  • I see!

  • umm...don't u guys hurt your hands? i was strumming and actually it hurts. :/

  • I guess 'revealed' means that they are so obscure that no one has ever seen or heard them before. Sigh! Another disappointingly (mis)labeled YouTube video. (One of millions!)

  • @jfan4reva Just a joke really. A bad one though, judging from the comments...

  • You are the man. Any more?

  • Nice examples, but certainly nothing is being "revealed" -- could somebody who knows how to do these strums try to do this over with a little instruction, please? Thank you!!!

  • I agree with the people who say he makes the strums obscure -- if we are going to look at a video with an awesome strummer, we need a little instruction in addition to exposure to the amazing strums.

  • Wow that was as helpful as watching paint dry.

  • that cool!!!!

  • Good strumming, but not very revealing. David Blaine Strumming I'm afraid !

  • Awesome to watch! Would love to see a slow motion version for us mere mortals to learn from.

  • Sounds more like a drumline when muted. hahaha

  • good skills. bad tutorial.

  • Hey Zaza

leg het nou nog 'ns uit zoals in Rotterdam?

alles goed daar? long time no see....

  • wicked! did you come up with these from drumline type beats? sounds like some stuff i do when i doodle on a snare drum. keep it up, post some more ukulele strums / pick patterns! mahalo brotha

  • How about showing us what the hell you're doing? just wasted 37 seconds of my life watching your blurry video. and another minute writing this!

  • I swear please teach me ugh...i have no idea how to strum..like do u use your pointer finger...thumb? what do i need nails? help me...

  • thank you!

  • In this instance, the very close camera work and good sound along with a careful sequence of strums is really informative. I'm a teacher by trade and usually would want more "instruction", but this is excellent.

  • yes have to teach us , what kind a video is this, just showing off and not teaching it

  • lmfao that ukulele is TINY

  • It's called a Soprano Uke dumb ass. It's one of the most common uke's.

  • intersting, but not particularly helpful without more details.

  • WOW PRO =O

  • During the fan stroke, what fingers do you use?

  • pinky and thumb > down

    index > up

  • the good strumming for while my guitar gently weeps is like DDUUUDD or like just up and down really fast

  • the confederate and the union are about to fight to the sound of drums

  • sounds more like a drummer to me. ahahah

  • even in slow mo i cant find out how he does that lol

  • Same. This video didn't really help with anything. He's a good strummer though, but still, no help.

  • tight... not a very good teacher though lol

  • Hey paisan, very nice and subtle strumming patterns. Don't know how applicable they are but the would be more so if you broke them down for the average listener. Good stuff! Showtime Johnny Pal

  • Ukulele strums revealed???

I doubt that they could be made more obscure without the use of a curtain.

  • c'mon if your going to show it, show also the slow part

  • cool

  • that G got rhyddym.

  • The rhythm makes me want to start dancing. :)

  • That's fab, zaza! I have a feeling I'll be watching this one a LOT!

    HH

  • that is pimp

  • Ah, thats neat, thanks

  • haha wow

  • The last strum is the best Thanks!

  • now this gives me stuff to think about, many thankyous!

  • got it

  • Aaargh! I'm there, right up until the last strum pattern, and then I lose it... You introduce an 'extended' thrrrrum: is it an up stroke and a down stroke combined into one longer sound?

  • awesome strokes, but how do you mute the strings?

  • aloha bruddah do you tink you culd put a bit slower versions of these strums please?

  • Superb!

  • how about a lil slower for us noobs?

  • Thanks for the strum workshop yesterday! And especially the gig afterwards. Plus it was real nice to have a chat too.

Well, I'll be off to Mendocino in a couple of hours to see more. :)

    take care,

    - Ville (the boy with the green cap but no uke of his own) -

  • Glad to know your name! :) Too bad we didn't get to say goodbye, I was off to a different planet friday night (i.e. Lost and Found club). I'll probably be around for the xmas uke party again and it'd be great to see you there again!

  • Thanks for demonstrating how to do it right :-D !!!

  • Thanks for that, short but extremely useful. Nothing wrong with that! less is more :-)

  • Very good strums

  • What do you use to strum? Had a go on my cheapy 20 dollar uke and it is very muffled.

  • thumb roll: index and thumb (both fingers hit the strings in one down stroke)

    split stroke: index

fan stroke: thumb and little finger (down) and index (up)

    good luck!

  • YOu have been pf great assistance/ Thanks very much :D

  • Thanks! Practicing away! You are an inspiration.

  • Thanks for sharing ukulelezaza. We need more like you to spread the uke craze!
