Prongers wife hated Edmonton. They fought and she cut him off. He started gettin' it somewheres else. The wife finds out and threatens divorce if he doesn't get them out. Pronger threatens management with throwing game 7 if he doesn't get dealt. Half way through the game they tell him if he wins the game and the cup they will let him go. Half way through the second period wasn't enough. The Oilers lost the cup because of Pronger. Shame to Pronger.

Here's what happened: Pronger tells Lowe mid-season that he wants to be traded. Lowe tries to talk him out of it. Pronger doesn't back down, and at the end of the season reminds Lowe that he wants to be traded. Lowe says fine, but it will only be when we get fair return, and that may mean sitting out part of next season. Pronger tells his agent and heads to Mexico, his agent calls up Stratchan in Toronto, he leaks it to the media, and Lowe has to make a move quick before Edmonton implodes

Why are you oiler fans so pissed about Pronger? Sure he demanded a trade because of personal reasons, but what if you had to leave a city because of your personal reasons? Pronger contributed alot to the oilers and if it wasn't for him, the oilers wouldn't even made it to the stanley cup finals or not even make it to the playoffs.
