  • I love the random guy about 50 seconds into the video that walks buy and just yells "'Scuse me!"

  • USC is an epic band.

  • @xxxDeath9572xxx It's no WIsconsin Badgers band.

  • This is a grat song, converted and practiced to perfection(or as close as they could get with a full marching band class). Imagine if you had practiced one song for weeks, in preperation for this one day and the people in the stands yell"YOU RUINED A GOOD SONG" or yelled "YOU SUCK" or said "THAT WAS LAME" imagine how devistated and discraced you would feel (I play trombone and marching band isn't as easy as it looks.)

  • stuuupiiid.

  • WONDERFUL omg

  • Only in America! .-)

  • whoever converted this to a band song totally got rid of the energy of the song

  • ....ew

  • awesome

  • COOOL! alter wie geil die haben einen applaus verdient obwohl die ein lied nachgespielt haben i wie hamma

  • wtf o_O!!!!!!! orrible

  • What the fuck ?

  • i guess this is a good arrangment but its still a rock marching song for band so ehh

  • Agreed. The band doesn't matter. Rock songs arranged for marching bands tend to be kinda lame.

  • Impressive.

  • What an Awesome performance.

    I agree with patsyberet.

  • whats with the capes?

  • that...was the shit!

  • USC ALL THE WAY!! 2010 BCS CHAMPS!

  • idiot.... it's not 2010 yet.

  • hes saying theyre going to be the 2010 bcs champs. not saying that they are. so maybe ur the idiot

  • gosh... that's awesome.

    Wolfmother should perform with them!

  • wat a great cover they should cover soem hendrix in trumpet

    BRING ON THE TRUMPETS!!!!

  • LIES AND SLANDER

  • Come on!!! That was awesome!!!

  • well the band posted this video in their Myspace, I think they like it

  • haha

  • nice very nice

  • hahaha hell yeah

  • very nice :D

  • who is the fuck up trombone who marched through the halt. way to go

  • when?

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, that was a great Queen show by the Penn State Band. A 1970's Halftime show for 1970's football.

  • ... and being true to the original, they died, from AIDS.

  • lol I was cracking up when Penn State played "We are the Champions"! A little ironic that they played it as they trailed 31-7? lol

  • 352459:

    A "little ironic"? LOL!!!

Seriously,it must have done something. Penn played better in the second half.

GREAT SONG.I wish the sound quality was a bit better, because it does not do The Spirit of Troy full justice here.

  • how dare we play our fight song over and over and over like we traditionally do..

man I dunno what we were thinking.

    haha

  • tuba09PLAYA:

Now, now. The Spirit of Troy plays when the team scores. It works.

You don't expect the football players to slack off during a bowl game do you?

Both teams played well, I thought.

As for the USC marching band, there are plenty of excellent videos on you tube if you crave variety. Do other university bands play Avenge 7x-with Deathbat formation-The Offspring, etc?

  • What a joke! The bloo bland was completely generic and forgettable. Trojans FTW!

  • Really now? The real joke was USC's horrible and poorly disciplined playing and marching. For goodness sake, I saw one flute player using some bizarre hop/high step-ish style, and the girl RIGHT NEXT TO HER was roll stepping. That AND the sound was just plain terrible.

  • Idiot! There are no flute players in the frame of this video. There is NO ONE "roll stepping." You simply do not understand this style. And as far as "sound" goes, if you don't like the tone quality, most band dorks are taught to hate it by their directors... this brassy and exciting tone quality is not for the weak. Style... not law, thank you very much.

    Yet again still, Trojans FTW!

  • Idiot? Maybe you? I was THERE and saw it with my own eyes, clear as day. I don't march with the PSU band, but, I have enough experience in marching and corps to know a good band when I see one.

So, I guess powerful sound and uniformity is sacrificed for... uh, "style". And speaking of discipline, "hats off" to the guy at 2:06.

  • @IMK110: Yeah, right. Show me your ticket stub or GTFO. I was ACTUALLY at the game but the comments should be about THIS VIDEO, not your imagined personal experiences.

One missed halt or not, the TMB was stronger and more entertaining. And I was hoping that psu would give the TMB a bit of a challenge, too. As is, even a ho-hum TMB performance IMHO, killed the blue bland. Another "big"10 let down.

  • USC doesn't try to be corps. They try to be entertaining. In college a band plays for the school and the team, if you can't get the fans excited then what is the point?

Penn State sounded good, but it felt like a high school band tournament. There was no spirit or enthusiasm. USC plays what people want to hear. It may not be its not the most technical but the fans like it and the team likes it.

  • L O L

  • i'm glad i didn't have to march to this piece. it looks hard.

    - ... sucks.

  • hahaha. I love the "excuse me!"

    We sound freaking awesome!
