Did she recycle the bottle really? Isn't that just a normal trash bin and the bottle will end up to a dump pit somewhere?

In Finland we pay a pledge that is bound to all beverage bottles. Let's say you buy a 0,5l coke costing 1,5 euros. 20 cents of that is in form of pledge.

Money is given back to you when you return the empty bottle. The system is national, so you can carry your bottles back to any store.

The bottles are then recycled to new bottles!
