  • temple of vtec

  • its not the car its the engine....

  • Is this vtec engine better than the hayabusa engine?

  • @TopRated123 the vtec has about 20-30 more horsepower (dependant on rpm) but the hyabusa weighs less... with the right gearboxes i cant see that there would be much in it

  • Now that thing must be fun..

  • you actually feel vtec kicking cause this things soooo light.

  • that honda engine has a mini cooper on it

  • Nice car !

  • VTEC kicked in yo!!

  • And I thought the 1310cc Cooper S with fully blueprinted bottom end, ported and polished head, and 45mm DCOE Weber I had 20 years ago was a weapon. Times have changed :)

  • mini and honda in same video makes 240p a HD video

  • this conversion or the hayabusa conversion are just beastly.

  • Just to let you know i am 6' 3 and i absolutely love my mini. they are really small but the seats are very low so you get lots of headroom and lots of the space was saved on the outside. by that i mean an adverage door is about 15c, thick with all the arm rests and speakers door pockets insulation etc. but the minis are tiny! so the inside of a mini is alot bigger than you would expect

  • Minitec just kicked in

  • Any available dyno numbers you want to share? Or is that a secret? :)

  • omg, I just creamed in my pants!

  • Your mini looks super clean! love the color scheme, how much in total would you say it took you to get it to that point ?

  • stopped counting at 25, including everything...pretty close to it...lol

  • @0ta60n4 Damn, you couldve gotten a nice car for 25... Pity.

  • @AdrenaleeT He did, its a Honda Powered Mini.

  • Dear Santa...

  • el mini para salir los domingos a hacer mercado! xD xD xD

  • I own a Rover 216Gsi Mk1 that has an Honda 16v, 2.1liter, 116 HP.

Any one knows if i could fit it in an old mini? The engine has a great acceleration in the rover so i can´t imagine how would it be at 6000rpm in a mighty mini.....

    Thanks for your help!

  • @holamellamanloco

The Honda 16v was the best engine i've ever had in a car. Almost 100k on the clock when I sold it, zero oil leaks, brilliant mpg....and the only money ever spent was the usual oil, oil filter, and plugs. Then I sold it for a 2 ltr Rover built engine.....BIG BIG MISTAKE! Crap mpg, torque virtually non-existent, and leaked oil continually.

  • @Bulletguy07 i have almost 300k on my single cam non vtec motor and it doesnt leak a single drop of anything.

  • Pmanson, Lmao, its actually 7.5......

  • whats the power to weight ratio on this. its gotta be crazy !

  • do u have videos of the built or pictures?

  • I want to get one of a "true mini coopers," not the ones that are sold in the U.S. How much power can i put in it before i have to do serious modifications? I want it to be functional, yet extremely sporty. I don't want to gut the interior, rather leave it how it is. What kind of price am i looking at here for what i want to do with it? I want to give it like 200hp at high rpm but do it without adding any extra weight.

  • @LutzfromPS2 200bhp wont happen short of a GSR or 2.2 vtec, look to budget about 30 thousand dollars just for the conversion. it will ad weight aswell.

you must remember these cars were designed to have 60bhp :p

  • @northernlights664 $30,000? are you insane?

a vtec mini built from a brand new fibreglass shell with ohlins coilovers, racing fuel cell and 200bhp+ vtec engine will be around £12,000 (so around $25000) what are you planning on building it with? gold?

a basic mini is around £2000 for a sound one, a k20A is around £2000 (already 210bhp) a conversion from Z-cars is around £4000, factor is new brakes, new suspension and tyres at around £1500 and you have a monster for under £10k ($18,000)

  • DESIRE!

  • the light is right

  • how about showing us the results

  • do u have the specs of the conversion?

    im planning on building one

  • yes, a fully Laskey built B18C...

  • is that a b18 your using ? id like a turbo vtec mini

  • them rims r beaut! haha

  • dude if you can put in the engine and the tranny and do all the chasis mods you have a bad ass car that you can beat up and still make it last you a lifetime. i currently own a decked out mini cooper (non-s. i like the gas efficency) and id kill to have the austin w/ a gsr or any kind of vtec. but thx for the specs areasevenpro. really puts it into perspective on how bad ass this conversion really is.

  • @ecampo5 , thanks, its a blast to drive!!!

  • @ecampo5 You know what you should do? Go really custom (if you still have the car) and get an H22A VTEC turbo in that BMW Mini Cooper and that thing would scoot balls.

  • RWD better

  • still wrong wheel drive

  • VTEC-powered Minis don't play around at all. Car and Driver tested a Mini Tec VTEC and recorded 0-60 in 5.0 seconds and 0.96g on the skidpad. It's practically the automotive equivalent of Manny Pacquiao.

  • @areasevenpro LMFAO!

  • is there much cost and work in fitting a vtec into a mini,im really interested in doing one

  • if youre pretty handy, its no biggy (welding,etc)...plan on spending $5-10K more than you budgeted for....

  • great Idea put the biggest possible engine in a Mini and its a winner

  • i wanna know how much it costs 2 do this myself, that car looks like alot of fun.

  • cost me a lot more, but you can do it on a budget of $10,000 to $15,000...

  • the problem me n me m8 found was it torque steers to much wiv this conversion,, but it a little monster shame he needs a new body ( stuck it into a tree at the end of my road lol) i won the race in my standard cos i finished :) good luck all

  • a company in georgia, usa makes an all wheel drive conversion now with the honda b-series motor, problem solved!!

  • Why would you want to do that? adding all that extra weight would be pointless, the Mini is a great handling car standard or not. The only reason cars tourqe steer is because people drive with a heavy foot.

  • front wheel drive with lots of power causes torque steer, if more aftermarket parts were available to stiffen the front end there would be no question of stabiltiy. i have owned several high horse power hondas and with traction bars stability is dramatically increased

  • I own a Type R (EP3) myself, and i tourqe steered it myself when i first got it, but unless the person driving the car is a crap driver. Once you find out how much throttle to give it and when, you shouldn't be tourqe steering at all, give or take the odd momment when your angry or its wet and you forget.

  • I agree with your stability statement though, i have a JDM Rear ARB installed and it is much better over the standard EUDM ARB

  • how can i see that?

  • let me know how that awd works out...

  • Hey man. Are teh Vtec's the most popular conversion for the round front mini? I can't find much on the net about the process...cheers.

  • just use your imagination....

  • im getting a mini as soon as i can drive CARNT WAIT!!!!!

  • What gearbox did u use?

  • Stock Type R with LSD...4:40 FD

  • can u keep it straigt with that setup

  • man i suck at this computer stuff,my mini is at minitec its got 217 to the wheels, with type r 440 and lsd.they say its got crazy torque steer, how do you like yours, and is it really that bad, thanks for your time.

  • you'll get used to the torque steer...its fun after a while....

  • Thank you for replying. I have yet to drive the car.

  • Super!

  • was the red civic in background a donator? I specialy like ur rims

  • I have 2 b16a2 for sale........

  • wow. that had power. u can hear when the vtec kicks in. what is the engine size? and what engine size originally came with the mini?

  • I think it`s a 1600, maybe even an 1800 and the minis ranged from 998 to 1300 as standard

  • thanx. thats good to the person who replaced the engine. wouldnt it be hard to place it and fit it in a small area as i think the original engine was a bit awkward?

  • 1275 was the best they came out as standard i think

  • is this steet legal?? and can you put the bonnet back on..?

  • im japanese and i have mini!!

    mini inside vtec?? hahaha

    U crazy!! but respect you!!!

  • actually, its a VTEC inside of a Mini...thanks for the comment....

  • dude i am from greece and i am thinking to do the same thing to my mini.the question..is can i make this without to cut front end of the mini?or its gonna be more difficult?suspensions brakes?what should i use?thanks for your time

  • No ear plugs? ;~)

  • Im used to it now..hahahaha...no radio either

  • that's a fekin beast

  • how did you put this big engine on a mini :D

  • man know that's what i want to do to my mini clubman

  • thats cool as hell

    i wanna do it now!!!

    only k24 turbo

  • very sick car, i live overseas in the middle east and im thinking of doing the same thing, maybe not a b18, prolly a vtec b16...

What I wanna know is how fast it accelerates from 0-60mph?

  • FOOK ME!!!

  • would lsd help with torgue steer or do u already have one?

  • im running the Type-R LSD, and torque steer is expected.....not really a big deal once you get the hang of it.....

  • Who makes the VTEC engine.Owen Australia

  • honda vtec.. im currenlty in the procces of putting a starlet motor in a mini (dreaming stage) check out my video of one from ausmini dot com

  • honda

  • damn...

it must be damn fast man...

    can u control it?

  • ya, at 1650lbs with 220hp its quite a handful....ive become an official member of the T.W.F. (Torque-steer Wrestlers Federation)!!!

  • lol basically a golf cart with 220hp, nice install

  • ya its pretty fun....once VTEC hits, ya better be holding on with both hands....

  • awesome. would someone 6' tall or more be really uncomfortable in this car, though?

  • not really, i gutted the inside and pushed the bucket seat as far back as it can go....plenty room for me and i'm around 6 feet...

  • im 6ft im good in the standard seats. no im not a 18st brick house that makes the seats sag either.

  • nope i m abt 6'1 and i have no prob in mine

  • @ulcerprone you can always get good quality racing seat and mount it furthe back.

  • @ulcerprone nope. not at all.

  • thats awesome, have you made any passes with it?

  • i had it dyno'd since this video...put out 220hp at the wheels....the whole swap can cost you anywhere from $5000 to $10000, depending on what motor you get (stock or fully built) and how much the Fab guy will charge to weld up a sub frame

  • is this the H22 engine?

  • looks like either a b16a (with painted cam cover), b16b or a b18c

  • fully built B18C....

  • nice...hmmm

  • Wow i love you min man~ how much does the engine swap cast??

  • mutha fucker thats hot,so what was the stats?

  • this is so badass!!! super clean build!

  • what kinda numbers did u get?

  • around 200+ hp all depending on what dyno you go to...

  • wots the top speed of it, r u puttin any arches to cover those brill aloys.

  • havent taken it to the limit yet.....got some Fortech flares just gettin painted now....

  • nice mini, wot engine u got in it a VTEC.

  • i gotta a fully built B18C
