I just started to learn to play the cello and my goal is to play this one...wow awesome..It is so beautiful it almost makes me cry.... I think My dog likes it too.. He wanted me to pick him up as soon as he heard it. He sat here on my lap with his head side to side for each note... his head up looking and trying to find where it was coming from... (on the screen of my laptop)....he is so cute .. I must put that on you tube...lol..I just love Adagio for strings by Samuel Barber... Awesome..

What is the key note and tempo for this song?

@awwq89 I'm not quite sure what you mean by "key note," but it's written in Bb minor (I think - I would have to look at it again), but it uses a lot of Eb minors, F majors, etc., and loads of accidentals. As for tempo, I would say in the ballpark of 65-70 bpm.

Sorry, this is not a string score: String score must be:

Staff 1) violins I - treble clef

Staff 2) violins II - treble clef

Staff 3) violas - C clef

Staff 4) celli - bass clef

Staff 5 ) contrabasses (if needed) - bass clef (soundig an octave lower). All staves have divisi if and when more than one voice is needed. You hve a lot of E double flat notes, they clould be replaced by the more legible enharmonic D. Sorry for the criticism. I appreciate the good intention

@aihoschema No, it is not a string score. It was never intended to be a string score. It is my two-handed piano/keyboard arrangement that I wrote out FROM a string score, but it is meant to be played on piano or keyboard, and not by a chamber or string section. The E-double-flats were transcribed by my software that way. I tried to change it, but it did something weird when I tried, so I left it alone.

I appreciate the post, but would have preferred to see the orchestrated arrangement and tips on how to perform with original instruments. It is the "Adagio for Strings" - rather than the "Adagio for Piano". There are many wonderful keyboard pieces, but this isn't one of them. That said, "Adagio for Strings" is a beautiful piece of music,

@TheWannaBe2007 I think it would be difficult .I've heard versions of other classical music where the guitarist just trashes it by playing it at full distortion volume with no dymamics.This continues to keep the electric guitar from being accepted as a legitament instrument by a lot of strictly classical musicians.It's been around since 1939.

darn im learning how to create music, and i can not read the notes. I use a music producing program and i'm learning the ropes and i need the letters of each of the notes. Any place i can get the letter of the main chords? (the notes that make the melody, nothing from the background)
