  • imagine how fast it would go on water!

  • mind if I name my boat velocity in honor of you helping me so much? Brendon

  • @rcspeedboat Yea, I don't mind. I try not to name my boats anymore until after they are built. ALL the boats I've named before or during the build have been flops. >_<

  • @crispyspa lol sorry :(

  • how thick of aluminum rod is your cage made out of? I'm getting mine made at the machine and fabrications shop, and I just wondered how thick for it to be. Brendon

  • @rcspeedboat The hoops and rudder supports are made from 1/4" x 1/2" and the rest is 1/4" x 1/4".

  • @rcspeedboat The rudder supports are 1/2" x 3/8", Not 1/2 x 1/4.

  • @crispyspa is the cage for sale ?

  • @rcspeedboat Sold about a year ago, along with the engine.

  • @crispyspa boogers :( oh well, glad you sold it :)

  • is 14 lbs to heavy of a hull for a 22.5 cc engine, using a 14x7, or a 16x8 prop ? just wondering, because the hull that ptr34 has weighs 14 lbs, I wasn't sure, because i read on the forum that it doesnt hurt to go over 7-8 lbs :( :) Brendon.

  • @rcspeedboat No, but A 22cc engine wont spin a 16x8 very well, go with the 14x7.

  • What dimensions for the hull would you recommend for a 25 cc weedwhacker engine?, I have some plans that I got off of rcairboat forum, but.... Tell me what you think.

    Thanks, Brendon

  • @rcspeedboat Depends on what prop you use. I suspect a 14x7 3 blade pusher prop is the one you'd need for that engine. using that prop, a good sized hull would be 16-18" wide x 32-38" long hull having a thickness of 3".

Come on over and join us at (the link in the video description) RCairboats. .

  • how did you mount your engine? I can't figure out how to mount weed whacker engines....

    Thanks,

    Brendon

  • @rcspeedboat Mounting Weed eater engines is almost a one off fabrication process. This engine has mounting holes just behind the prop that are mounted to a 1/4" piece of aluminum angle. That angle is then mounted to the legs.

A link can be found in the video description, leading to rcairboats . net. It's a dedicated RC airboat forum. Lots of information can be found there.

  • I would like to know what model # the engine is and any other info so i can build one for myself. Thanks Bruce. brucewelds@gmail.com

  • @brucewelds The engine is a Chung Yang 27cc goped engine I got off Ebay and a 14x7 (3 blade) prop from tower hobbies.

I just looked for one on Ebay and there seem to be none for sale (with the prop adapter) If you have access to a machine shop, they can make an adapter.

Look in the video description for rcairboats (dot) net, sign up and get ahold of me there, I'm there everyday....same screen name. crispyspa. There are lots of ideas over there.

  • most best homemade airboat. i am in making process of three wheels 49cc chainsaw rc car

  • awesome ! :|

  • What material do you make the hull out of and do you need a speed control for servos the guard is made of what metal please reply soon

  • @1950dodgefan The hull is made from 1/8" ABS plastic. To control the servos, you only need the receiver/transmitter.

The prop guard is made from 1/2"x 1/4" and 1/4"x1/4" aluminum. Thanks for watching.

  • that thing is nasty! (in a good way)

  • please tell me the specs of EVERYthing motor guard, motor, dimentions, prop, etc

  • @Kpilot786457 I added a link in the description to more details on this boat, You Tube doesn't allow links in the comment section.

This boat was a flop, the balance point was way off causing uncontrollable spin-outs.

  • how do u make the rudders?i see u havent got there yet so can you maybe make a video on how to mount them to make them steer?

  • looks good will have to run them.
