  • Wong Shun Leung, the good old man...

  • lol a shaw brothers rendition of wing chun

  • 0:49 Kamehameha!!! XDDD

  • 套招的還套那麼爛。。。現在電影進步很多XD

  • I really like old fashion choreographies

  • Nice slapping sound effects :P

  • thanks for posting this ;)

  • i hear he is a great teacher and true wing chun praactitioner who used to fight all the time in hong kong to prove WC effectiveness. i say that some of his movements in this vid arent too relaxed and flowing like they should be, but it could just be for the video. he is a true legend thats for sure

  • the real Master Wong video starts at 1:46

  • bruce lee's almost instructor...that's cool lol

  • My Wing Chun hero. Thanks for sharing.

  • Why wing chun stand like a gay?

What if I punch wing chun at the up beat of the fighting tempo?

  • @sahapoom1975 That's just one of the stances of wing chun, sir, and it has other purposes than just a way of standing. As with any art, Wing Chun is only as effective as the practitioner. Wong Shun Leung happened to be VERY effective. This movie is very basic stuff.

  • @sahapoom1975 what do you mean?

  • @artpwnify I mean, Wing Chun stance is so gayest and fighting in rhythmic, so it is easy to attact Wing Chun just by skip the rhythm. I think it is good self defense for office girls who wear a straight skirt because of the creative stance fo Wing Chun.

  • @sahapoom1975 you do know thats just a training stance, appying it in the real world your stance is neutral.

that just to strengthen the quads and caffs.

  • @artpwnify I see, and what's about the rhythmic fighting?

  • @sahapoom1975 Wing Chun can adjust to any rhythm. Yes, the guys in the video fight very rhythmic but it's for the video itself.

  • @sahapoom1975 So you have so much time on your hands you spend it talking out of your arse???

  • @MrZissi What do you mean mr.sifu?

  • Man, that '70s soundtrack and sound effects...But great Kung Fu!

  • The moment the funk bass kicked in I knew this was gonna be good.

  • 绝对经典。

  • You should proceed as your sifu instructs you. When you become so proficient that you are comfortable moving and engaging another person according to wing chun principles, and can do so with relative ease, then you can try things the way another person might suggest. But this way you have a firm foundation to rest upon.

  • Its one of the better videos about wingchun. It explains the principles and methods of wingchun very good. The beginner-drills are shown very comprehensable as well. I missed the mentioning of the `connection to the earth´ (footwork and stances to uphold a mechanical-system with the ground), since this is the mainpoint of effectiveness in wingchun. What i would like to miss is the remark of bruce lee! Couldnt he be a chess-player or a violonist? His name holds to all fake-masters of wing chun.

  • I have seen the bald guy in a chinese martial arts movie, but I just remember which one. is it The 36th Chamber of Shaolin

  • @vishwanathstorm

Yes I thought I was the only one, he is the monk that fights the main character to see if he's worthy enough to move up!

  • sorry but a boxer would have thrown 50 punches and taken them out O.O, they so slow

  • @gangstakurv they are going slow to demonstrate the ideas behind the art - this is an instructional video remember. My teacher has me practice wing chun slowly, concentrating on getting the movements correct before speeding up. If you want to see wing chun at speed AND done well search youtube for - Wing Chun Full Speed Demonstration, Sifu Kevin Becker - that will show you.

  • @TheFakeOrous cool :), i just referring to this video regardless of the reason but i believe you anyway!

  • @gangstakurv Wong Shun Leung took out a Russian Boxer named GIKO in 1964 who towered over Sifu Wong Shun Leung, standing at over 6 feet and weighs 250lbs (113kg). 50 Air punches in the won't help. It only takes a couple to take a guy down.

  • @gangstakurv They are just demonstrating techniques..You can look for a sparring wing chun dvd elsewhere.

  • LOL HADOKEN @ 0:46

  • This video needed some deinterlacing =(

  • 「豈料三分齊」

    「本懷天下計,豈與三分齊,一朝伸抱負,未許日爭輝。」

English Translation of 「豈料三分齊」。」[43] is as follows:

How Could I Have Thought of the Qi State Divided into Three Kingdoms?

My plan is to conquer the world,

how can I agree to the division of the Qi State into three Kingdoms?

One day when I pursue my ambitions,

I will not let the Sun take away my glory!

  • bun

  • wing chun is amazing. what i would give to meet ip man...

  • @DavidSaintOnge2007 Ip Man Rocks!!!!

  • the narrator doesnt know how to pronounce wing chun haha fag

  • who you believe is the best instructor from his students?

  • No sound effects were used in the making of this film.

  • @devourerofbabies 'no sound effects were used in makingthis film' yeah right

  • epic intro! xD

  • I don't understand how you guys say "close range fighting" apart from the difference in range between kicks and punches, aren't all arts fighting at 'close range' ? Aren't all arts just a 'fighting art' ?

  • @bebo3ful

close range fighting means like very near each other.

if you have a lance, or a bow, would you call it close range? no, you call it long range. same with guns

  • This is the best Wing Chum documentary ever.

  • im sure if wing chun was a company this would be the company video lol

  • @EmperorFour

no point in posting vids on youtube if wing chun is a company though.. you'd go bankrupt after 5 months more or less.

  • @ashrocks87 you are right i was talking about the look of the vid not the conten but i think you know that :) but you do make a good point

  • @EmperorFour

was fixated on building a business.. sorry, didnt notice

  • @EmperorFour lol when you said that I remembered all of the training videos I watched in the air force and they all have this old VHS feel about them like this lol.

  • @leka1622 well its ok if i call you a hero?

  • @EmperorFour Yeah Im ok with that ^_^

  • lol the demonstrator looks like he'd be knocked out in 1 punch.... then his assistant comes in and i go "LMAO!!"

  • lol square stance low hands and the general target is the opponents nose. and they even go on to say its "proven" to be one of the most practical self defense forms to date. come on that silly thought that all styles are equal is bullshit. this will get you killed against an opponent who knows how to box/kickbox/grapple.

  • @soundman420 So ur saying that a good WC fighter will get beat up by a pro boxer? kickboxer or grappler?

Well if they are good then it will be a good match.

Sifu Wong Shun Leung had over 100 fights and won mostly all of them using Wing Chun, and most of those fighters came from a different style.

Don't disrespect Wing Chun because of your lack of knowledge, study it with a GOOD teacher and learn it PROPERLY, APPLY it then see if it's good or not.

  • @aminul1984 The easiest thing to remember is Wing Chun was designed by Women. If it helped a Women to develop power at short range then what could it do for a Man. As far as I am concerned it is the foremost art for close range fighting. I however believe that it is only an add-on & not a complete fighting system for modern self defence. But as an add-on it can only help to develop & refine other arts.

  • @Weston1968 That is very true. Wing Chun is very good at close range fighting which it was designed for, it was not designed for ground fighting. If you want to learn ground fighting learn BJJ.

  • @Weston1968 hm.. here's a thought. fighting style for women=kickintheballs for men.... when it's girl on girl who needs any kind of style? i just get a kick (nopunintended) out of seeing them fight without it.

  • great video

  • is that grand master IP man at in the begining ?

  • WC footwork makes all the difference. WC was originally intended to be a battlefield fighting system. The idea was to to kill on the move and keep on moving. WC footwork is very good at moving into the opponent and stealing his balance. When a practitioner takes the time to learn, he finds a fluid, dynamic, powerful system that will serve him well if he values it.

Wong Shun Leung has beaten enough opponents in his time to demonstrate the effectiveness of this system. He was never defeated.

  • @Shilivan how did wong shun leung get so strong? he's hits look really strong and he isn't built like a weight lifter, but im certain that hit at least 10x harder than them

  • @TH3aznEmperor

A good strike in WC has more to do with getting a solid connection than with actual physical power. An effective striker will be able to plant their entire mass into the contact point of the strike. Fists, feet, forearms, doesn't matter. The trick is in delivering the power of the momentum along with your own intention. You strike into the target, not through it. You have to remain soft but strong. It takes practice. But once you have it, it's simple.

  • @Shilivan yes i know that you also stay relaxed when you hit and tense up when your fist is close to the target, but im confused since i know wing chun sifus that don't do weight lifting or anything and use only the arm without moving the body deliver blows much more stronger than boxers and etc

  • @TH3aznEmperor

That's what I'm saying. They aren't just using their arms without aid from the body to produce power. It's only that WC does it ever so efficiently so that it looks to the untrained eye that the practitioner is only using their hands. In some cases it can look like a simple touch. This is where that whole "death touch" thing comes from. Practice you structure and practice controlled relaxation. Then the power will come naturally as you practice. Heed your sifu and you will gain.

  • @Shilivan My Sifu says to focus the punch in my elbows and not my fist, so I can crash through the opponent.

  • I recieved a copy of this video from my instructor six years ago. It is inspirational. I have the umost respect for the people in it. Someday I hope to master it.

  • this is one of, if not the best w/c vid I've ever seen! Simple and full of info all at the same time... THANX!

  • The sounds are so fuuuckiiing faaaill!!

  • MAN! i let my friend borrow this dvd and now he cant find it!! crap!!!

  • LOL you can just imagine someone smacking two pieces of wood together as they dub over the sound

  • gotta love the sound effects hahaha

  • WU - TANG ! WU - TANG !

  • all bow down to sifu wong shun leung

    whu win??

  • Al ver esto, me dio ganas de comer pollo en la Cañoto

  • footwork is bullsht and wingchun has the best principles so stfu all of u, if u not happy with this or me , then fuck me in my profile, so far no one has been able to deny tht im wrong

  • @gatillquet yea I agree

  • yall need to shut the fuck up

  • Cool

  • my sifu know master wong. they both learn wing chung together, their forms close to perfection. awesome

  • Gagh! Monaural soundtrack. Hahaha!

  • He po-paied the shit out of him haha.

  • this is sick thebeginning is so funny

  • The opening sequence is not from a movie -- it was made specifically for the video. One of the martial artists is an actor and the other is a stunt man.

We wrote and directed this film back in 1982 for World Video...and we are still making videos...

  • wtf is this a1exgerman dick head on about-does"nt he know that wing chun use"s the strength of his opponent to the advantage of the wc practioner .i dont think this a 1 ex german learned any wc not unless it was some german pork snitchel sausage eating arnold swartziigger lookey likey rip off version, hey alex the german dont ask me to put my pic up on here r face book-i dont have time for sausage eating arnie look alikes-u numb nut

  • What is the name of the movie at the begining of this video. The wing chun exponent is Lee Hoi San

  • I dont know but i know another interesting wing chun movie called "Ipman" you might really like it unless you already know it.

  • awsome video.

  • tem legenda em portugues?

  • WC is the basic of Jeet kune do !!!

  • Stop arguing guys, like Bruce Lee said, styles are not important anymore. ALL STYLES ARE GOOD IF THEY ARE EFFECTIVE! And all styles if used INCORRECTLY will suck of course!

  • @super1commenter Bruce lee once said, respect all arts no matter they are good or not.

  • @BULLIER8 why show respect to a martial art that isn't good. a bad martial art is a lie

  • @Namriu94 thats what most ppl asked bruce lee. you would know when time pass by.

  • @BULLIER8 explain ur self =_=*

  • @super1commenter Many claps for this.

  • @super1commenter super all styles are good but win chun the wong way that is stuff Wong Shun Leung was undefeated, oh if you take into account the fact that his mate at the time Grandmaster william cheung took him out drinking the night before the match... think about that Wong Shun Leung was a legend

  • @prodgex I respect wing chun and wong shun leung, a talented man. Wing chun is a very unique style compared to other chinese kung fu styles.

  • @super1commenter yes agreed, but unfortunately martial arts are like religions to people, and they argue that there martial art is the best or this ones the best. and of course they will because thats there martial art and they need to justify this, the comparison would be like saying Christianity is better than Buddhism or Hinduism etc etc, and master Bruce knew this because he barely won the fight that the Chinese martial arts community sent to fight him to stop teaching the western world

  • @prodgex Yeah, also, Bruce Lee was a philosophy major and a psychology minor, so he was very open minded and he was opinionated on issues especially martial arts.

  • @super1commenter Thats what Ip Man said.

  • @DNate21 not what she said? LOL... nah sry just trolling, but yeh he did say that

  • i hate kids these days, they're such fuckwits, send them into afghanistan to serve as cannon fodder

  • A video with Wong Shun Leung and Gary Lam together would have been good

  • hey , , if i said something wrong,, i apologize, its just that i have a different perspective, , , i am a martial artist too, i respect your reactions,, live on!! wing chun!!

  • Wing Chun is one of the Most Powerful, Fastest and Most Direct Art Ever!

  • exept muay thai

  • @bigguvnor

How many Muay Thai guys can use their MT when they get old?

Isn't the average career of a pro-MT fighter really short? Aren't those guys generally busted up wrecks with messed-up joints and backs by their mid-30's?

  • i recon the slo mo realy helps to show the right way how to do the moves... that helps allot. i recon.

  • what an heritage

  • you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

  • i've seen someone demonstrate wing chun against a boxer who was much bigger than himself. the whole point of wing chun is that it doesn't rely on speed or strength. as long as you have good form, size shouldn't matter.

  • This is the part about Wing Chun that most people don't understand. Wing Chun is all about good structure and strategy. If it's good, your Wing Chun will work well. I once saw a Thai boxer get his ass kicked by a Wing Chun fighter. I'm a little sick of everyone saying Muay Thai is the ultimate martial art. Every art has their own strengths and weaknesses.

  • bruce lee was the only fighter from the wing chun clan that was able to beat a thai fighter...all else failed...bruce stated many times many wing chun fighters travel to thailand and lost horribly

  • I wasn't talking about a fight in the ring. I meant that I saw a street fight in Hong Kong where the Thai boxer got beaten up. Street fights aren't the same as the ring. You don't slowly approach each other. It starts right away with the other guy in your face with no warning and no rules. And it's over in less than a minute.

  • I know all to well about street fights and fighters. I'm a direct decendant of Bruce. Jesse Glover told me all i need to know about what went on in Hong Kong with Bruce, Wong, William and Yip. Alot of people don't know it...but there was only 3 fighters out there that represented Yip Man's WC. It was Bruce, Wong and William. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to you. Wong was the highest ranking of the 3 and he was considered the best fighter at that time of the Clan..(contd)

  • But the art was very restrictive against Thai Fighters. Lee stated several times that none of his Kung fu brothers had been succesful against the Kickboxers from Thailand. When you understand both principle and styles you would see why. Bruce Lee's modified WC or JKD was only good enough because he used the concepts of Thai, Western Boxing, JJ, Fencing, Judo, Wrestling and etc...If Pure Wing Chun is effective surley someone could modifiy it to use in MMA..After all look at Machida (cont'd)

  • and what he was about to do with Karate. I get sick of people saying WC is only for the street...Well my answer to them would be..So every time a WC guy fights..He must stick his finger in a man's eye?...In those roof top fights...alot of that stuff wasn't allowed...WSL did it once and he felt really bad about it afterwards...If WC is so superior then they should be able to win in any situation. ADAPTABILITY. WC is good if your fighting in a phone booth or a closet..but in open space- (contd)

  • one must bring their A game to be effective...I like WSL footwork...You can see this guy knows what he's doing...His advances and retreats are very fast and smooth...One thing I've learnt about fighting - FOOTWORK 90% is the deciding factor when two fighters are highly skilled.

  • That Clown as you call him...Happens to be the teacher of Bruce Lee, the creator of JKD and the man known world wide as the dealiest man to ever live. Lee created the modern day mixed martial art...Only in a more lethal no holds barred street fighting state...It's funny how arm chair fighters like you talk shit about men who would take your life in a matter of few seconds with his so called slowly timed nonsense style of fighting....Get the hate out of your life and get real kid.

  • Bruce Lee isn't the father of modern MMA. Vale Tudo fights were taking place in Brazil before Bruce Lee was even born.

  • sure u are...MMA fighter. Mr Mothers Asswhipe...Kid people like you get no respect...As for Bruce Lee...His name and his accomplishments speak for itself...I do not need to defend him. You claim u take MMA..Well I can almost certainly promise u that your teacher was influenced by Bruce in some kinda way. So put your thumb back in your mouth and fuck off.

  • Dude go fuck yourself...Youre talking ouf of your ass....No need for me to put a picture on here to satisfy you...What are you gay or something?....I guess you wanna jack off while looking at my picture? Put the crack pipe down...First you come on here and insult Bruce...Then you say you study WC...Then you go back and try to insult the art of WC...Kid stopped snorting crack and take that gay ass picture off your profile.

  • lmao..poor little guy. Cant go outside cause the big kid will beat him up.

  • @Leroshaft ii like how u think LOL

  • @Leroshaft

Snorting crack is a hazard to your health... you could choke. I recommend anyone interested in doing crack to smoke it. But thats just my opinion.

  • dude he didnt say it was shit he just said that using it traditionally wont work but he took conditioning and certain movements and improved them but he still respected different arts and their uses. idk why you and others are being so...Dumb about making your own individual points... Martial arts isnt about taking on the next person on anymore but to respect it and its traditional ways and to respect the individuals and their own techs. so id say just calm down and just watch this video

  • Your right. Martial arts is about respect. And I do respect all martial arts. I was provoked to this by a clue-less retard who hasnt spent a day of his life training under a worthy master and wants to comment on martial arts. I took wing chun for 4 years, and I came to the same conclusion as Bruce Lee, who only trained Wing Chun for 3 years, that rigid structure style fighting is obselete and useless in a dynamic ring. Youtube "Wing Chun vs etc" you wont see alot of WC winners.

  • I agree you might not see much winners but its still a great conditioning art that from my training has increased the speed and acuracy of my punches but come on dude everyone is going to have Their Own YouTube Troll to try to prove you wrong haha

  • Wing Chun is fine by itself. Perhaps what you should have explored after working with your master is dynamic footwork. Very few WC masters teach dynamic footwork anymore. It took me looking into 4-5 masters from different lineages before I found one from a Pre Yip man lineage. His footwork is far more mobile yet rooted than what I've seen even coming out of Bruce Lee. Perhaps u should re-explore before u write wc off. And no WC is not a rigid fighting style.

  • very true. if you cant master footwork everything else will be flawed

  • @thewhoopimen

On footwork: As a beginner, it SEEMS pretty rigid and inflexible. I can see how someone who just hasn't put in enough time with WC might be of that opinion. But I've found after practicing WC for a few years that after a while, a couple things happen:

    1. You get much better at it, so what once felt limiting and inflexible feels much better.

    2. You're able to use WC footwork as needed, turning classical WC footwork "on" and "off". The footwork works for you, not vice versa.

  • @a1exgerman

There does come a point where it gets less rigid because:

    1. You get better at it.

    2. This is difficult to put into words, but I'll try. You get to the point where you can make WC work for you instead of you working for WC. This is not to say you're not doing WC all the time, because you are, but once you get the gist of the system it really opens up.

And BTW, rigid rule-based MMA fighting can get you killed in real life. There's no ref, and the bad guy might have buddies.

  • Ok bruce lee never said that wc is shit, he stopped studying wc because he had moved to the us. And to make clear that wc IS effective, if used properly, a friend of mine, who is in the higher grades of wc, had fought a group of Morrocan people DRUNK and still won the fight. so fuck off. And if you were indeed a "pro-MMA fighter" you would have more respect for other martial arts.

  • dude u are the best german, just like hitler say right???

  • Sorry I dont understand what you are trying to say, your english grammar sucks, try learning a language before you illegally arive in a country that speaks it.

  • ohhh......i better shut the fuck up, hitler gonna sent some dumb shit to the us to kill my ass.... hahhahha stfu, he fuck u up in less than a second german shit

  • hitler was austrian..

  • Guess what language they speak in Austra. An which culture ther dominates (as long as the muslim invaders are not finished with conquering)?

  • actually bruce lee is not the deadliest man. he is the man that brought real-good martial art 2 hollywood

  • @jimajim what we know about bruce lee is a stone in the middle of the ocean, he was a great filosofer, fighter, kung fu master and inspiration for all the human kind, a mind that wasnt even ocidental or oriental, a mind that was always learning something, dont talk bullshit, he wasnt just a hollywood actor

  • shut up

  • @FIGHTFANNERD3 Go fuck yourself

  • @Leroshaft lol, good 1

  • @MrBuggaLugs no kidding..

  • but muay thai is the best

  • theres no such thing as "the best martial art" it depends on the practitioner

  • @Gatillquet agreed

  • @FIGHTFANNERD3

you're a nerd so why would you think that muay thai is the best?

and also you're channel's background is justin beaver so you're a gay nerd..

  • classic video

  • When did this guy cross train Judo? A pretty passable ippon seoi nage at around 1:28

  • hoiiiii wahhhh *wack* uahhhhhh hoiiiiiiiiii *wack* *wack* *slap* ahhhhhhhhhhh

  • lol well said friend

  • rest in peace??!!

  • Wong Shun Leung died in 1997.

  • Comment removed

  • its a good fight scene but the wing chun guy is holding back

  • Mordad89, you are the man!
