  • They all lay eggs!,getting them to hatch is another thing, there sterile!According to every fish person I've talked to,thats one of my favorite songs your playing though!

  • What color are the eggs as soon as they are laid? Then they turn white?? A see through whitish?? Mine laid some eggs and was wondering if they are already turned white? Or the see through color is the correct color.

  • I have a pair of parrot fish - Peter and Patty. I upload them doing the mating dance

  • only 98% of males r sterile so after a few spawings if the eggs r still white get a new pair if u want them so make babies

  • I have an orange (blood-red) and yellow parrot fish as well that recently laid eggs.. also. They look just like these ones in the video. I don't think they'll hatch, but the fish seem happy and "instinctual". That's good, right? I've heard the breed is controversial to own but I do enjoy them as I'm sure you do as well. Cheers!

  • i have some parrot fish fry that have just hatched 2 weeks ago

  • nice video...i will tape mine next time the fish lay eggs again.

  • hi,my parrot fish laid eggs more than 5 times buy none hatch.everytime it ate its eggs after 3 days, can anyone know why the eggs can't haych??puzzled

  • Male BRP are infertile.

  • @rbtke

these parrot fish are not a fish of 1 species. They are a breed between two different species ( i think oscars and red devils). these two parents can produce offspring but the off spring are not fertile. (though they think they are) It's like a mule. Mules come from horses breeding with donkeys. two different species making a sterile baby.

  • o,o

  • can a male convict fertilize the eggs ive heard from several that they can cause i have a female parrot she lays eggs and of course my male cant do anything with them so should i give it a try

  • @eyeloveu04

I'm pretty sure the eggs from a parrot fish are sterile because they (parrot fish) are the offspring of two different species (like a mule).

  • they are jellybeans and not full parrots. jellybeans are a cross of parrots and another fish

  • Are parrot fish Ciclids? What other fish are "Man-Made"? Mail me here!

  • r they cichlids?

  • yes but they are man made so the eggs will never hatch

  • is it the tank only keep two fish?

ur Parrot is average but u had took

an very good nice video of ur fish.

    nice one!!!!

  • i love that song and like your fish i also have parrot fish

  • But, you can always do what I did, which is get a female red devil and a gold severum and get them to pair up, mine had already been paired and I've had loads of fry :D

  • I've worked I about 18 different aqueriums and each time I've been told that they are sterile, not only that, I have 1 male and two female, they've spawned eggs over 20 times, but they have never hatched, so I can concure that, yes, they are infact sterile, bad new for those of you who want fry, the only reason I got them was for that.

  • When they first introduced, they were sterile. The ones being sold today are for the most part breedable. For some reason the sterile story keeps being spread though that's not the case

  • not being funny, but you are completely lying, parrot fish have always been and will always be sterile!

the only way someone may say they've bread them is if they have a red devil and a gold severum!

  • I agree !!!

  • epicness....

  • @MerkinMuffly

can you site some source. Just need some more info and details. this does not sound possible.

  • @vokutenks

    thanks for the info.

  • The females could lay eggs. All male parrots are infertile. But male flowerhorns could fertilize the females eggs

  • my parrot has laid eggs for a red devil.. have a look

  • mine have just spawned too, but I reckon they will all go white like last time :(

  • do the eggs hatch?

  • hey my parrot fish spawn all the time but they eat the eggs. I heard they the male is sterile. Too much inbreading. Correct?

  • yes they are sterile because there a hybrid between two different fish. Red devil and gold severum or green severum and green terror. its kinda like donkey and a horse makes a mule its sterile.

  • Hey man great healthy fish! STop by my page and check out my parrots!

  • LOL the music is so cute wit this video LMAO..Wtf Parrots breed in captivity?

  • am i right in saying the tailess one is male?

  • yes thats right

  • i just got my parrot fish today!

    There so cooooool...

  • They are part of the cichlid family and usually aren't agressive. Do you have a mating pair? I have a large Angle Fish and a gourami in there with two parrots. Mildly aggresive fish do fine. Like a Bala Shark.

  • hey i have this kind of fish are they part of the cichlids family and what other kind of fish do u recoment i can put with it because it killed my chinese algea eater

  • Hey man check out my page,...i have 6 parrots, an oscar, a couple frogs, a few corys and a black cat fish...they get along fine!

  • I have mine with...

2 tiger barbs (albino and regular)

    1 paradise fish

    3 ghost shrimp

    1 gold gourami
