  • Spectacular! I actually spontaneously did a fist pump when you hit the run around the 2min mark - excellent job. As a guitarist myself, I know this is crazy hard to play!

  • Yuri is good. But so are you. Keep it up.

  • Really nice job on a ferociously hard piece. I asked Manuel about it once and he told me it was a fingerbreaker. If HE thinks it's hard...you're the man for even trying it. I've had the sheet for a couple years and never got very far with it. Great job. in another year, you'll be nailing it.

  • @johngalt1961

Right, this one took me a few weeks to get it partially good.Should have practised for a few weeks/months more to get it almost completely right, surely. Check out user yuritheguitarist who does a swell job on this one, a lot more trained and competent of a classical guitarist than me :P

  • Impecable.

  • bravo bravo bravo

  • wow you are fantastic!

  • huh wow - impressive!

  • Bravissimo!!!

  • Impresionant. Moltes felicitats noi. Ets un crack.

  • Bravo!!

    superbe travail.

    beau jeu!

  • Increible, admirable, vaya currazo,. Ahora mismo no me salen mas palabras.

    Ya Vendran.

    wow.

    :-O

  • How can anyone rate less than 5 stars?

  • thanks for sharing this amazing work.

  • Thanks to you for appreciating my effort.

  • I have been listening to the Koln Concert album for years. I wouldn't have even imagined hearing this on guitar(and to pitch as well). You are to be congratulated for all of the hard work you have put in. This really sounds great !

  • Kompliment!

  • dude, this is ridiculous! VERY NICE WORK!!!

  • Great ! impressive ! congratulations for this performance

  • nice arrangement! SSSSSSSSSooooooooooo difficult!!!!!!

  • Still Great! Whow!

  • wow sometimes it amazes me what the guitar can do with only 6 strings, i never imagined this song could bve arranged to the guitar.

  • The difficulty on this piece is insane on guitar. This is the best try I've seen. The runs from 2:13 - 2:30 are excellent. I wish I could do that :)

  • This is the best youtube video I've ever seen....and I've seen other transcriptions of this work.....something moved me about this one

  • Grande Tecnica. Complimenti

  • I play guitar, I listened to this album over and over for many years. I don't even think this song could be played with guitar. Great job, thanks

  • The impressing thing is that it's impossible to play all of Keith's notes and it's still the same feeling, there's not missing something...

  • you're crazy

  • If that's a compliment well, thanks ;)

  • Oh my god.

This is awesome ! Very nice cover of this wonderfull song.

  • nice work

  • i just found out that the name of this piece is "memories of tomorrow".

  • WOW !!!

  • great! (@_@;)

  • arrrr meeaaahn... das dirty <3

  • One word: "WOW"

  • damn...

    This is absolutely awesome.

I play guitar and this "song" (what an abusive word for this work) is one of the best audible feelings i ever heard...

Of course it's still much better on the piano, but this indeed is a great work.

    Good Job!

...being envious about not being able to play that myself ;)

  • wow!!!

from 10 possible points you get 12 - at least.

i'm playing piano and giutar, but i never saw someone playing one of my favourite pieces this way. i'm deeply impressed.

  • Wow! This looks really hard to play!!

    Good job!

  • Beautifully played!!

I transcribed this and other works from Manuel's Sometime Ago album. I then interviewed Manuel and he gave me an autographed copy of this piece.

I have arranged another Chick Corea piece that you might find interested. Type in Chick Corea Guitar and the link should come up.

  • Great man, more of those uncommon and challenging piano transcriptions for guitar! Thanks for stopping by and watching.

  • Fantastic.

  • Really astounding ! I never thought it might be possible to transcribe such piece on guitar... You brought the proof that it is otherwise !

Really good job, not perfect, but still awesome.

How long did it take you to guess out that transcription ?

5 Stars well deserved anyway. Keep it on !

  • Not mine, read the description for details.

  • Have you tried to ply this piece on a 12 string guitar? It sounds wonderful.

  • I was one of the first to pounce on this score when schott published it, but sad to say the 1st page was as far as I got before I started imploding. Mighty effort there!!!

  • La cançó és memories of tomorrow, oi?

  • Així li diuen també, sí.

  • very good man I love this piece and have beel listening to it nearly all my life, BTW you play it better than the other guy on youtube... I really envy you, I know that I could make this if I had the exact positioning and a coupla years to spare full time for it...

  • that`s really amazing - wow!!!!!

  • i have listened to that for 20 years and not tired of it yet ... excellent rendition, thank you.

  • not bad at all, especially for a rehearsal. keep it up man

  • yea men! so good!

  • This is great! You are an excellent player. And that transcription! I knew Barrueco had done it and recorded it but I have not heard his recording. The next question is: How can I buy the music?

  • Music recording is on Barrueco's "Sometime Ago", for the transcript go here:

    schott-music dot com/shop/1/show,131237.html

  • what a pleasure!Thank you!

  • YOU NAILED IT! barrueco's a genius for transcribing it and so r u for being able to play it. good luck with the next vid

  • Excelente...

  • wonderful, thank you.

  • It toke me ages to learn it for the piano, let alone the guitar. Well done.

  • good job!

  • Have you tried classical guitars from the La Patrie line made by Godin up in Canada? Probably some of the best classicals I have played. However im an adminted Guild addict.

  • beautiful

  • Congratulations, you are a great musician!

  • very nice

  • Congratulations from Agrentina!

    Genial!

  • what a fresh version, i know how hard it´s the trascrition thank´s for a great moment

  • its is difficult because there is so much "soul" in it, som much spirituality in the not-james-redfield sense but in a filosofic sense. You play it quiet ok theoritically , but there is not much soul in it:))) even if you make theoretical mistakes or variations, that would not be a problem. try to put yourself in it!

  • This is not a transcription of mine whatsoever, all the glory is for Manuel Barrueco for bringing us such an astonishing adaptation for guitar.

  • very good! jarrett's a legend! well transcribed!

  • I've been playing guitar since fifteen but not uninterruptedly. There were some years that I barely play it. The guitar where I´m playing this piece is a "Picado" study guitar, not so remarkable as I'd wish but a decent guitar anyway.

  • Great job!!!

How long do you play the guitar? And what is the guitar you were playing that piece of juwelry on?

    Musical greetz,

    Nicolas

  • this is great!.. i loved it...

i love keith jarrett & you play this piece with much sens of music.

    keep going!

  • Great!! :)

  • WOW!

    You are quite brave!

    Bravo my man!

  • thank you so much for doing this. I purchased the transcription for this years ago but have never been able to get a copy of "Sometime Ago" to hear it. I could tell from the transcription that is was difficult but watching youplay has inspired to me to give it a try. Thanks again.

  • wow. as a pianist, i just bought keith's koln concert. and man that shit aint easy. i applaude you man, allot of work wen't into that performance i'm sure. how long did u take to learn it / out of curiousity how much u practice ? i'm workin on one of his solos from here on youtube. search "autumn leaves". CRAZY track.

  • Score´s five pages long. I had four pages memorized when I recorded the video but for the last one I had to read it completely while playing (that´s when I turn page at min. 3:30). It took me two weeks of practicing and memorizing those four pages which is only half of the piece. I'd say the average of hours per day were like two or so. In spite of the difficulties is very gratifying in the end so I encourage you to keep practicing and don't forget to make a video ;) Good luck pal.

  • Well done.

Where did you get the transcription? Did you do transcribed it yourself?

  • I bought the score at a well-known guitar store here in Barcelona. It´s a Manuel Barrueco transcription, you can find the recording of the piece in his album "Sometime Ago".

  • nobody ever did this befote manuel, it's doubtful anyone will do it again, but i commend you highly for the mighy effort...cheers mate

  • what a performance!good job.

  • Nice job sir...

  • I know I know, it´s getting smoother and more articulate as I keep practicing though. One of the many harsh elements is the amount of tricky glissandos (or hammer-ons) between fast chord shifts but I absolutely love the piece so... I think I´ll finally get hold of it.

  • well, well, play it some more time.

  • oh my god...

  • Top job. It looks every bit as difficult to play as you said it was. Keep up the practice though...1 and 2 and ... :-) Thanks for posting, Jim
