ... wow.

Those were one of the best 15 minutes I had so far ...

This years tour version was also great, though. And accompanied by a far more rockin setlist.

  • Precisely- Stuart Duncan is one brilliant musician. (Alison Krauss calls him THE best fiddler- high praise from a master.)

We were blown away by them in '06 in NYC- for one, by "Done With Bonaparte"- Stuart again.

Love the DVD recorded in LA, too.

Alison, on tour with Robert Plant this year, did an awesome piece with Stuart, where the two played in harmony. Awesomely beautiful.

  • I was there, and it was the best spend 2 hours in 2006!

  • This theme was a true surprise when I heard it for the first time (live). I immediately fell in love with it.

    Just awesome!

  • I love the version played during the 'All the Roadrunning' tour!! Hes appears to have reduced the ending in tempo ever so slightly here - lovely change! (and not that its EVER been played badly by him)

  • neverheard this before, pretty like it :)

  • Never ? I hope you mean this version and not the song! I promise you, the last 2 minutes of this live, you have goosebumps all over you body :| ; )

  • ... great , great , great !!!!
