I'm also 13 and I can compare on some situations to you, I am shy and stay in my room or on my computer a lot but when I do go out with my friends, I act crazy, not because they all act crazy, it's just that I'm more comfortable with them, when I hang with friends at church I'm more collected and more mature but do have my moments. I agree that everyone is different and that you don't have to act the same way all the time, if you are in a formal occasion, act mature, and vice-versa.

Once when I was 13 I got invited to a Halloween dance party, didn't know anybody there very well, didn't like the music, didn't like the candy, and felt so uncomfortable I went over to the edge of the room and tried to take a nap on the folding chairs. :P It didn't work out so great, but it's funny to remember.
