@mikiVStecktonik if you don't care about battery, then yes, cm is the best for performance. Jetpack rom, the one I'm on atm too is very good. But its like darky, a aosp rom. Still its faster and better imo! Method for cm, yeah should be fine.

hey man !!! I have been using cyanogen mod 7.1 o my sgs for months . then suddenly the phone stuck at boot screen after I tried to restart my phone. whatever I do, the phone will just restart and stuck in the boot screen. I can enter download mod and cm recovery by using three key combination. However other then that I can do anything about it. Do u have any idea what going on with my phone? thanks man i really need a hand here.

@liang0220 I really have no idea - u sure u didn't touch anything?

My suggestion is to wipe CACHE and DALVIK cache, try that - if that doesn't work, you might have to reflash the ROM - you may do so via a NO WIPE installation, thus not touching factory reset

if all fails, then u'll have to wipe install it or odin it

@totallydubbedHD I found out that in the past few weeks the fb and whatapp applications always force closed and the phone will start showing there was an error on the framework. Then I always just restart my phone to solve the problem. however this time is just stuck in the boot screen all the time. thanks for the advice man

@samadk00 no not at all - u mean u installed CM7.1 or not?

As usually that happens when its trying to boot for the first time - thus worth re-flashing over the flashed Cm7.1 to make it more stable/without bugs - I hope that makes sense lol

You need to flash via ODIN 4 file with repart ticked.

Went from Darky to CyanogenMod... and having two big problems:

1. Baterry Life. I can´t get Cyanogen to last 18h. That´s all I need really. But the maximun i can get is 10h.

2. Browser not working on my mobile network. Allready tried other browser, reflashing, but not working either.

Anyone can help me?

@jcdst 1. give the battery some time, but CM is known to have less battery than darky

Mate - how do I get drivers to install JVT Base RE from CM7.1? Install KIES? Odin doesn't recognise phone...I love CM, so fast and smooth but can't live without HD video recording.

@wihan1 well just install the Samsung USB drivers for your PC.

ODIN should recognise it, especially if you already flashed via ODIN...to get on CM7.1

@wihan1 no idea - CM aren't very good in terms of replying to their PM's...they said "upload it to your public dropbox" - what's the point in that when I have it on youtube + the file is over 300mb large...common sense isn't around there lol...

I'm currently on MIUI - Which runs on CM: just tried 720p recording = and it works

In terms of drivers etc..mind me asking this which might sound stupid...but how are you connecting your phone? As in via download mode?

Okey. So I found out a bug/problem.

It doesnt recognize my external SD card. So I dont have any music, videos etc. You can see my external SD card if you go Settings > Storage. But you cannot reach it from the"File Manager", as it says that my external SD card is empty. If I take my mobile to my computer it can see all my files on my external SD card, so it cant be that its empty.

Please reply as soon as you see this, its really really annoying to live without an external SD card in your sgs :/

I really loved the CM7 actually. I have used darky for almost a year now so Im starting to get tired of it. But I dont want to use CM7 if there is no task manager, because my batterylife was terrible bad, I dont know why.

Please tell me a solution to get taskmanager to CM7 and make better batterylife, I want the same awesome batterylife as darky have :D

Found the battery life to be good, but not as good as darky's, and I also found that having no task manager is actually good. There is a way in the settings to close apps, by long pressing on them - look it up on google, you'll understand better what i mean by this :D

So there is actually a task manager? I gotta try that out later, atm I am on Galnet MIUI. I just flashed it, like 10min ago. But I might go back to CM7 or Darky since I dont like the MIUI build so much. Its too similar to the iOS, I dont like that.

I didn't like the fact that I can't hide apps etc - I mean I don't need to see adobe reader on my homescreens, but would like to have it...

Task manager wise - not really, not the same we are used to. It basically works liek you would exit an app - in other words you long press the app, to close it (like you would on task manager)

@TVBNetworker well mate, here's why: First of all, the flash isn't a clean flash like flashing via ODIN, i thus had a lot of time just waiting around or bootloop problems - they are not necessary to show and thus the cuts.

More to the point, when all you have ever worked for on YouTube is destroyed in a day, you won't feel very optimistic/happy. I had my Adsense account banned on my original account and ONLY made TDHD in hope that it wouldn't be the same thing...guess what it has been..

In terms of the downlod, just click the link, and then a zip will start downloading, that is the zip i had :)

Each time i open my mouth they seem to just turn all against me - had enough of being "bossed around" - put it that way.

Haven't "turned my back" on anything, in fact I gave ficeto a tip on his OTA app, just today (a bug report) + still have JVT on my phone

@wihan1 CM is something completely different..CM is fast, battery is OK, and can be customised to death. Darky is very much more stable, slower, but has in turn better battery life.

It really is a toss up of what you want/don't want.

If you have time, try CM, if you don't stay on darky's JVT
