  • This is an awesome movie, and it doesn't just apply the sexual tension to the military, it's in every walk of life. Our gender shudnt have anything to do with our job, it shud be about our abilities and skills end of story.

  • Um... at the end he gives her his Navy cross... it's for risk of life in combat and going beyond the call of duty.

  • When Master Chief passes his medal of the Purple Heart (Surviving combat situation while wounded) to O'neil it is the most meaningful example of a soldier and hero acknowledging respect and honour to another soldier that saved his life.

    It made the film. 100%

  • everyone below me is retarded for arguing on a video..get a life..don't yall got something to do!?

  • they need to make a movie like this without all the BS female political correctness.. this would have been a great movie even without a female lead

  • @flybri74 not really, sweetie. the whole point of the movie is that she's a female. that's not political correctness, it's called a story.

if it was just a male lead, there's no tension. the whole point is that the military is very sexist, just like you. but you're just not smart enough to see that. then we wonder why males are the minority in colleges today.

  • @karlsmith00 well its kinda like the movie full metal jacket where in basics the story revolves around pvt. pile. in my opinion that was a great movie because of that but yer milage may vary

  • @EXPENDABLE50 that movie was a completely different story, set during the vietnam war before there were any women allowed in the military.

today there are female marines, and the military is about 15% women. the whole point of this story is that it's set in contemporary times and the lead character has a lot of conflicts since she's a woman.

do you understand how conflict is central to a story? if it was a man, he wouldn't have to deal with so much bullshit. you're really slow.

  • @karlsmith00 slow?.. i didnt know we were racing hehe. what you dont understand is had the lead role been a fat male there would be tension, had he been a black male at the right time in history there would still be tension.. this aint the first military flick to show an underdog overcomin' the odds. besides.. in BUD/s they usually pick on someone

  • @karlsmith00 well its my opinion sweetie.. if u dont like it then thats ur problem.. society isnt perfect and it never will be..

all i said is i like the format in which this movie was made and i think it could have been great even without a female lead

and as for the gender gap in college.. if it was a wide gap then i would agree with u.. but 7 percent is not a wide gap so im not impressed.. so u should look in the mirror b4 calling someone else a sexist

  • @flybri74 that's not a wide gap? when you consider males have not allowed females to get higher education for thousands of years, and in 30 years women went from barely 10% to nearly 57% of college graduates? not to mention students in law and medical schools.that's not impressive? idiot.

THE WHOLE POINT OF GI JANE IS THAT SHE'S A WOMAN, MORON. that's like saying black swan would have been good with a male lead. NO IT WOULDN'T.

thanks for showing me why men don't go to college yet again.

  • @karlsmith00 wow girl.. that was a fast reply.. do u have a life other than looking at youtube video's and male bashing? or maybe ur a woman in a mid life crisis and looking to lash out at all men who u think done wrong to u... i feel sorry for u sweety... pathetic!!!!!

  • @karlsmith00 lol.. ur stupider than i thought.. that girl in my profile is my gf.. and were both the same age retard.. u need to renew ur bifocals to magnifying glasses becuz ur just blind or is it ur just stupid.. either way i dont care...

  • Besides whether females are with combat or combat support, they are still taking fire over there just as males and rising to the tasks at hand the same way too. All Soldiers and Marines are modern day heroes. MAY GOD BLESS and KEEP YOU!

  • "Master Chief, SUCK MY DICK!! "

    "Hooah!"

  • This is perfect, all the scenes I need for one of my film classes!

  • I never understood why someone would want to go through more Spec Op trainning when they are already SEAL, Delta, Recon, etc Qualified...I went once and made it, I'm sure as hell not going back.

  • the best moments in movie 8:00 / 8:35 what's writing inthe book

I never saw a wild thing

    sorry for itself.

A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough

without ever having felt sorry for itself. never forget this words never all my life !

  • :P so ur plan...ur a te rr or i st o.o

  • Cmd Master Chief was right....

  • dad is the name of yur father... same as mine...!

  • Pretty sure Army Delta guys and Marine Force Recon guys wouldn't need/want to switch over to SEALs. They've got their own thing going and training just as tough as SEAL training.

  • @masteradnin Yeah, I'm not so sure that is an accurate statement in the movie either. I am not saying it isn't possible that different branches don't do exchanges where they enter into different training programs and then take that experience back to their prospective branches though. I guess that would be possible but for the most part probably Marines and Army do their own thing. However, Naval Intelligence that I could see doing that kind of training, maybe.

  • Ridley Scott "apologized" for making this garbage by making "Black Hawk Down". I hate this excuse of a film.

  • jesus christ this movie sucks

  • i dont wanna see women die in action

  • @winstonfam667 Really !! how many Young British Women have died in Afghanistan,,, for USA Bullshit Lies ? how many young Brit Combat Medics,,, or Combat Female Dog Handlers, or How many female Gun Controllers ?? Get real !!

  • @winstonfam667 i dont want to see any one die in action, what diffrence dose it make male or female?

  • @winstonfam667 And you think that women dont mind seeing men die? ...Really now?

  • @winstonfam667 Do you want to see a man die in action? The tragedy is real and horrible no matter what the positioning of the genital of the solider. GOD BLESS THEM ALL.

  • Navy SEALS can kick the Spetsnaz ass any day!!!

  • @TheElectron504 I'm pretty sure neither services wants to put see if that statement is true. Cus if it really comes to pass, its nuke'em duke'em.

  • Unrealistic

  • i'm a man and for years a wanted a character from a fil to have the same name as me however a didnt want the character played bt demi moore

  • ,I would not want a women on in my squad. Why have a 2nd rate person with less physical endurance and strength than a 1st rate ma???

  • @ForTheHorde1994 2nd rate person?

  • Women are the only one's we trust with our greatest of weaknesses. We cannot lose the one's we trust and love most.

  • LOL at the SEALS being beyond Delta. Absurd.

  • It goes,

    Selection

    BUD/s

    SQT

    SEAL Team Training

  • lol from 8:15 - 8:17 he does bluesteel

  • so ,what unit is this? Navy Seals?

  • Yes, women are not allowed in combat, thus special forces are completely off limits to them; this film plays the what if game about allowing a woman to try out for the SEALS, cute but never logistically going to be acceptable or possible.

  • @Speegs23 the first force recon women are now being trained :)

  • @Speegs23 file that under bullshit.

This is the marines' actual offical FAQ:

"Under current rules, all recon billets are considered ground combat positions & so are not open to women.

Women's role in the Armed Forces is a hot topic today, however there are no plans to open the 0321 MOS (Recon) to women. I have seen women filling support billets (supply, admin.) in reserve recon units, although I imagine that is by exception & not something to plan your career around"

  • @Speegs23 Officially you are correct, in the U.S Military anyway. However, in these two wars the brass are sort of getting around that 'rule'. Qualified females are being 'assigned' to combat support units(which they've been in for decades) and then 'attached' to combat or infantry units, it's a legal loophole. This has been in several newspaper and magazine articles and I personally know people in the Marines and Army where this is happening. They are doing so with equal success.

    abffchick17

  • @abffchick17 Being assigned to a combat unit; example an infantry unit, does NOT make you an infantryman. So it really doesn't matter if women are assigned to combat units or not, they do not serve as a member of combat arms, they're still in supporting roles. It does not make their job any less significant, it's not to degrade us females in the military, it's just how it is for the US Military.

  • @diehardsweetheart I know your not being negative towards females, which is nice that it is respectful. However that is what makes it a loophole, while within those units they are doing infantry jobs. They are just officially attached instead of assigned which is what makes it legal. This has only been since the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. There are those in Congress that want to change it after the wars that this can longer happen even though the military brass are fine with it.

  • @abffchick17 No they are not doing infantry jobs. Take it from a female crewman (non-american) who has deployed and worked with the US Military, females even if attached to a combat arms unit do NOT do those jobs. For example a combat medic who is assigned to a combat arms unit is still a medic, nothing more nothing less, they are NOT infantryman/artilleryman/crewman/sappers

  • @diehardsweetheart I respect you for your service to your country. Have you served in either A-Stan or Iraq because these are the only two examples where this is happening. The articles I read specify the opposite that they are doing combat jobs. Medics as you said yes are support staff to combat units, that's been that way for a long while, this is different. Plus I know Marines who have confirmed this as well as a Canadian friend who's in the Army over there. We will agree to disagree.

  • @abffchick17 Afghan. Combat Medic is only a tiny example, unless your MOC/MOS is a combat arms trade you are NOTa member of combat arms, no matter what unit you're assigned. I know several Sig Ops who were assigned to my combat unit, that doesn't change the fact that their job is signals and that they're Sig Ops, they're just assisting us. Combat is a very general and different term than combat arms. Women have seen combat ie medics/MPs, but they are NOT combat ARMS soldiers ie infantryman

  • women are allowed in combat but not special forces....there are lots of women in the infantry...

  • no there are not. they do not fight in combat, period.

  • @Youngmarine0109

Women are aloud in infantry but not in a Combat MOS.

  • @HXRGuitar in the US Military women are NOT 'allowed' in ANY combat arms MOS which most definetly includes Infantry, sorry you're wrong.

  • @diehardsweetheart

    Thanks ;)

  • OOOORAH , Seal's !!!!

  • True, bluberri25. 19CCR91, if she isn't allowed in the SEALS (which isn't allowed in today's military) then you can discredit everything else they do that has to do with the military and enjoy the movie.

  • you suck 19CCR91!

  • i did and thats y its gay, hollywood makes military the military less strict, and this is just bullshit

  • if you'd actually watch the movie you could realize WHY she was made an exception you dick

  • this movie is just a movie..in the reality..it is rare that woman do it

  • Nah man they are not aloud to do it, NSW rule

  • Dude.... they will NEVER represent the military with respect to accuracy and THANK GOD FOR THAT.

Who wants our enemies to watch a movie and know exactly how we condition our troops and how our special forces train? I know I don't.

Let them over dramatize and embellish and lie all they want! It will just keep our enemies guessing about what we really do.

  • @UltimoLatino enemies!! thats the respect u give for the rest of people in the world ..

  • @JasminePulse Oh Grow Up, every nation is ultimately out for itself. Stop being a blind idealist. The world should be kissing U.S. ass all day long, when you study history you realize that for all of our faults the U.S. really is rather exceptional.

  • @UltimoLatino Oh stop being ignorant .. yea, now u think every nation stands for itself.. and talk about YOURSELF if u want to kiss US ass!!

Btw, for the person who uploaded this videa, thank u .. i like it.

  • @JasminePulse Every nation does stand for itself duh!... you really need to read more.... especially with respect to social and political philosophy.

you really must not know anything about world history and more specifically the particulars of conflicts which the US was not a part of as compared to conflicts the US was a part of.

  • @UltimoLatino Huh yea i leave it up o you mr. i know everything! whatever!! i won't comment anymore coz u lack respect in the talk!!

  • @UltimoLatino This is actually really accurate, no lie.

  • @UltimoLatino

    Well, its actually accurate. *shrug*

There is only so much training you can give.

  • @UltimoLatino Yea no kidding... if they wanna know they can just watch the military / history / discovery or learning channel
