Excellent animation. Well done. What are the black orbs that can be seen to pass between us and the fractal object? Did you place them there on purpose or are they a result of the set?
It is the TetraBrot Explorer Java applet, which you can play with on the 3dfractals website. It is available to download by request only, you can email Dominic via the contact page. Making animations requires a separate animation prog, as TetraBrot merely creates .bmp files.
the complexity is amazing. i always found the structure of fractals to be related to the structure of thought, the structure of religion, family structure even between the rock star, and his fans. thanks for postin!
Deja vu...

I see fractals when I sneeze.

How does a 3D Mandelbrot set work? How can you map the complex numbers onto 3-dimensional space?

Intruiging.

Interesting. It appears the camera is zooming, but at times it also appears the 'mass' is inflating.

Looks just like 2 mandelbrots. One used as a profile, the other used as an extrusion.

So if the staring blob is about the size of a basketball, what's the thinness of the final wiry strands?
catchersmitt0 4 years ago
The resolution is increasing. It's thick because it's an approximation. It's analagous to a fuzzy picture
