You can use a bow on any guitar, just means because of the flatness of the bridge you'll only be able to use the bottom and top E strings. Jimmy Page had his bridge raised from the middle sloping down on either side so he could play more strings. So in summary yes you can do it on a normal guitar but you'll just be limited without changing the set up.

His isn't modified, the strings are all flat (because of the bridge).

He's using the bow on every string at once.

But it's possible to modify it.

However, you can only bow on electric guitar, since acoustic guitar strings wont stick to the horsehair on the bow and will sound terrible.
