  • do u have 7 or 8 discus in this tank? very nice tank!!!!

  • @aggie226 it's frozen bloodworms

  • Sehr gut gestaltetes Video! Prima Aufnahmen!

  • nice tank setup.

  • nice tank! where did you get that feeder from? I need one!

  • Nice tank. What is the music in the background?

  • Let It Be Me

    50's song

  • Let It Be Me.

    The Everly Brothers 1964

  • acará-discos from amazonas river. wonderfull

  • its hard to tell its not salt water. I had a tank of these once, the colors were awesome, and rare. unfortunately i had to sell them all. but got a good amount for them. they are nice to fill your tank with if you like pretty fish.

  • its a really pretty tank. i just worry do the little fishes get to eat? lol im sure they do... =]

  • im buying 6 discus, i already have 1- i also jave a motoro stingray

  • Hey, congrats on your tank!!

    Amazing.

What are the tap water parameters in your city? My tap water is alkaline and everybody says I should get an inverse osmosis equipment... What would you say...

  • im bored on cam

    great vid Ev

  • what light are u using?i really need to know

  • Heyy all i have a few questions i am planning to purchase a new tank and some discus i was wondering how many discus i could keep in a four foot by one foot tank?? and what other fish i could keep with them(perhaps a ghost knife)????/

  • I wouldnt really keep them with a black ghost knife fish, they can get a little aggresive for them, but im sure people have kept them O.K sometimes together, just like people have kept discus with angels sometimes successfully, it just depends if you want to take a risk. best wishes

  • One discus per 10 gallons is usually good to go by. You need a very big tank for discus.

  • Love your discus. I have 12 myself and have found them truly fascinating. Tell me, what is that contraption that you feed them bloodworms with? A great video!! Deborah

  • Discuss is the most exotic freshwater fish. I like them.

  • How much is that tank ? I'm going to buy one. thanks!

  • very goood!! keep it up

  • Hi ! I was wondering if its hard to take care of discus fish ?because i wanna put put somethin in my 20 gal tank and i really like the discus ... im wondering what are the things you need to properly take care of the fish ? thank you ! =

  • discus keeping should only be attempted by experienced aquarists, they are notoriously difficult to keep. The tank must be appropraitely planted and very big. The water composition must also be very specific otherwise these fish will become sick and die quickly

  • i have a discus tnk too, a 55 gallon with 4 discus and two angel fish. is that first discus the breed called "brillant?"

i've got one yelloe pigeon blood, one wild blue, one purple and blue discus, not sure of the name, and one white diamond, and i thought that if that was what they called brillliant then that would be the next one i would like to get

  • nice background music eyyyy?!!

  • gerçekten güzel akvaryum elinize sağlık :) nice discus tank

  • really good images!!! how can u do so good video?

  • nice

  • Hi, first off amazing Discus. I am new to Discus and have had no problems except for agression. I have a blue Diamond and another Discus in a 45 Gallon tank plus 4 other neons. The blue diamond constantly chases the other, my tank is well planted and has lots of driftwood... any suggestions? Thanks

  • Discus are shoaling fish and do better in groups of 4 + ideally over 6.

  • Nice Tank

  • i want another 55 gallon but cant aford i might save up and buy some discus

  • too bad my local aquarium store sells them for 100 each. :(

  • lol i get mine for 25 each. i work at a pet store so i get them at cost

  • ha i like the little snakeskin

  • What colors! So beautifull! Thank you!

  • i got to ask mate, where did you get ur discus?

  • very very nice....aquarium

  • where did you buy that little feeder cone?

  • THAT IS A GREAT TANK ONE TO BE PROUD OF.

  • real pretty ... congrats.

  • great diskus tank like it a lot!!!

  • WOW, that is a great fish tank.

Congratulations, u have made an excellent work, i admire u.

    Keep it up.

  • very nice steelcity ive always wanted a discus tank. but i read they are hard to maintain.

  • fajne akwarium ;)

  • :) bellissimo!

  • how many gallons is ur tank?

  • real nice Aquarium!!!!!

  • thank you!

the thing i sayed was that :shrimp:

  • The thing at 2 min was a pigeon blood discuss with a type of shrimp in the backgroung

  • what was that thing at 2:00?

  • your discus seem to be gulping alot what temp is your water?

  • What kind of discuss are they?

    What tetras are those?

Is that a shrimp in there? How come it hasnt become discuss food?

Im not going to get so many, but 2 discuss with a school of small fish would be ok i guess...

  • Those shrimp are too big. I do feed them small feeder ghost shrimp. They love them...84 degrees.

  • thats a 40gal right there.... Only 2gals more than mine.... The way I was tuaght, I can only keep 2 (a pair) in my 38gal. Which is why I was suprised to see so many in that 40gal.

  • I have a bit too many fish in my tank, but they are doing fine because I have a lot of filtration. I double Emporer bio filter, a UV light w/ a strong pump, regular air and a power head. So, if you use really good filtration/air they should be fine.

  • you cant keep any in your 38 gallon 65 gallon is the BARE minimum 100+ being ideal

  • i have discus in a 40 gallon as well as a 20 gallon.they are just fine as long as you have execlent filtration and do water changes (10-15%) 2 or 3 times a week

  • 2-3 times a week? you are killing me.. are you sure once a week is not enough? i really like discus but they sound like a lot of work

  • they ARE a lot of work :3

  • If your fish are not overcrowded and you don't overfeed, once a week should be sufficient. I changed the water 2-3 times a week when I first got my discus but once they were acclimated and doing fine (about 8 weeks) I cut back to 50-75% changes once a week with no problem.

  • Sorry if it sounds like an interogation. I had to cut down to 500words or less.

  • Whats the complete setup?

What kind of discuss are they?

    What tetras are those?

Is that a shrimp in there? How come it hasnt become discuss food?

I see cories, but whats that other bottomfeeder? Whats that brownish crab-like thing I see in the background (1:55 in the video)?

A UV light? How much do those run?

Awesome. Just awesome. I couldnt keep so many in my 38gal, but ideas are welcome.

  • I see you had some feeder prawns in there.. I wanted some too but do they try and eat small fish? Smallest fish I have are swordtails

  • they won't go after small fish but they will eat them if they die...recycle

  • oh ok so wat do they eat if there are no dead fish? poo?

  • poo is their main course mixed in with some flake.

  • wow u have that many fish in a 40?

  • Hello, am I of mexico, does he/she hear that beautiful disks congratulate you, another thing that what you give them of eating is and that those worms that you give them in the cone are?

  • frozen blood worms

  • They seem to love them but FBW doesnt contain enough nutrition. I'm afraid of it as there is no way of knowing how many times it has thawn in transport.

  • how big is your tank

  • 40g

  • they are so so beautiful!! I've discus too and I love them!

  • if you like this video, check out my latest Discus video (they eat from my hands) at my steelcityfilms channel..

    thanks...

  • thank you... check out my other Discus video...

  • Everything about your tank is gorgeous! Wow! This one is going into my favorites.

  • Hey what kind of video camera did you use?

  • k gana ask aquarium store tomorrow just 1 block away from my home they sell lots of discus

  • dude i saw other vedeo with clown loach

  • 85 degrees thats to very warm man my clown loach well die if i buy discus and tempereture is 85 for dicus

  • Loaches should never go w/ Discus. They will suck the slime coat from the Discus and eventually kill them.... Not recommended.

  • are u sure cause i just released my 5 almost full grown goldfish cause i wanted to buy discus

  • Wow, shower tap water for discus. I used a mix when I had mine, 50% tap and 50% reverse osmosis.

  • straight shower power...

  • hi..my tank has been empty for the last 3 yrs.now, that i've seen urs...can u advise me how to start it and make it like urs? tks !!!

  • I got my new Discus, go check out my new vid plz

  • Hi I'm thinking about getting a couple discus. They are about the size of a quater.About how fast do they grow and what does their main diet consist of? Any information would really help me out alot.

  • they grow at a moderate level depending on the size of your tank and how much you feed them. I feed mine, regular flake, frozen blood worms, color bits and discus formula. make sure u keep it warm, 85 degrees. good luck

  • You have a great tank and health happy fishes. I love it. Good to learn from you that UV light helps on keeping fish healthy. I should get one for my tank also.

  • what kind of substrate are you using? Do you use a co2 system for your plants? What kind of corys are those? and what about that shrimp.

  • Beautiful tank!! I just started housing discus about a year or two ago, and love them...yours look happy, thats a great thing. Stop by my page and check out my tanks if you get a chance....

  • nice but why so many cardinals?

  • I'm in to Cardinals what can I say. They look cool when they school!

  • How big is your tank. What kind of filter and how many discus are in that tank?

  • 40g tank, dual emperor filter w/ a 5w UV light and a Powerhead. 9 Discus. Gotta have a UV light to keep them alive!!!

  • How wonderful! They look so happy.

  • very nice are those plants real?

  • What is that feeder thing called?

    the one with the bloodworms?

  • very nice, i'm thinking of buying a couple myself

  • I have been keeping discus in a 55 gallon for alittle over a year now. I keep the ph at 7.6, temp at 82-83, and do a 20-30% ever 2 weeks. I have a 1/2 gravel pit, and plants hear and there. I love your tank, im just suprized how many you can keep in the 40 gallon. I have 5 5-6 inch discus with a school of lemon tetras, and I thought that was pushing it. But best of luck to you, and keep those beautiful fish alive.

  • keep it warm, 86, PH 6.5-6.8, use a UV light, water change every 4 weeks, add Discus Essentials. I should do another video soon, they look even bigger and brigther now... Thank you for your comment.

  • Sounds Interesting. I plan to purchase them in august. When I do, I will be sure to post a video. Thanks!

  • Nice tank. What are your water specs? (Ph, hardness, etc?)

  • I keep the PH around 6.8ish... Temp around 86. UV light, emporer filter, power head filter. 40 gal tank...

  • Sound like my water parameters... maybe I should try discus again... got any tips? You did a very good job on the tank. Your fish show it!

  • Water changes every 2-3 weeks. Keep constant temp/PH and that's all I do. The UV light helped out on the overall health of the fish. It's easy!

  • Ro water?

  • regular tap from the shower!!

  • Also, I treat the water w/ Discus Essentials, Black Water, PH 6.5, a little salt, and a little Kent Zoe freshwater Minerals... I look forward to seeing your tank.

  • Oh and DUDE.. is that one fish see through?

  • very famous... and very see through..

  • Those are some famous fish now.. :) lol

  • Those fish are Beautiful. Wow What a GREAT Tank!!

  • thanks kind buds... much appreciated.
