Square is great UNTIL you need customer support. Their Support is NON EXISTENT. Try looking up their customer support phone number. It's NOT on their site. It's NOT toll-free. They do have a toll-number (that's OK), but it ALWAYS rolls to voicemail. And they NEVER return calls. Look up their rating at the BBB. It's a C! Do you want to give a company with a C rating unlimited access to your bank account? I wish I'd done my research before I got my Square reader.
@rkuipers01 I'm glad for you. My SINGLE experience with Square has been extremely disappointing. My customer OK'ed the transaction after initially disputing it, but Square took the money out of my account within 24 hours of the dispute and has not replied in more than 2 weeks despite numerous email & voicemail messages
My advice to others who are using the service: check out the support options. Try to contact them and decide if their lack of support is worth it for you. Not for me!
@rkuipers01 I actually had a problem with getting my square account and talked to there customer service and they fixed my problem in about half and hour! I was impressed because i had heard there CS was horrable.
do you have to be online to use this? My data coverage sucks and im afraid the receipt won't go through at all. It would be fine if later when i have internet access it goes through but, der are times i have no access to internet and my business can take place anywhere anytime. Thanks! and im not a drug dealer!
It's a small point but one that caused me to replay several times. This is a device for YOU to get payments from your customers, whether cash (check?) or card. It is NOT a device for you to make payments. The fee is for every transaction, regardless of monetary source. Having had a bricks and mortar business and paid all those outrageous leasing and transaction fees, this is a godsend and the best thing since applesauce.
all i`m saying is I NEVER had a single problem with there service. works flawless for me.

it has me put the last 4 digits of my social security? pretty sketchy if you ask me
sk8erbaker500 6 months ago
@sk8erbaker500 Your a moron dude, your lucky they dont ask for the full social..!
If they didn't verify your identity people would use this for illegal card transactions..
Go get a credit card, dish network, etc.. They WILL REQUIRE your full social

@MrMrAppleMan What are they charging you on then? From your other transactions? If its cash they are still charging for transaction with a receipt?

@ofangels3 yeah it's under options and you can charge a % of tips.

Is there a place for tips?
ofangels3 10 months ago
@ofangels3 Yes, they have a tipping feature that is very easy to use

You don't get charged if you make the payment "cash" and send the customer a receipt right?
