I LOVE this song, the harmonies just fit like a glove with the music being as subtle as their voices when need be. Glad I grew up in the 70's and listened to REAL music with REAL singing talent. These young people nowadays are deprived about what real music is.
Make sure you check us out rehearsing 'like and open door' watch?v=3DZYpR2RqqE by the fuzz. One of our all time favorite groups. all praise is due to sheila young the writer and lead singer.
I learned to slow-drag to this song at the teen club in glenarden maryland... wow, this song just takes me back like nothing else can, I want to pay you back" by the chi-lites, wow... Im old..(lol) but those times were beautiful
8th grade! Those were the days. Remember when you could sleep in the backyard? 50 cents movie matinees--sneaking in the drive through with those little transmitters by the window...while you were distracting the usher and getting your friends out of the trunk :) Those are the kinds of memories I get when I hear this song.
What a sweet comment cthe7thman! Those days were amazing, but hey you get to experience those days through great websites like this and we'll keep telling you our stories like our parents told us about the 40's and 50's. Hey, search for Cowboys to Girls by the Impressions, you'll love it! That reminds me of summer time riding in my dad's 57 Chevy (no AC)visiting relatives down south, drinking water out of the well with a dipper and eating tomatos from the garden with the dirt still on 'em!
I'm sorry I always got them mixed up. I meant the Intruders. Soon as you said Fred Cash I remembered Curtis Mayfield. Wow, good to know Fred is still doing well. The Intruders also sang I'll always love my mama." So many talented groups back then, Spinners, Temps, Dells, Miracles, you can go on and on. I just brought a double Intruders CD and it has everything on it! I'm gonna ask my son how to upload it and post it.
hey mark, you got the whole LP? The other trax are slammin too. The whole concept is deep. Double dip if you can my bro. Post the whole LP and hear the love.......Do ur do, bro.
Wow I love this song SO much!!! these are kind of songs that LAST FOREVER, hence the teens who STILL listen to them...I'm 33 and I still can't get enough...
The Fuzz. Three teens from Washington DC. This record actually spent 21 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, without reaching the top 20 (peaked at #21). This was likely due to the inability of their small label to promote the record. This is a great record, and would likely have been a top 10 hit if they were on a better label.
i was 12 in 1972 when i first heard this on dzbm, years later when i became a djay young listeners would request me to play this time honoured music. i still have the album version of this famed group. thanks for posting it, keep up the craftmanship.
it's good to know that you kids can get into this music. The entire album had one concept; that love goes thru seasons. Spring,Summer,Autumn and Winter. Each song is about a phase of love thru the year...find the DC if you can....
I haven't heard this since a friend was buried with it in 1970, San Gabriel, CA. The first 4 measures of guitar would be great sampled! Thank you posting it.
if it wasn't for the older people who put this old music on this site for your silly young butt you wouldn't have it now would you? the way the music is today you should be happy that this music is everlasting..
hey dumbass i was tlaking about the person below me. not the music...y would i search for this music if i didn't like it. please read stuff before you start going on senseless rants
I know who you were talking about that's why I made the comment. can't express yourself without getting ignorant huh" goes to show who is really the "dumbass"
You didn't live in LA--that's this was featured on KRLA and Art Laboe's request programs..later Art went on an Internet Radio Station and it was played there. One of the great DJ's and still going strong.
