  • the silver city is a town in west nsw near the adilade border, called Broken Hill

  • 13 people hate Vietnam X-(

  • I'm Vietnamese... and i love this song so much!!! :D

  • lol people need to lighten up. I laughed my head off at the "vets" bit. I think we all know it means Vietnam veterans but all my life it's amused me how someone that didnt know better could assume it meant this type of vet. I cracked up when I saw that bit.

  • video is part stupid part poignant. pity about the stupidity....

  • ölkgjösdofjj

  • nun ja, ich habe hier einen besoffenen australier auf dem haus sitzen und er finet das lied super doll....schön

  • That plane is in townsville

  • ok this video is seriously funny! i havent laughed so much at someting so stupid for a long time!!! good work

  • "The Silver City" is a reference to Broken Hill, not Sydney.

  • my old man was reletivly lucky....it messed my uncle up proper though....we gotta learn that war is not acceptable. Defense should be just that defence. Sending young men to kill other young men for old mens intrests has bein goin on since time began....its time to move on

  • Good vid mate....I know some gonna be upset cause of its serious meaning (my old man was drafted as a nz artillery spotter) but come on guys its got imagination! Hes just a kid havin some fun with it. I think its kinda funny

  • i think it is cute

  • Andrew , please find a responsible adult to explain this to you .

  • Uhm, I know what this is about lol. The video is made for the love of the song, i know its about a serious war (the vietnam war).

  • well made video my friend, well made indeed.

  • Cheers, mate

  • if you were trying to map Sydney in the beginning you put it on the wrong coast... Sydney is on the east coast of Australia, not the west

  • I know where sydney is, i live in sydney after all lol. Just turn that picture upside down and its fine

  • oh ok, i live in sydney too, i just thought you might want to do a picture that is the right way up

  • Also, you have little clue what a gunship is or even what war this is!

  • I couldn't agree more. The video is sacrilage! the most disrespectful piece of shit i have ever seen!

    Dont quit your day job.

  • For gods sake, i love this song and i made this shit clip show back in 2007 when i was 13. I didnt mean to be disrespectful or affend the vets or anything

  • ease up..i respect this song as i saw what veitnam did to my uncle....but hes just havin fun with the song

  • Although few, if any, Australian Army personnel were involved in the battle, the Australian rock band Cold Chisel chose the battle for the title of its song, "Khe Sanh", about an Australian Vietnam veteran.

Bruce Springsteen referred to the battle in his classic song "Born In The USA" with the line, "I had a brother at Khe San."

    wiki......

  • didnt enjoy one second of that.. sorry dude but thats just cut deep... u wouldnt do that for a song about the anzacs.... y the vets?

  • Have a bit of respect cockhead. Aussie diggers went and fought and died for this country and you go and make a joke of it like this. What a discrase.

  • that is soo not cool its direspectful all those aussie vets who lost their lives fighting in vietnam 4 our country...........y would u even think about making fun of aussie heroes any way that is just my oppinion

  • Usually i like these things.. But. personally.. I hate the fact you done a clip like that with a song about what aussie vets from vietnam.. It is.. Disrespectfull.. But thats just my opnion

  • The image for "black market man" is awesome. Well done.

  • @CosmoxYRik

Haha I thought I was the only one who laughed at that! :)

  • Yeah I agree with AliistairG, it's about a veterian after the war. I'm 16 and even I know that. But the clip is pretty funny even if it has nothin to do with the lyircs lol.

  • Ya might want to listen to the lyrics a little more closely. Clearly your interpretation of what the song is actually about is a little misguided.

Loved the aeroplane with the santa on the nose of it though!

  • Yeah, it was meant to be a big joke, kinda like a misheard (Exept i hadnt found out about misheards back then)

  • Yeah I thought it might be that.

Good job mate! You got some really good puns in that video.

  • andrew carroll?

  • this song is the best one from Cold Chisel, I remember when I was a very young kid both my brothers had the same album

  • I was about to slag this off, but the bad visual puns won me over.

  • This video is a credit to your country, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • this is crap and a major disrespect to our war veterans. shame on you... grow up !

When you have been through war time, then you may just understand what is at stake !

  • this is not even funny have some respect for the soliders that died in Khe Sahn and vet means a war veteran not a vet that looks after animals go choke on a grenade you dick

  • boo hoo

  • im homesick and i like your vid!!

  • mad cunt

  • thats the whole fucking joke you stupid fucking cunt.

  • yeah u fucken cunt in the video he put pictures of animals not veterans and that isnt even funny go fuck urself with a grenade cunt

  • ha ha ha

    classic song

    funny drawings

  • uuuhh dick face when he says 'the only other vets could understand' hes talking about the nam veterans not vetanerians u stupid fucking cunt

  • this is the first time iv ever heard this song, im 14 years old and well my mum said it is a classic song that every aussie should know so i youtubed it, LOVE IT

  • Good job buddy. I don't think the song needs any adding to but you've certainly done a great job. Love the crossed out 42 for the line "the answer sure ain't there" haha.

  • Guy that was bloody outstanding. I've grown up with Khe Sanh but you really added something to the experience. Be proud of yourself - well done.

    GJG.

  • I only heard this song for the first time earlier on today. my brother used to listen to it all the time when he lived in Australia so he asked me to lsiten to it. Its a great great great song. I love it.

Been from Ireladn I have no idea where the silver vity is, anyone wanna enlighten me ?? :)

  • silver vity?

    I'm confused

  • you should change the airport official guy

  • great video very funny

  • Ha, love it, Especially the flying choppers bit. And the drifting.

    Cheers

  • Khe Sanh for national anthem of Australia!

  • good video, but wtf is up with 0:45?

"i saw an old friend but i couldn't kiss her"

    ???

  • Ok, it was a crappy joke but "I couldn't kiss her because she was dead"

  • yeah but the lyrics "i saw an old friend but i couldn't kiss her, well she was lined and i was home to the lucky land"

what do they mean by lined?

  • Yeah, I guess i was making a joke of the lyrics...

when it said "she was lined" i drew a picture of her dead body and a line round her (like a police line for dead bodies).

As for lucky land, i put that that land there was lucky because it had a pile of gold on it. Yah, i'm confusing. Thanx for the view!

  • lol ok ;) 5 stars anyway!

  • I've always loved the song but that clip was awesome.. ya could kinda tell u were getting a little bored in the second half just throwing in random things.. loved it! on my myspace thing now

    . gold.

  • Yeah, I guess i was rushing it because i couldn't wait to put it on youtube. So i just threw in some old pictures i drew and stuff.

    Good you enjoyed it!

  • Great video! My life story! I was at Khe Sanh for some seriously bloody fighting. Took 100% casualties taking Hill 861 Khe Sanh. Returned home on a Hospital plane. This song expresses the essence of guys that fought there in the mountainous Jungles DMZ/Laos/Vietnam border. Never the same!
