  • The sound of a proper bus, I miss these old buses, they had character.

  • 273 was a Douglas bus! A Mk 2 heep of s***!

  • Such a long time since i heard one of these running - bliss! Can i ask, as preserved vehicles, do these ailsas cost a lot to maintain? I would love to own one myself but think it would be very costly?

  • I thought 273 was taken off the run years ago. I last saw it 11 yrs ago on afarm in blair. who's got it now?

  • Hi. Thanks for your comment.

273 is now in preservation - one of my friends in the Taybus Vintage Vehicle Society owns it. You're right - it was based at Kinpurnie Farm in Newtyle as a berry bus for many years. It is now fully restored in original Tayside Regional Council livery and looks absolutely fantastic. However, mechanically it is a rather tempramental bus to say the least but serves as a superb reminder to the buses which used to grace the streets of Dundee.

  • push once to stop.

    LOL!

  • Hey Richard, great videos keep the good work up. Good to see some Dundee Ailsa action!
