  • I would LOVE to have this lady give me private lessons!

  • lol

  • nevermind. ha, feel silly. anyway search in "jehustay" for good music

  • did anyone get her name?

  • youtube commercials=mute button and scroll down

  • anyone else think this fucking sucks?

  • omg its not working ! :@

  • LOVE this!

  • The finger example of pushing the vowels through the throat just didn't seem right

  • Press 2 for Joint

  • OH GODAMNIT TEACH ME TO HOW TO SCREAM SO HIGH I BREAK EAR DRUMS AND SHATTER WINDOWS, sO LOW THAT I SHAKE FUCKING PLANETS

  • @AidMarMedGre lol You made my day!

  • You do have to open your mouth on Ahhh. The idea is to open a clear path for the sound to come out. If I had any complaints it would be that the segments are too short. Singing is not like ordering fast food.

  • she said EH... i thought she said F for a second and then realized it was EH... which makes sense... like the E sounds in "let"..

  • people could be ignorant like how these ppl commenting negative about this demonstration. I think she said A, she did not say F. Sometime you people need to just appreciate someone's effort rather making it miserable.

  • THIS WOMAN IS AN IDIOT!! Seriously, please no one interested in your singing voice listen to this woman. First of all, F isn't a vowel and you cannot possibly sing the letter "f" I believe she meant "ay" which you use to sing e's sometimes. Second of all, NO you never drop your jaw as low as possible when singing "ah" because it creates tension in your neck and jaw which is uncomfortable.

  • @JWeb4U Thanks man! This is exactly what I wanted to say. It's also almost dangerous how she sings the other vowels: raised larynx and much to bright. No way you can hit high notes with this method!

  • @JWeb4U @mredline1 She is not saying F is a vowel, it sounds like it but what she's really saying is "eh" which is technically not a vowel, but it is the short sound of the vowel E.

  • Hy sweetye...;)

  • hahahahahhah !

  • I would hit that so hard....

  • ROFL

Is this really a singing exercise video or a p..rn video?

  • wow ppl grow up and stop with the perverted comments.

  • what is vowel?

  • @dulCISSIMA1 It's been 3 months since you posted, so you may have looked at a dictionary by now... but the vowels in English are AEIOand U.

  • Very questionable. She says she is going to discuss consonant placement in the mouth and then she demonstrates vowels, badly.

  • @SolfegePractice she says vowel constant placing in the mouth...

  • @SolfegePractice I'm not sure how this was a bad demonstration of vowels. My perception of the term vowel consonant placement is that consonant enunciation is affected to some degree by which vowel you are pushing out at the time or are about to push out. Does that sound reasonable to you?

  • great video, great explanation

  • 35 seconds into the video... ;D

  • Now this IS an expert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:50

  • This is pants, you don't need you open your mouth much, or make a smiley face, just pushes your tongue back in your mouth.

  • 0:35

  • I still got problems hitting high notes with A vowel, omg this one is so hard

Barely can go up to A, but i'd like to reach B, like with my other vowels.

    I'm a male vocalist

    Somebody can help???

  • F isn't a vowel

  • @mredline1 i think she meant eh sound

  • @mredline1 She didn't say F

  • got it to play after getting out the channel and back in. Excellent instruction! Made it a fave.

  • I still have no vibrato even after 6 y ears of singing? soooooooo fook knows

  • @Liquadia

vibrato suck, don't worry, u dont need that

  • @Liquadia

Write good songs and learn to love your voice, that's all that matters

    :)

  • Placement in the mouth.

  • it is akin to learning the "muhammad ali boxing method" from SOMEONE THAT CAN'T BOX!

  • once again- i have never heard of seth riggs and/or his approach to vocals. in addition- i mentioned that i've never heard mr. riggs sing. i never criticized seth riggs.

i DID,however, criticize brett manning for having a (very) poor singing voice. whether or not brett uses "the seth riggs speaking level method" doesn't matter to me. his voice is poor and therefore MANNING'S "coaching" is worthless to me.

Arceneaux is a different story- he has a voice that legitimizes his OWN method.

  • If that is your preferred style (i.e.-Michael Jackson,Stevie Wonder, etc.), then I kindly suggest that you investigate Eric Arceneux's method for vocal technique. He has a handful of very helpful videos on You Tube that will help any singer. In addition- Eric's voice is way above average which helps reinforce his integrity as a vocal coach. Also- his warmups are akin to what professional vocal instructors employ.

  • the only thing i could find on "speech level singing" was some online (and/or dvd) singing course by a guy named seth riggs. i've never heard seth riggs sing or heard his approach to vocals. (i've heard brett manning sing and it was awful. in addition- his advice is worthless. no serious singer would take any of his advice.)

following some $29.99 dvd lesson IS IN NO WAY more beneficial than taking lessons from an experienced vocalist.

  • so you are saying that luciano pavarotti was singing the "wrong way" by singing above what would be considered speaking volume? such a statement would be deemed complete nonsense by ANY serious vocal instructor. ms. naumann is not doing anything "wrong" whatsoever here.

  • when he says "speech level singing" he is talking about a technique developed by seth riggs. Nothing to do with volume level.

  • bullshit- this woman has a good professionally trained voice...she is not some hack that helps pop stars sing in tune.

  • I VOTE FOR 0:36

  • your so sick minded. but it was funny

  • :D :D i had to watch that again whean i checked your coment still I just.... :D :D

  • i have to repair that ,,,its 0:37 ....straight through as far as possible :D :D :D ...sory it s just ...

  • gross...haha

  • @pioter91 I dunno man, 0:42 gives me pretty naughty thoughts.

  • @pioter91 and its furthest not furtherest

  • @pioter91 Nice

  • @pioter91 I just noticed that, haha! thats awesome, maybe she needs someone to sing straight through the walls of her Uterus! haha.. who here agrees?? I will honestly say that if you have a smoking hot voice teacher how can you get through the lesson without look at her amazing body!

  • sorry to say this but u r wrong

i also play music , ur voice should never shake , when u r singing , but urs is shaking.

  • A rule of thumb....think of placing your lips north to south, not east to west. Her Ee was terrible. Ee should have slightly puckered lips to focus the airflow forward instead of spreading it out widely. Wide vowels sound pressured and harsh. Focused rounder lips create a warmer sound with much more resonance.

  • I'd do 00:36 with her.

  • AHAhAHAHAAHAHA. That cracks me up. I didnt notice that till u said so. hahahha

  • ;-)

We usually learn from our past history! So go back to 00:36 and watch it once again like I did.

  • hahaha

  • that stuff is embarassing....I'm only going to try it when I'm alone

  • 0.36 wtf!!!

  • yall is a bunch of judgmental haters,

    its helped me

    :D

  • i wish i was a good singer.

  • lol

  • The AH vowel she demonstrates sounds muffled. Let the tongue naturally go where it wants to produce the vowel.

  • sounds as if its for opera singers x)

  • I'm not a singer, so I don't know, but do any of the critics here have instuctional videos here......anywhere? Thanks critics.

  • this is not correct. ahh does not sit at the back of the mouth!!!!!

  • I agree ! In fact, most of it is not correct. "Drop your jaw down as far as possible", "sing through a dot", "smile to make the sound brighter"......tsssss. And they call that "Expert village"....

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    that was funny.

  • u r so beautiful....I'd want to marry u

  • What About "i"

  • it's a dipthong: 'ah-ee'

  • This was too much....my comments would be Xrated here!!!!!

    Loved every minute!

  • she could +blow+ audiences...

  • look in a mirror and do this.. very funny..::P

  • Oh my god

  • that finger and hand motion is just classy.. lol, good lesson though

  • good work

  • its vocal exercises genius

  • hahahah!!!...lol she is nasty!*(",)*!

  • lolololololl

she talks about a hole with lots and lots of experience....

  • all singing is about focusing the voice, you shouldnt try and 'push through' the note to focus it, as she says. and you should always live on the vowel and skip off the consonant. there are people who can stay on consonant sounds and still keep a great tone, but it sounds akward

  • have you listened to your vibrato? its a redflag to your poor vocal technique and i would bet that you have tight abs. that is a false pushed vibrato and does spin at all, it like a lopsided beach ball. sorry to be harsh but it seems like all the expert villiage ppl know nothing about the voice whatsoever nor how to teach it...very disheartenning. you need to listen to your own voice on a recording and critique it against good technique so you know where to focus your personal training.

  • please make a video of the correct way :)

  • 0:44 hahhahaha

  • yeah i love that hole idea

  • This is called "focusing forward". What's hilarious about singing is that people who have never had a proper classical-training coach have no idea that singing is mostly VISUALIZING! You visualize the note narrow and far away from you so you create the sound using the palates of the face and not the throat.

  • excellent tips

it will really help to improve

  • wow, what a beautiful voice! great tip!

  • Some of you lower class individuals need to go to another site-this is about voice training. Grow up and stop with the immature lewd comments-noone cares about your problems going through late puberty.

  • through that hole aye, love her dirty talks

  • ahahahahahhaahha

  • ooooooyea. 0:35

  • She is sooo pretty and sexy. It's a pleasure watching you. Will you marry me? I can sing too.

  • Placement of what in the mouth?

  • That's Gross

  • and very inappropriate

  • Ur beautifull......

  • whats with the dot

  • I TRY SOOOO HARD TO SING FROM MY DIAPHRAGM BUT ITS JUST NOT WORKING! I sing very good but after a while my head starts to hurt. I am having soo much trouble singing high notes and im getting frustrated! im 14 and i cant really afford singing lessons right now so what am i supposed to do?

  • Hi Jenny, I sang with my school choir for 6 years and found that at the age of about 16 (i.e. between the age 14-16) my voice changed. I started off singing 2nd sprano and ended up singing 1st soprano by the time i was 16. It's possible right now your voice is still trying to find its final sound. The main excersise for you I think should be breathing, once you are able to hold notes and control your breathing singing from your diaphragm becomes easier, it all comes with time :-)

  • yes but When is my voice gana become better? i cant wait any longer....... i wana sing but it hurts my throat after a bit! i just dont know how to be sure that im breathing the right way.

  • make sure your shoulders are down and your not tensing any part of your body. If you can get ahold of a piano, or keyboard (like in your school) try doing scales, just going up and down one key at a time and trying to match it. Only work with what you can reach comfortably, and over a few weeks and months your range will improve until you can sing higher with the same ease.

  • If you are 14 why don't you ask your music teacher to help you a little after school? For about a 1/2 hour a day.

As for you trying to hit high notes- If you have to stretch to get to them don't try. Work on the more comfortable notes.

  • when she put her finger through the hole, I lost track. being 18 is so hard

  • LMFAO

    XD

  • Haha "through that hole forward"

  • I concur!

  • Great lesson. I'm using this as a compliment to weekly lessons, and it has made a huge difference. Helps me to think about where each vowel sits in my musculature. Thank you, please keep posting.

  • you have beutiful body!

  • hahahahah..besides a beautiful voice...

  • Certainly, it's important to keep vowels bright, but pushing them forward yields an unnatural sound (I'm sorry, but the 'ah' demonstration was quite an example of that) as well as unhealthy tongue tension.
