JJack, it's a known tradition; they've been doing that for years. They waited 70 minutes so the other team and the public would have time to leave, first. And they're far from the first team (or sport) to do that.

They were trying to be respectful to the Americans, but the press decided to linger like vultures and make a story out of nothing. You'd think the team brought out 5 prostitutes and a pound of weed during the medal ceremony, the way people are screaming about it!

The only circumstance where it could be a possibility is if there was a global water shortage, because of the large quantities of freshwater. Apart from that though, Canada is actualy known as a peacekeeping country. And you would be correct in saying we have a small army, simply because we don't need one. The vast majoity of military work done by Canada is relief and aid, as opposed to invasion.
