  • Holy ghost notes batman! 0:33

  • high 5 if you heard phantom regiment in the backround at the beginning!

  • this line reminds me of one of the high schools in my area in how they play. EVERYTHING UP AND LOUD AS FUUUUUUU........

  • The basses DO exist, yanno.

  • @GRenzi14 Other videos of mine DO exist, yah know?

Other channels with the same section of music DO exist, yah know?

  • @GRenzi14 his user name is whsQUADS. yah know?

  • @DrumlineNerd5 I wish it wasn't though. Haha.

  • my school bought these drums this year! so sexy, thanks for your drums blue stars ;)

  • holy bitch tits mr. closest tenor

  • 6 people marched boston crusaders

  • @nickandbeninc uncalled for and rude

  • @nickandbeninc LULZ

  • @nickandbeninc Funny guy.....

  • so how many of these snares marched cavies this year? cuz i see one maybe two

  • What is it that they're using mounted on the snare drums?

  • Their style is playing through the drum

  • why are their drums so low? its as if they are playing through the drum not at the drum. anyone else see that?

  • @theCultureShockband Having lower drums and playing through the head usually gives a better look and feel. From experience, it's much more comfortable.

  • @SuperSquatch1 interesting! and did you notice how this book is written very similar to this years book. its just the style of writing. who is there instructor?

  • @theCultureShockband Their caption head and percussion arranger for the past two years, and for this coming year has been/is Tom Aungst. He used to work with the Cadets. He's very good at it. I love the sound of the 2010 and 2011 Blue Stars drumline.

  • @SuperSquatch1 that would explain the 2 kids from Dartmouth marching there

  • what brand of drums are these?

  • I thought my Audio/ Video was off sync at 0:36. Freaking sick.

  • I feel stupid for not paying attention to corps other than the very popular ones. Sick... So sick Blue Stars. Damn.

  • Damn, there's some low snares

  • those snares sound so sexy

  • what are those things attached to the snares?

  • @hasonjogue theyre called rivet crashes

  • Comment removed

  • @SnareCaptain123Moo You're right. They only wish they could be on your level. You're just some guy on youtube. You obviously have the credentials to teach this line.

    Oh wait...

  • @SnareCaptain123Moo Nevermind, you made your account today, and you've already trolled at least 5 videos. Your profile says you're 20, yet you say you're the section leader at dartmouth...hmm...Paradoxical.

Probably JessOnTheRun who got pissed his account got deleted so you made another to troll on. Good job, now go get a life.

  • @SnareCaptain123Moo Ok num nuts I'm dartmouth's center snare as you claim to be and also i was in this drumline your honestly stupid....

  • high pitched dutter 0:16

  • lol look at the boobies on the end tenor xD

  • They throw down like men, nuff said.

  • what you dont see here is..they kill people.

  • I don't care if Tom Aungst, Scott Johnson, Lee Beddis, Jim Casella and Mike Mcintosh all knocked up the same Hooker and it's baby wrote their book in the future and sent it back to this drumline. I still wouldn't like it. Just an opinion dude. No discredit to Aungst, he's taken a giant step away from the activity by leaving the cadets, but he's still king in my book. Probably doesn't mind making a little dough on the side helping out with some arrangements. However, I still just don't think the

  • Yeah Travis! I see you grooving out.

  • @antonio006 Justin Lewis took over this year.

The book is VERY well written this year. No worries, man.

This was a big transition for them as a corps.

  • @whsquads

yeah with lewis there from the bluecoats 2008 line he well put this guys way deep into the elite 12

  • @whsquads I thought Tom Aungst took over in 2010.

  • @clarkferry He did.

I was referring to the 2011 season.

  • @whsquads I believe he's still the arranger. One of my friends just auditioned for tenors for 2012.

  • @clarkferry yeah he's still arranger, I auditioned there as well this year.

  • @whsquads Regardless, I agree. Justin Lewis is staff there, and he's pretty badass.

  • @antonio006 I'm pretty sure Tom Aungst is a great arranger and know's what he was doing with this corps. They've been in World Class for awhile now, they're a strong line. Aungst is still with them for next year (he did wonderful things with The Cadets the past 15+ years) and Justin Lewis is making an impact with them too.

  • @antonio006 We'll be sure to pass on your comments to Tom Aungst that his writing sucks

  • @antonio006 I suppose u'd like to tell Tom Aungst himself that he wrote a bad book...he'll probably listen to you because ur opinion counts more than his experience.

  • @antonio006 this line got 5th in quarters. this book is not overwritten for this line. it sounds like ur mad, want to talk about it?

  • @antonio006 Yupp, Tom Aungst clearly has no clue how to write for a drumline and doesn't seem to have any success... have you seen their show? the break fits in very well with the music and the theme of the show.

  • I can just watch your videos over and over all day. Your camera is sexy.

are you getting more shots this year?

  • @xkomatsuxx

I am headed to Allentown on the 5th and 6th!

    Week before finals week!

Get stoked. I have a lot of new toys!

3 new lenses to be, exact ;)

  • Where can I get some music for this?!

  • Here are the lyrics to the notes right after the count off:

    TEN-DO-NI-TUS I CAN.. FEEL IT!

  • are those mapex drums

  • @TheDragonmaster18 Pearl.

  • left of center tenor looks like wee man and its funny.

  • dang, the snares have low drums... but i guess it depends on how comfortable they are with it like that.

  • those tenors are beautiful, and they sound so dam nice!

  • Somebody please transcribe the quad part, im too lazy.. haha

  • ......0_o...inner beats..

  • it almost grooves there for a second...

  • :32 - :35 made me scream profanities!

  • God I love the sound of those hybrid mallets

  • fake... sticking

  • idk what it is but the drums sound really thin

    almost like a birch shell

  • does anyone know if they are going to put those snares up for sale? or if they already have?

  • If only they were clean.

  • Are their drums low? its looks pretty sweet. I like their style

  • tenor closest to the camera looks like he gets tense in his shoulders sometimes... idk maybe its just me... he brings em up n looks uncomfortable...

  • That ghost note section at 0:34 is pretty sick

  • @tommy2122108 It looks reaaalllly cool on the tenors

  • Those harnesses look uncomfortable.

  • @ConklingDrums I'm not a drummer but I have worn those harnesses before. They are actually quite comfortable. Much more than any drum harness I've ever had on before.

  • They play with such sac. I'm hoping to march somewhere in a year and I would definitely consider auditioning for Stars.

  • Move over, Devils xD

  • snares are crispy as hell

  • at :18 secs. look at the eyes of the quad player closest to you. He gives the camera an evil death stare. SCARY!!!!!

  • Im a tenor player but if I were to join dci or a college line i'll try out for bass

  • what drums are they using?

  • tenors have synchronized head movements at 1:20 :D

  • Holy shit.. Good job blue stars. That was tasty. But why does the center snare play so damn hard? Look at the beads when he's tapping off.

  • @beatifier He is a boss.

    That is why.

  • @whsquads is he center again in '11? or did he finally age out? lol

  • @pyromaniac204060 He's marching again.

  • @BenGaut so its like his fourth year at center.

    damn

  • @beatifier thats my awesome snare tech!!

  • @beatifier That's just the technique that Tom Aungst brought with him when he came to Blue Stars

  • @beatifier because they use a certain technique. And yes, I agree with whsquads. He is a boss.

  • @beatifier the way his beads look is more from just being relaxed and not stopping the stick...and also being a boss..lol

  • @beatifier It's because at the Blue Stars, they're all about playing hard. I'm not a huge fan of that, and I don't like their snare technique at all. I hate how their arms go forward and out instead of up, and I hate how low they wear the drums. They're good, and they play well, I just don't care much for the way they do things.

  • @beatifier They play into the drum unlike other corps who are pussies. cough cough Blue knights

  • @beatifier he's feeling what he's playing. that's what happens when you feel what you play

  • what r the snares using as their attachments?

  • Blue Stars...that was beautiful.

  • This is sick. Completely deserving to beat vanguard.

Should have been in the top 5 if you ask me.

  • holy balls, i want the centers hands. jesus.

  • sweet ghosting at :33

  • i never saw so much slicing!

  • @lanzy95 nobody cares. they get so much sound out of their drums that a slice is insignificant

  • @TenorBoy2011

you should see it when it isn't on youtube.

    This quality is actually terrible.

    haha

  • @whsquads

You should put it on vimeo, then! DO IT!!!!!!

  • this is very nice. love the music and occasional weird timing stuff. very impressive, and not to mention very clean.

  • 0:51 OH LAWDY, PINKYS

  • best blue stars drum book in recent memory. the kids are playing their tails off and the staff did a phenomenal job establishing a consistent look and sound. woo!
