@Seyms67 That wasn't against the rules back then if I remember correctly, he gained nothing by going out there anyway, it was wet and more slippery than the track and you can see Massa gets a better run upto Eau Rouge, Kimi had already passed Kovalainen off the start. In 2009 Kimi made a lot more places by going out there in the dry and using his KERS which was why it became an illegal move, here Kimi passed Massa by just using his big balls and not lifting as much in the greasy conditions.

That's how you should overtake in Spa. Lift before Eau Rouge not in it. Button could have overtake Hamilton last week in there if he had done the same. Instead he tried do stay in Hamilton's draft going full throthle to Eau Rouge and then he had to lift there because he looses too much front grip and Hamilton got away.
I wish Raikkonen stayed and Massa left, although I'd say if he was racing alongside Alonso this season he'd (alonso) start crying like he did in 2007 when he was with McLaren and Lewis. Hope he returns to F1, great driver

but if you take a look at the entire season, no one spinned in any race, except schumacher in abu dhabi, so drivers know not to go for full throttle when exiting apex/curves, you can see that on webber's pole in monaco this year, engine RPMs are displayed, along with speed, and Throttle/brake diagram=)

@pabloantekera89 no Alonso didn't win this was 08 not 07. Massa ended up winning after Lewis was penalised and stripped of the win for cutting the track and Kimi crashed with 2 laps to go.

@ba20055 you have to brake early when youre right behind someone or you will run right into the back of them and massa didnt have enough momentum to try a move up the inside, if he had tried he would have either hit kimi or fucked up his line and lost a lot of time... and dont forget kimi crashed out of the race due to the rain, massa did not.
kimi made more mistakes in rain then massa did that year... so yeah

@procircut u know it is funny that i saw the race and when kimi vrashed in that race i felt sorry because with only one mistake u get out of the race and with all the mistakes massa did he finished it just like when a 4 years old kid die for a 1 bullet shot and a 75 years old man survive 10 of them

kimi raikkonen simply cheats. spa 2008, spa 2009, silverstone 2009. each time he deliberately used the outside of t1 at the start to get a better drive up the hill. that is the only reason he won in spa 2009 because at the start he gained 4 places by running round the outside and cheating

That's how you should overtake in Spa. Lift before Eau Rouge not in it. Button could have overtake Hamilton last week in there if he had done the same. Instead he tried do stay in Hamilton's draft going full throthle to Eau Rouge and then he had to lift there because he looses too much front grip and Hamilton got away.

I wish Raikkonen stayed and Massa left, although I'd say if he was racing alongside Alonso this season he'd (alonso) start crying like he did in 2007 when he was with McLaren and Lewis. Hope he returns to F1, great driver

I just love the 0:20 - 0:26 part. It shows how talented and determined driver Kimi was, as he doesn't release the gas even though he is constantly losing the grip. And look at that self-confidence in Eau Rouge.. I bet Massa didn't even touch the gas pedal in that corner.

Well, you've gotta have balls to drive if you're cursed with bad luck like Kimi. That's what eventually brought him the championship in 07 after 05 when the car kept failing just about every other weekend and 03 when, for the first time in history, his team FAILED TO GET THAT YEAR'S CAR ON TRACK EVEN FOR A SINGLE RACE. I never forget that. MP4-18, a car that was supposed to turn tables for McLaren's advantage in 03... eventually he lost the title for 2 points X(
