dude you need to have one pokemon aside because if your pikachu faints you cant defeat him i have butterfree its a great pokemon for a start

I have to give it a thunder stone to make it evolve. So it can evolve at any level even Lv. 1

Well, not in this game. Pikachu won't evolve with the Thunder Stone, just like on the TV show.
