  • looking good[:

  • I am in the beginning phase of transitioning. I need some tips. Please help me

  • @007newnew My hair looks like T's hair when she first started transitioning is there a chance we may have the same hair type? Thanks for reading(:

  • What products did you guys use ? And how often did you put heat on your hair ?

  • Well I Decided to Transition Back In November But I Couldn't Help It So I Got a Perm February 9th, But I Decided I'm Really Going to Do It So February Is the LAST Time I Will Ever Put a Perm In My Hair !

  • congrats love im going through the same thing transition its almost one year I stop perming my hair in april2011 my hair is so much healthier and fuller I love love love it...what products do you or she uses on her hair?

  • @lene2sweet1 Congratulations on your healthy hair journey! Isn't it much healthier!!! I've never seen my hair so happy LOL. We just did a video on her regimen, check it out!

  • What was her hair regimen??

  • @silverenia7 just did a video on her regimen. check it out!

  • i want to go natural but i'm scared that it would take a LONG time for me to reach my desired length :(

  • Thanks for this video. You are both gorgeous. Good job Mom!!

  • @Sky0350 Thanks Beautiful ;o)

  • Hey Mom I really like those earrings!

  • Excellent she will love you later for it lol beautiful ladies

  • Good Job

  • you two are a beauuuutiful pair and both your hairs are to be envied

  • I'm 14 and 9 months Transitioning and it's so hard my mom just blow dries and flat iron my hair (Too Much Heat) I want my hair to b healthy though I want to stop using heat on my hair

  • @90tlcaaliyah 9 months into your transition! You're doing great! Have you tried braids with rollers at the ends? With that texture, you could do sloppy buns, or regular buns, pull back the front with headbands. That's no heat styling.

  • Its funny how her hair resemble mine in so many way...

  • 007newnew thank you!!!! Im gonna see them now

  • My daughter and I loved ur video! I almost cried...maybe the music had something to do with it, but we've been searching for video of a trasitioning teen and this is so great to see your journy. My daughter(10) had a bad experience with a texturizer and I decided to give it all up and go natural (5mts in). Her seeing this video of ur daughter has given her a lot of enlightenment and hope. LUV IT! What is her regimen?

  • @wifeytoSweetD Awww, thanks Love ;o) I'm glad this video helped with the encouragement, because we truly needed and got encouragement to transition. It's hard going into the "unknown" LOL. All I know for sure is that your daughter won't regret going back to her natural hair. I'm having her detail her regimen on paper now, so It'll be posted on our blog first, and later detailed in video. Thanks for your sweet message ;o) (The music is inspiring ;O) I Love it!

  • Her hair is gorgeous! I just bc'd a month ago and am growing it out. I hope to have as much progress, very inspirational =)

  • @brownskinbeauty4 Thanks for the message Love! Congratulations on your BC!! You'll be having fun at every length ;o) For sure the progress rides along.

  • Where DID u get this instrumental...thisis FIRE

  • @thepassionka Thanks Love ;o) Beautiful Dream by Astor (pond5.com)

  • nice vid. im transitioning and its going great so far! A great way to deal with the new growth without flat ironing is buying a detangler like silken child and combing your hair straight with warm blow dryer heat. it helps the tangles and matting.

  • @anmllvr234 Congratulations on your transition! Thanks for sharing your tips/tricks. Have fun with your transition Love ;o)

  • im 15 and transitioning whats her regimen and products , im one month

  • @007kellogs me too!! My mom did the big chop n i decided to go natural but without the big chop. 1 month anniversary!

  • @Miriamifegwu Congratulations to you both!!!! Yeah, it's not necessary to do the big chop if you don't want to. Just learn how to manage both textures, pick 1 or 2 of your fave "go to" styles, and doing it for about 2 years, and you won't ever have to lose an inch! She actually grew her hair longer while transitioning. Have fun!!

  • @007kellogs We will be posting her regimen on our blog soon. Lots of tips, tricks, styling info on there already at Angelsringlets.blogspot.com . Check us out, join us, and let us know what you thing! Thanks Love ;o)

  • Please tell me how u transitioned im 11yrs old and i want my natural hair back what did u braid it??? JUST WHAT DID YOU DO???

  • @niaraashanti Hey love! Gonna be hard to detail that in a reply, please check out the link in the info box above. We've posted some things we did to help us actually Grow longer hair during our transition to natural.

  • I have found my hair twin!!!! at last !

  • Her hair is gorgeous! My niece has very beautiful naturally curly hair and I wish my sister would do this with her! She is about to turn 13 and her hair could be much longer if it were not constantly subjected to relaxers and heat.

  • What song is this?! I love it.

  • are u guys mixed or is it a product u use to define ur curls becuase when i was transitioning i curls werent that defined

  • Hi I was watching your channel and how T went natural. I decided to go natural and im 6 months post relaxed. My hair is so thick and curly. I was wondering is flat ironing transitioning hair good or bad? Did T do dominican blowouts?

  • @090bambam Hey! She flat ironed about 2 times a month during her transition. Heat is always dangerous, but if used safely (not necessarily professionally LOL), then you should be okay. Congratulations on the 6 months post! Nah, we didn't do more than 1 Dominican Blowout before we realized it may not be the safest bet. She learned the best products and heat settings for her hair.

  • Beautiful! I'm transitioning now.

  • @HayHay4 Yaay! Congratulations! Thanks for the message ;o)

  • ... i think the inch of relaxed hair at the ends protects the natural hair

  • @ronqie Maybe. I'm sure it doesn't hurt anything;O) Thanks for the message.

  • Love the video! So nice to see the mother help her get through this process!

  • @afullard1 We're just like that (work things together LOL). But since her hair got so brittle and kept breaking (before we started transitioning), I had to step in. She didn't know what was going on LOL>

  • I loved this video!! I'm 14 years old and my hair has been damaged for a while but its pretty long. I want to do the big chop but my mom doesn't want me to go natural. My dad is all for it but we're trying to convince her that this is my hair and she might still see me as the little girl whose hair she used to do but I'm really not anymore. And another reason thats holding me back is that my natural hair is sooo kinky and think and if u grow it out i will have an afro and i dunno about that lol

  • @tgtylergirl97 Hey hunny! You don't have to do the big chop. Trust me, my daughter was not doing any "big chop" LOL She had to deal with a lot of my decisions (No more relaxer), but no way was she chopping off the little hair she already had LOL. That's a sticky situation b/c you gotta go with what your parents are saying. You remember what your natural hair looks like? Remember, you can't go by what you feel when you need a relaxer. It grows in softer later. KIT --tia

  • OMG!! Thank you so much for sharing this video!! I've been fighting with my 16 yr about going natural for 17 mos. and this is the most encouraging video we've ever watched. Even though her hair hasn't been this healthy since she was 4 years old she still wants a relaxer because none of her friends are natural. This video has helped us so much!!

  • @bjbrownbob Thanks for the love! We really appreciate it. Your daughter's friends will soon be asking her all about her hair once she's fully natural. The transition is a little difficult to adjust to (re: styling), but you 2 can work together to learn her hair and what styles will work best. There's so many great transitioning "stylists" on Youtube!! These young girls are really figuring out how to work the two textures!! Please Keep in Touch. --tia

  • What moisturizers are you ladies using? My ponytails always look wild and dry

  • @daniguhh LOL at wild and dry. An excellent moisturizer solution is the kimmaytube leave in mixture (search it on here if you don't already know about it). It actually infuses moisture and leaves it there for days. BUT I must say that I don't really have a moisturizer. I guess I can call the aloe vera gel & castor oil mix my moisturizer (2 ounces aloe vera gel, and 1 tablespoon castor oil) mixed in a spray bottle. Also, I only use natural ingredient products. HTH

  • But wait what exactly did you do on the 1st year

  • @MsCristalRose She flat ironed her hair (2x month only) for the first year. IDK if that was the best bet, but her hair is still healthy. I took the opposite route and worked my hairstyle towards the natural side.

  • Thank you sooo much !

  • Omggg i just got soo much encouragement from this video, best transition video w/ a mother and a daughter ( who could possibly be my age ) ; im 15 & im 4/5 months into transitioning & every week its a struggle ..mom constantly discourages but i feel confident !

  • @MsCristalRose We appreciate you. Thanks for the love ;o) You're at the hardest parts of the transition (4 months through 8 months). At that point it doesn't really look like you're transitioning--people will tell you "you need a perm". Everybody goes through that. Try putting some braided extensions if you are at a loss for what to do with your transitioning hair. Minimize heat. Keep up with your deep conditions. Trim (.25'') if your hair constantly tangles at the relaxed ends. KIT sweets ;o)

  • @MsCristalRose Also...lay down those roots/edges with a satin scarf at night after moisturizing. That will let you get good ponytail styling. It took me a minute to figure that trick out LOL

  • I was just about 2 give up.! Till i saw your video.! Im having a struggle. Dont have a clue wat to do with my hair.! Trying to stay away from HEAT.! so it wont damage my natural curl

  • You did it together! That's wonderful! My daughter is natural and I am a transtioner! Announced it to the world this week but I knew it was coming since January. My hair was not doing well even with all the care I was giving it so I will see if naturally will be better for me. Congrats!

  • @AnnyKeyz Yes! We did it together. She was vex at first, but we later started to be on the same page. Now we BOTH love it!!! It's the best thing I could have done for our hair b/c our hair was breaking w/ the relaxer. We probably just needed to learn the best way to treat our hair with the relaxer, but I chose the natural route. Your daughter will be able to help you some (even if she's a baby LOL). I learned from my then 4 year old! Enjoy ur transition Doll! KIT

  • i love this video im in the same rout ur daughter is in and im 13 years old u have inspired me and my mom to go natural and create videos please subscride and watch tnx

  • @cutie5308dp Congratulations Bunny! Thank you for the message ;o) It means a lot to us. You guys are gonna have fun learning and doing together. Subscribed ;o)

  • i must say in the latter pics you can see the change in her hair, lovely & thick! I would've been 12months post but gave up at 5 months so i'm starting again thanks for posting vid :)

  • @SisterVaay Thanks Love! You can do it ;o) Check out Sylver2 if you haven't already (her videos were inspirational to me...even though she was stretching and I was transitioning).

  • You 2 are soo beautiful! You look like sisters. Thank you for the inspiration! Where can I find this music? This smooth. I love it! I got to get it!

  • @tkokolt Aww, thanks love! Check out this track at Pond5.com. You can purchase tracks there. The title and artist info is somewhere in the credits. Yeah, I love guitars and pianos together. It flows sweet.

  • Nice video, I was happy to see someone else also begin their journey in 2009 like I have....What are your techniques for flatironing properly?... because I have been thinking about flatironing mine more often and would like to take precaution while doing so because i have experienced extreme heat damage before

  • @07laille09 Hey Love! I don't know how to flat iron at all. I've done it myself only 1 time since all natural, and that was a fail. The other 2 times I went to the hairdresser and those times were fails also b/c it reverted back as soon as I hit the parking lot. Now my daughter has gottten her technique down really good. Better than the hairdressers. I asked her to let me film a tutorial the next time she does this. Her curl is looser than mine, which probably makes it a little easier.

  • @007newnew Okay Yea i definitely had my share of bad experiences with heat but Yea i would love to see a video of that becuase for some reason I cant get it the way I would like and i know its possible lol

  • @007newnew Okay thanks, and thanks for the video too. Maybe its because I cant get my hair as straight when I blowdry it(maybe thats the problem) and i try not to turn the flatiron up too high out of fear of heat damage plus my hair is reallllly tightly coiled I guess ill try again doing different things

  • hey, great video. She has really beautiful hair. and you both have done so far such a good work. I'm transitioning too, 12 months in october and i don't know i was thinking about doing the big chop now..but i think i'm not feeling confortobale at the moment with the lenght that i have. so i think i will be transitioning for a couple months. thanks for sharing all of this

  • @AfroFromCapeVerd Thanks Love! Congratulations on your progress! 1 year is a long time of transition ;o) You will know when you're ready to cut. Thanks for your message doll!

  • I will be sure to keep you posted. I will be doing videos on her hair journey in the near future too.

  • I give your daughter major props because kids are so cruel (esp. these days) so that's great her self esteem is strong enough to brush them off. When I was a kid I KNOW I wouldn't have been strong enough to transition. Beautiful hair!

  • @napturallycurly You Know! I thought about it and put myself in her shoes, and she did real good. I watched a video on familygoingnatural where the little girl (probably same 12 or 13 years old) did a big chop--her natural hair was still short. And her self esteem was so strong. She said the kids joked her. I was impressed by how she dealt with it. But her mom is a very strong and positive force. Thanks Love.

  • I love your daughter hair. It look so beautiful. You can tell the relax ends and the healthiness of the natural hair. Way to go. I just hope I can last 2 yrs. the in between stage is very hard. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Cwest2930 Thanks Love! You will be fine. Yes, the in-between stage is the hard part. Just search youtube for transitioning hair style ideas. Then when you get weary and need a break, look into braids. That gives you a break and your hair a chance to rest while it grows more. Thanks for the message

  • This is great! I am beginning my transition from texturized to natural and I am planning on transitioning for a few years as well.

  • @MissDarcei Congratulations on your transition! Thanks for your message Love

  • This was such an inspiration. My daugther who is only 8 wants to go natural bc mommy is natural and I didnt have a clue on how to let her transition as a kid lol considering I transitioned for 15 months before I chopped my relaxed ends. So please keep the vidoes coming this was veryyyyyy helpful :-)

  • @divarlm Hey Love! I transitioned for 15 months as well. You pretty much are a pro then ;o) You can guide her. I think at 8 they let you style them up. Theres lots of cute girls hairstyles that will help with the transition. OMG she's so young and so SMART. And of course they always wanna do what mommy is doing. Blessings Love.

  • I loved your video because i'm transitioning my daughter's hair she is 13. She is not happy about it so I will show her your video. She has no gotten a relaxer in seven months. Thanks for the motivating video.

  • @curlybuff101 Hey Love. Thank you for the encouragement. It is truly appreciated. We made a few compromises along the way (heat passes, etc). But I had to stand firm. My mom wasn't in agreement with what I was doing, and she often joked that she would put the relaxer in her hair while she visited. So you may get some opposition, but tell her to see it through to her goal length, and then tell you how she feels about it. 7 months is excellent! Try to help her with the styling. Keep in touch--tia

  • Wow... This is beautiful ! Congrats to you and your daughter on the progress!

  • @Bre0320 Thanx Love ;o)

  • Wow, that's a lot of growth! Her straightened natural hair looked so much thicker and her hair is so pretty in it's naturally curly state too!

I'm 19, and14 months post transitioning..began my transition during my senior year of school. I plan to pull through this journey for another 6-10 months. Gosh, she is so LUCKY to have a mom who helped her throughout her transition. Transitioning is a hassle sometimes, especially when you're on your own with no support.

  • @raven721m I wish I would have thought to dump the chemicals when I was 19. You're very young to have the mindset that goes against the "norm". That's why I know you'll be able to finish up your transition no problem. 14 months is pretty much a wrap. The rest is just a matter of getting to know your curls. Congratulations Love! Thanks for your message and please keep in touch...--tia

  • That was a great video and great inspiration!!! Yall could pass for sisters!!!! You both are gorgeous!!

  • @LaLa0914 Thanks for the Love Beautiful ;o)

  • Beautiful is the word that comes to my mind watching her progress.....

  • @Priscils661 Thanks Beautiful!

  • You have beautiful natural hair. Rock it.

What type of products do you use.

  • @VeeVee2035 Thanx Love! We use mostly all natural products (Giovanni, shea moisture, shea butter, aloe vera gel, lots of oils)

  • Great job mum! See we know what we doing right?

  • @msbrownsugar75 Thanks Love! You know we know what we doing!!

  • What a great journey! I have been keeping up with all 3 of you ladies for a while now and I must say the journey have been something to celebrate. Such great progress and im sure she is inspiring others at school. Thanks for sharing with us.

  • @missthis897 Hey Love! Thanks for celebrating with us ;o) She says she gets compliments now in school (1st year high school). No one asks her about the relaxer anymore. Now they want to know if she's "all black". Boy I tell you--we all got a lot to learn ;o) Thanks for the Love! Party wouldn't be the same without u --tia

  • I'm 7 1/2 months into my transition we all need that extra inspiration to keep going because I have people say "oh girl you have a lot of new growth you need a relaxer" but I pay them no mind, I have very thick coarse hair and I have some family members who have a much softer texture say they can't do the natural thing but they will go out and buy curly weaves. I know in the end I will have the thickness I want, it will be longer and stronger. Thanks so much for keeping me motivated.....HHJ

  • @kikicouture10 Hey Doll! Congratulations on your transition! You bout to hit the year mark soon! The funny thing about transitioning--at 8 months (hers and mine), our natural hair growth didn't look like what it looks like once you cut off those relaxed ends. You will be in for a nice surprise once you cut later. I know, I get strangers and family alike telling me that "My hair not soft like yours" Hahahah! That's crazy talk. Yeah, you will have thick and length in the end. Thanx 4 the Love!

  • WONDERFUL JOB

  • @apreelle75 Thank You Love ;o)

  • Luv it! Congrats!

  • @5808corey Thanks Hunny!

  • Thanks for sharing...you don't see many long-term transitioners on youtube! I'm 15 months post now and needed this to motivate me to keep going (aiming for a 2 year transition). Love your videos!!!

  • @LastNameCommon It seems she's gonna hold onto those last relaxed ends 4ever. She told me she would...I should have believed her. Congratulations on your transition! 15 months is a lot of growth. You'll know when ur ready to cut. You will not be able to put down those scissors LOL Even she had a fit with the scissors one day and I had to take them away from her :o) Thanks for the love.

  • Haah` , Your daughter looks just like you .

How old is she ? I`m 13 & on my 6th month of transitioning .

  • @to2cute4u Hey Love. She just turned 14 a few weeks ago. Congratulations on your transition bunny! That's excellent. Keep In Touch ;o) --tia

  • luv it...im currently trans my 13 daughter too...im 17 months natural which i did a big chop rocking a ceaser...so helping her transition is journey for both of us :)

  • @jusny4u Nice. You guys transitioning together. It definitely helps. Congratulations. She won't regret it 4 sure. Ooh I'd love to see that cut! I wanted to transition with a cut. That makes so much sense!

  • i transitioned as a teen as well. her journy was amazing to watch

  • @anewmeePassion I'm seeing a lot of teens heading towards their natural hair these days. I get a lot of teen girls who compliment me on my hair and look like they want to get more info. You definitely have to march to the beat of your own drum to go "against the grain" in Middle School!! I wish I had done it so early as you guys ;o) Congrats Love

  • Beautiful hair ladies keep up the good work. Love the song but can't find info on the artist anywhere

  • @Diggity520 Thanks Love. I purchased use of the song off of Pond5.com. Maybe you can do a search on there. That piano and guitar together is sweet.

  • definitely one of my inspiration , her texture is so pretty and her hair looks soo healthy.

  • @sweetbee06 Thanks Bunny!

  • awww this inspires me I have 3 year old who sees the little girls on the perm box and always says she wants her hair like that. I always tell her that her hair is beautiful.

  • @ROLOVE123 Yeah my 5 year old wants "straight hair" too. But they go with whatever we present to them ;o) I've seen a lot of girls at the elementary school with permed hair. Their hair DOES NOT look like what I see on the perm boxes LOL. Not often, at least. Thanks for the message

  • Hi! im transitioning kinda lol! i cut off all my relaxed ends in the back and left some in the front to make my bangs long!! ive been trans. for 6 months its grown so much!! but i was wondering how do u get the curls to lay down!! so i can gel the back and have straight bangs ya kno? lol if u cud msg me!! please and thank u <3 Raquela :)

  • @labebesita93 Hey! check out my video "quick wash n go tutorial". It shows how we lay down the wash no go. Congrats on your transition. You are doing it how I said I would do it (if my family didn't beg me not to cut my hair). I always thought it would be fun to do like a "Halle Berry" cut while transitioning. And work with the curls. That's hot!! Let me know if the video helped to get the style ur talking about. Laters.--tia

  • wow i am 15 and want to transition and watching this video is such an inspiration thank you sooo much :)

  • Congrats! Your daughter is beautiful......love her hair!

  • I wish my hair grew as much as hers in a year =\

  • im a transitioning teen ! im 11 months post relaxer !

  • Happy anniversary!! Her hair is so pretty!! You're an awesome mom to have!! I'm sure she knows it:-)

  • bet you she loves being a curly girl now!!! very inspirational, for many young girl this was great

  • @UtubeHairCare Fa Sho! She loves her curly hair!! It was worth the "stank eye" she gave me when people asked her what was up with her hair situation LOL

  • i love her hair. its beautiful :) congratulations

  • i love her hair. its beautiful :) congratulations

  • @itsRaei Thanks Doll!

  • i love her hair. its beautiful :) congratulations

  • Congrats! Her hair has really thrived! You did an awesome job caring for her hair!

  • @MsChanteJ72 Hey Love. Thanks for celebrating with us! Wouldn't be the same without you ;o) During her transition, she watched what I did to her hair and now she's pretty good at it! She flat irons her own hair and it comes out better than when I do it. I'll probably have her flat iron mine when I finally get the courage to sit down for 2 hours with my hair!

  • Hey Tia, you know I'm a fan of your transition as well as your daughter's. More power to her by the way. I've noticed that her hair has the same "V" shape as yours. This probably means that your hair grows longer in the back.

  • @flozangel Hey Babes! Yeah, it always grows into a "v". Hairdressers used to always try to "blunt cut" our hair--then I stopped them b/c it's always gonna grow that way.

  • Congratulations T!! Your hair is beautiful and I bet those girls won't tease you now!!

  • @sking3225 Hey Love ;o) You are so right! The story has changed LOL Now she gets compliments. Life Lessons ;o)

  • She has made great progress. Love how she handled her peers. It is so hard being a young girl in this day and age when being different isn't always popular. I think that is a testament to what a great mom you are. Love your vids.

  • @Jus2Jazzy4u Yeah, I used to feel bad when I picked her up from school and she'd tell me some of the things. Whatev's. If it's not one thing somebody can pick on you about--it's another. Thanks Love.

  • Her natural hair is beautiful and curly. Congratulations!!

  • @margo33 Thanks Love. I can safely say she likes it now.

  • Good Job Great Video should be proud. :)

  • @1cutefox Thanks Cutie!

  • She will appreciate this when she in college her swingin to her butt...beautiful

  • @izeprnzess I hope so ;o) She'll probably shave off her sides like Cassie! Thanks Doll

  • Thanks for sharing your transitioning photos. I'm currently transitioning. It was one year on June 29, 2011 since my last relaxer. My hair is almost waist length. I plan on straightening every two to three months or so and trimming one inch each time I do. I may BC after two years but I'm not certain yet. :-) I'm loving my natural hair texture!

  • @leshahine Congrats on making the 1 year mark! Are you documenting your journey on YT? I couldn't take it anymore so I bc'd after 11 mos.. .lol

  • @MsChanteJ72 Thank you! I'm gonna try and hang in there as long as I can. It's okay that you bc'd after 11 months. Congratulations on being all natural! No, I'm not documenting my journey on YT. I will think about doing that. I have been taking photos of my hair journey. So maybe one day I will upload them.

  • @leshahine Congratulations!! It's just gonna get easier from there on out. That's a lot of hair! Yeah, she flat ironed 2x month in the first year, but now that she's mostly curly, she wears wash n go's most of the time. You'll know when ur ready to cut. Meantime, you see you don't have to. Yayyy for beautiful hair ;o)

  • @007newnew Thank you! Yes, I will wait until I'm ready. Until then, I will just enjoy learning about my hair and what it likes. You and your daughters have beautiful hair. I enjoy your videos. I find them very informative and helpful.

  • Her hair looks so healthy! Good job mom :)

  • @MrTweety713 Thanks Love ;o)

  • great video! awesome job :)

  • @Hebbz1 Thank you Love!

  • happy 2 years to miss thang!!

  • @HoneyK1020 Hahaha Hey Love! Thanks Babes I'll tell her ;o)

  • So my daughter is 11 and we started transitioning last year in September. She wasn't happy, but it had to be done because we both experienced breakage with the relazxer. I wear my hair curly all the time but she still likes hers straight. I will show her the video because there's a light at the end of every tunnel.... Keep up the good work!

  • @newday081 Thank You Beautiful ;o) It's nice to hear from someone who shares the same experiences. Your daughter will be able to do the transition especially b/c she's doing it with you! Thanks for your message. keep in touch --Tia
