cane corso breed are scare of strangers with out trainning these breed isnt the right protection dog for your home they will most likely run from danger then to deal with you'll be better off buying APBT
WOW! I dont think either breed should be diminished as better than any.you should protect what each person, each breed prefers to do with there dogs..Shutzhund is a sport of "proof" first phase: BH "Temperment Testing",Obdience,Tracking ,Protection.Any one that puts This dedication in the sport will be rewarded with a sound secure dog!The sport was desighne to prove the securness in the breed of the GSD.Only the elite can pass these types of phases thumbs up to those who try and achieve!
Any dog could do this.. bark at a stranger teasing him with his "ball." Pretty... but the reason why he's not going after the decoy is because he just wants the sleeve, isn't actually protecting.
Yeah I know about Corsos... but the dog has equipment fixation, you can clearly see. He's barking at the guy because he's kicking around his sleeve. The dog should be going after the man, not the sleeve.
Breeders are trying to breed the guard dog out of them for better temperment. Dont ask me why dumb ideal! Thats why this dog is protecting against the sleeve intead of guarding the man! I think the temperment thing is ruining the breed . I want a dog who will kill a intruder not keep them at bay!
SOME breeders. I know a load of breeders who are breeding guard and work Corsos.... I guess if you want one that guards to the death like Corsos have originally, you will have to search around and ask lots of questions to prospect breeders..
Cane Corsos Italiano didnt go extinct. Luckily for the Corsi there were few most isolated parts of Southern Italy remained, from the 50s till the 80s,

I didn't say the Corso went extinct. Somebody and I were talking about their ancient history. Although it's not 100% clear, it was crossed with the heavier guard dog with a smaller, lighter, more athletic farm dog, which -may be- extinct today.
After the 2nd world war there were few but were brought back in the 1970s by a few fanciers of the breed.
the sleeve is for protection only when train your dog but in real life no one wears a protection sleeve when they ready to break in your house you dumb ass LOL and even if they do cane corso are way to smart for that some attack you nuts and legs
The sleeve is for protection of the decoy's arm, yes. But as you can plainly see, this dog could care less about the aggressor.. he just wants to sleeve. Plain and simple. He's equipment fixated. I don't care if you call me a dumb ass, or get a thumbs down, I know what I'm talking about. I'd like to see this dog in serious Personal Protection before I believe it doesn't have equipment fixation.
yeah you are right and thats what makes this breed smart dog because if the owner were to let the dog go believe me you will see why the owner kept him on the leash
@superdupersonic well,I disagree when a dog is finished in the shutzhund sport, he will gaurd,I seen it many times,a dog when threateded will go to the person of intrest and will do a hold and bark and so on,how to you think the polices dogs are trained ?DA ,if you dont know what your talking about you might want to educate your self good luck!
Well... I've seen Presas and GSDs work better than this Corso here. Although he is barking at the man he's chasing the sleeve which shouldn't be the point of interest for him. I do agree that some SchH dogs will actually protect but I've seen loads that won't.
Good Video I love these dogs they are a lot more than just guard dogs but damn if i needed a dog for protection this is the breed I would have, the videos dont give them justice they are very clever dogs they understand training if you caught a corso on film really guarding as you know be a diffrent story brittish bulldogs and corsos my fav dogs.
you guys keep up the good trainning on these dog and forget what them hates say

I don't believe that a well bred, stable Corso will attack just anybody, even if they were trained in protection sports/ serious protection classes.

Too much focus on equipment and the decoy could do a better job, but not bad for a 14 month old.

You should google Red Star Presa and check out their equipment fixation videos.
