The money is the only draw. The real waste is the college programs for Lifers who will never get out. The money spent on medical transportation and air evacs for inmates who pretend to have chests pains so they can go on a field trip. Just one air transport costs about the same as a years salary for C/Os

While sitting in that hell-hole and being treated like an animal I decided I needed to change something about myself, and so I did. Unfortunately for all of us, most don't follow that route.

Fedral judges have been threatening the California prison systems long before Arnold became governor, hell, the FBI has even investigated several prisons for misconduct on inmates perpetuated by guards. i see cdcr uses pr-24's. in jersey we only get straight batons. Their equipment/training seems superior to ours.

CDCR doesn't use the PR24 anymore. A few years ago CDCR converted to collapsible straight batons. The collapsible batons are poor replacements for the old PR24s which could really put the hurt on a misbehaving crook. The expandable unit is too short, not enough mass, useless for jabbing and blocking, and no side handle so they are harder to retain. Also they are hard on all your joints from fingers to shoulder, watch the injuries. Oh well. Roll with the changes, adapt and overcome.
