When I got my nose pierced it didn't bleed at all. The needle and stud were both 18s. Your needle could've been 18 or 16 and the stud size 20 or 18. Not being a know it all I swear. The guy who pierced mine told me that some piercers use a size bigger instead of the size that the stud is. I went to MN Rose of No Mans Land

it does hurt but not so bad that you will cry or even complain about it. its quick and done :) after its done its just sore to touch like any piercing is. hope i helped:)

@BluedoggehLuv When it goes through, yes it hurts. But everyones pain tolerance is different. who knows? it could actually not bother you one bit. When I got my nose pierced, I only felt the part where it went through my nose... other than that I didn't feel a thing. To me, getting my ears pierced were a heck of a lot more painful than this ever was. And be careful... when the piercing is starting to heal, it gets itchy, and i've caught myself a few times almost ripping it out.. :P

@xsch123x an earring is 20 and nose are 18. you can get smaller nose studs but they strongly recommend the 18 and get the curved studs not the straight ones with the little ball thing on the end they fall out easy and cause more trama to the piercing when taken out and put in. I got this lecture when I had to get my piercing re-stretched after a stud fell out in bed

I also have my nose pierced and the pain all depends on your level of pain tolerance (mine is pretty low, and I didn't find it that bad). You don't have anything to be scared of, if you go to a good piercer you'll be in and out before you know it. :)
