HTC from Taiwan makes pretty slick phones, and China manufactures those iPhone 4s. The Sonata is built in Hyundai's U.S. plant in Alabama same with the Sante Fe's and I believe the Genesis Sedan and Coupe. I dont think Hyundai has any plants in Japan.

Japan has had lots of experience in making cars, the Honda's used to have pretty bad crashes. But after years of improvement after previous mistakes, they are making safer cars than Europe and America. This is a reason why I drive an 2009 Accord. For the Chinese, their cars are very cheap in quality and price, and is relatively new to the Auto industry. Therefore the cars are horrible, and even Chinese people don't want to buy them. The Gov. is also to blame for not pushing safety standards.
