@theCultureShockband Their caption head and percussion arranger for the past two years, and for this coming year has been/is Tom Aungst. He used to work with the Cadets. He's very good at it. I love the sound of the 2010 and 2011 Blue Stars drumline.

I don't care if Tom Aungst, Scott Johnson, Lee Beddis, Jim Casella and Mike Mcintosh all knocked up the same Hooker and it's baby wrote their book in the future and sent it back to this drumline. I still wouldn't like it. Just an opinion dude. No discredit to Aungst, he's taken a giant step away from the activity by leaving the cadets, but he's still king in my book. Book is overwritten for this line. I give blue stars props for surviving the div. II/III phase out, but this is a pretty rough and unclean run. The writing is annoyingly repetitive as well. Sorry guys, it's not your fault! blame your staff. Stick control as a drum solo = epic failure and no groove.

@antonio006 I'm pretty sure Tom Aungst is a great arranger and know's what he was doing with this corps. They've been in World Class for awhile now, they're a strong line. Aungst is still with them for next year (he did wonderful things with The Cadets the past 15+ years) and Justin Lewis is making an impact with them too.

@beatifier It's because at the Blue Stars, they're all about playing hard. I'm not a huge fan of that, and I don't like their snare technique at all. I hate how their arms go forward and out instead of up, and I hate how low they wear the drums. They're good, and they play well, I just don't care much for the way they do things.
